Visited Droolin Moose again for the holidays and always love getting to try the samples. Prices have gone up quite a bit since I last visited so keep that in mind when coming to the store. I highly recommend the Happy Campers, they're my favorite. read more

Visited Droolin' Moose around 4:30pm on Saturday, and this was my first time at the St. Louis Park location. I usually go to the Bloomington store since it's closer to home, but l'd say the two locations are very comparable.... Just in different cities. I stopped in specifically for my favorite treat: enchant mints (and, of course, countless samples). I was super bummed to find out they no longer have the chocolate covered cinnamon graham crackers. The original version just isn't hitting the same, and that was truly sad news bears for me. Really hoping they consider bringing those yummies back someday soon! The gal at the counter was pleasant and friendly, which always makes the experience better. As a total chocolate lover, I'll definitely be back. I really need to give myself a spending limit because I go absolutely nuts for chocolate here. The shop itself was clean, bright and makes it hard not to linger back and forth between all the different types of chocolate and other treats. Definitely encourage you to stop in and give it a whirl for yourself. read more

Stumbled across Droolin' Moose when visiting a shop nearby. The shop was honoring 2 local officers who were killed and a first responder by donating $10 to each cup of malted milk balls and we were compelled to purchase a cup in support. We were also purchasing supplies for our college-age daughter and felt she and her dorm mates should have a cup also. The store has a really interesting sample structure which was nice to try a few items. HOWEVER, the coolest part was when we described what we like, the shop worker made great recommendations. We were also able to watch someone come in looking for a gift and she made a recommendation that resulted in him buying the gift and some for himself. Very talented staff! It's a fun experience, great chocolate, and chill atmosphere. Please don't be one of those people who gorge on samples and not buy anything - it's a local business, support local! read more

A nice retail environment with a super helpful staff and a wide variety of chocolates. That said, I've been pretty underwhelmed with my purchases. The candy is good, but not exceptional in any way. The toffee and chocolate I bought had an average texture and somewhat stale taste. The cashew caramel is too light on cashews and too heavy on caramel. Something I'll try again, but I'll keep my expectations in check. read more

I read about this local place online and decided to drop by one of their locations while in town. Liked the board outside of the store so you can make up your mind before going in. I was surprised at the high prices and though the candy is tasty, didn't feel it was worth that much. I wanted to get a gift for a friend of mine and they offered a cardboard box to house up to 4 items. This woud have cost about $10-$15 per item plus an additional $5 for the box. Kind of disappointing that they would charge for the box. read more

I love mint & chocolate and the Grass Poppers were delicious. A container is ~$13 and worth the splurge. We also purchased a chocolate & sea salt bar, which didn't impress us and left an unpleasant aftertaste; the chocolate was bland and texture was off (seemed waxy). read more

I got some chocolate from here as a Christmas present and they are delicious. It is the caramel filled salted chocolate bites.

They have a super generous sampling policy, so this is our go to place, after going to half-price books, to get some free candy. Every now and then out of guilt I buy something, usually teacher gifts or stocking stuffers, maybe a birthday gift. This is not your bargain candy store! I actually have a loyalty card with some punches out of it too. Usually the employees are pretty hands off, this employee was a grandma type who was super sweet and helpful. She explained their sampling policy was that parents have to be in charge of scooping out and giving the samples to the kids because they had a child have a allergic reaction to a peanut and another child choking on a gummy bear. Seems fair. She helped us with the teacher gift and then asked us about our other people at home and gifted us two chocolate bars for my husband and my daughter. A sweet place indeed! read more

Was in for my first visit yesterday, even though I've been driving by for a year since I moved to the area, lol. Now I wish I had gone sooner! First, loved the Northwoods feel. Feels like a place up at the lake. Very homey. Great non-candy gifts like canvas bags and childrens T-shirts. Great displays and easy to shop. Everything is well marked on signs so you know what each product is because they have great names for each item. It's not chocolate covered caramels, it's "Swamp Hoppers". They aren't chocolate covered raisins, they are "Plumpers". And don't get me started on Bonfire Butter Crunch or Big Dippers.... heaven. Yes, they have samples to try of everything. Which I'm glad because if you're spending that kind of money on candy, you want to make sure you like it. The main reason this worked for me because I love a good malted milk ball (ala Whoppers). Here they are HUGE, size of jawbreaker. I was excited until I saw it is a little tiny ball of malted milk and mostly chocolate. It was really good, but I was looking for the opposite. More Malted Milk and less chocolate. Yes it's pricey, but it's gourmet and the price is worth it. So very good. I'm glad they have a No Child Without Adult rule for sampling. Otherwise you'd have a bunch of little buggers in there helping themselves without buying anything. That would be a disaster for both the store's profit margin and public's hygiene. Good for them for not caving to the whiners. I will be back (probably more often then I should:). The Drooling Moose has THIS lady drooling just thinking about going again! read more

The staff are fantastic and extremely helpful! Honesty one of the better customer experiences I've had. The chocolate is tasty and have many choices. Pricey. They also they don't make their own chocolate, but rather buy from distributors and repackage. This is probably the reason for the higher prices. read more

I went in there store today.right..next to subway.they had the rudest lady in there working she was treating me like a child she had to hold the spoon while I told her what I wanted to sample. She said no samples go out the door? And the day before this really cool kid had given me some samples to share with my co workers down at the end of mall. I mentioned that to her and she totally went off on Me.about it via bla bla if the health dept saw this bla bla bla.while this guy was rightbehinder today in the store.dipping the same spoon into all these container s of chocolates she needs to be fired it was a real bad experience with her there.she was the one who was sick for the last a weeks I hope owners see this reveiw...i told her not to tell the owner about the kid giving out the samples sun day..
