I'm writing this review after my son has taken a full year of music lessons and participated in…read morefour music camps. As a musician myself, it was very important to me that my son's first music teacher (and a coach) knew how to engage kids, meet him where he was, and bring out the best in him (easier said than done). Fortunately, everyone we've met at Dolce has been absolutely fantastic. Our family truly feels blessed to have found this place. A special thanks to Brenda and Jack. Thank to you, we're watched our son fall more in love with music.

My 12 year old daughter has been taking violin lessons since she was 6 and we have moved to several…read moredifferent music studios. She says without a doubt that Stephen at Dolce is her favorite instructor of all those she has had. She enjoys her lessons and he is really good at communicating with her. The only thing I would like to see as an improvement is a good way to motivate her to practice. She has joined the Youth Chamber Orchestra at Dolce and that has helped a lot because there are other kids her age that she plays with and she doesn't want to be embarrassed by not knowing her part. Also, having performances to prepare for helps, but I wish they made a bigger deal about the performances approaching and perhaps had some system of accountability for the kids to work for, even if it was just a little prize. P.S. I save 5 star reviews for very few places, so 4 stars from me is pretty dang awesome!!

I am totally delighted to have found such a talented and knowledgeable teacher! Sarah brings years of experience as both a professional singer and teacher who truly understands the art and techniques of voice and loves what she does. Sarah communicates very well so that I can apply her techniques and hear my singing improve! This is the reward of working with an excellent teacher. I highly recommend Sarah Stokes as your voice teacher. Sharon D.

After pausing for 37 years..., I decided to get back into it :) Sarah has been a wonder and a joy with which to work. She is a classically trained musician and in the past a professional singer and college professor. She brings a deliberate approach to voice and piano instructions that will help build any student's craft and skills. I have some specific goals for myself, so at times we focus on piano and then other times on voice. Sarah has been very open and flexible working with me to reach my goals. Sarah has taught me a much more nuanced approach to my piano playing that was lacking in high school. As for singing, my voice is miles beyond when I started. If Sarah can teach me to sing, then she can teach you!

I am editing my review, because I just read the review from a "previous student." I have no idea what happened, but I know for a fact that she takes checks and sends invoices. She has since 2021 when we started. We've been through three recitals, and she has never forced my child to play a piece she does not want to play. However, every good teacher guides a student. Teaching is imparting knowledge of a subject. As for the IRS comment and bullying this person sounds like someone who gets mad and starts making false accusations out of their anger to hurt the other person instead of dealing in an adult manner with the issue.
