Then, had…read moreanother two lessons where the majority of the half hour was eaten up by tuning the violin (although my daughter didn't take the violin out of the case in between lessons). We registered on the 12th, and on the 30th of the same month, I let them know I wanted to cancel. They are now charging me for another month of lessons, despite my cancellation request. Beware that if you sign up mid-month, you'll be on the hook for another 4 lessons, despite no services rendered.

Here's what I have to say about the experience I've had: I have David Price as my teacher, and I am utterly grateful for his instruction. He is fantastic--always involved in every step of the lesson, playing along with me, giving me directions as well as examples of what to do, and he's just a down-to-earth guy who's friendly and kind. The owner, Kath, is sweet as can be, and every single person I've met from that school has been helpful, friendly and polite. The school is clean; the environment is welcoming; the instruction from my teacher is second to none, and I've had four teachers, counting him. I am very happy with everything I've experienced so far. I am excited to see how I grow as a violinist over the coming months and years.

If he doesn't turn out to be some type of someone in the music industry when he's older, lawd help me..he's gonna be disowned! However, I have been communicating with this business via text for about a month now to get a doublebass ready for Thing One. In the communications, we have discussed the required height, type of bow, and type of use this instrument would get to determine which base would be the right fit. When we arrived to pick up the bass, we were greeted warmly and given a quick lesson on the proper care of the instrument. This process took no longer than 30 minutes from arrival to signing the paperwork. I am looking forward to hearing the tones of this beautiful instrument in my home.

I had no idea what to expect since I stopped playing a long time ago, but Russell and Derek were so helpful! I was completely out of my element, but they explained everything patiently and I felt so welcomed and at ease after talking to them. When I said that a friend was going to use the violin to help her little sister practice, Russell mentioned that they have bright colors for bow hair! I chose purple hair and was so excited even though I'm not even the one playing the violin. I wish it had been an option back when I played!

Since their gallery is fairly close to my home, I called them and asked if they moved pianos within a home. They do provide this service, and I hired them to move my piano. I found the movers to be very knowledgeable about my piano. In addition, they were very careful and professional. I'm so happy I chose them. If you need to have a piano moved, consider calling Steinway first.

First off, I cannot believe there aren't any reviews for this store! When I went, it was filled…read morewith people testing out the pianos. I guess I'll be the first to put in a good word for this piano gallery. Before I went, I had research a bit about pianos. I read that Steinway was elite, superior, etc., etc. Of course, any company looking to lure in prospective customers will give that pitch. It wasn't until I actually took some time to go to the gallery that I saw: it's not just a sales pitch! It was refreshingly true. The gallery is open, but still has a lot of pianos and good varieties of pianos and keyboards alike. The gallery is thouroughly organized with an open room for upright, baby grand, and grand pianos that are not Steinways (such as Yamaha or Kawai), a room exclusively for Steinways, a back room for recitals complete with concert Steinway grands (painstakingly beautiful instruments... drool...), and a room for electronic keyboard and such. Nice! There was no confusion as to where anything was located. Stars, stars, and more stars for that, Steinway Gallery! The service was also excellent. I went in and tested out a few pianos to compare sounds. After a short while, the manager himself (Matthew Bird) spent a great deal of time to explain EVERYTHING about the pianos- I mean everything. He explained the manufacturing and how it affects the sound, the country of origins, the different brands and their unique idiosyncrasies, what truly makes Steinway pianos the most elite, and even told stories about how the wood itself is chosen for different pianos. He spent a good hour and a half (if not MORE) explaining all of the questions I had. He even test-played the pianos for me (because I am a bit shy test-playing them myself). He was kind, talkative, and patient. He showed me the recital room (there was a recital in progress so I couldn't test the insane 9 foot concert grands... Oh well) and the Steinway room. I was able to test out several Steinways and he explained the years when they were built and how each might sound different due to its make. Very, very thorough. I didn't feel odd or pressured to purchase anything at all. I also didn't feel watched or uncomfortable. I don't think anybody in the store did; there were other people in the store testing pianos, which is actually uncommon in many music stores these days, sadly. So even though the gallery may look intimidatingly elite and expensive, I found it to be a very relaxed place that conducts business with dignity, patience, and concern for the customers' needs and questions. I definitely would like to go there again and I walked away understanding the make of pianos and Steinways much better.
