The manager, Monina, has a wonderful phone personality. Once she understood I was stiffed on my reservation at my regular branch, she jumped in to get me a vehicle with no notice. In moments she found me a vehicle and my options for my day out expanded to the possibility of great adventures in shopping. The driver, Mike from Ethiopia, picked me up at home. A great conversationalist, we covered the secrets of injera (the ubiquitous Ethiopian bread that underlies every meal) and the coffee ritual that frames their most delicious beans. I spent thrice the amount of time with Mike than I expected because my wallet fell out of my pocket at home, which I discovered once at the rental branch, so he took me back home and then back to the agency. Smiles all around. This is what customer service ought to be like. This is what builds customer loyalty. Thank you for being awesome, Monina and Mike and Sim. Enterprise almost lost a fiercely loyal client today...(see the 104st branch review) but Monina and the gang made me a believer once again. A million thanks!!

I took the van back, spoke with a representative (who was polite and professional), the problem I needed a van and they didn't have another. They agreed to drop $50.00 off the rental cost and I took the van home and used a disinfectant plant based spray to eliminate the smell. All is good. When my husband returned the van is when the issue began. They claim they couldn't give us the $50.00 discount because we booked through Expedia. Instead they gave us a questionable credit on the back of a business card for our next booking. I highly doubt Expedia is going to honour this. Very disappointed. I'm not going back to that location.

Upon arrival in YEG, the rental location was called and a vehicle was sent to fetch us from the airport to take us to the rental location. Once we arrived, the driver of the vehicle proceeded to go behind the counter and proceeded to act as the rental agent. The location was tucked in the back part of a disheveled gas-station, almost un-recognizable. The rental vehicle were haphazardly parked on a gravel parking lot nearby. On our reservation we selected 12:00pm for the arrival time, but as everyone knows, flights are unpredictable and after waiting to be picked up, we got to the location about 1:05pm. The attendant pulled up our reservation number and told us that THEY WERE OUT OF CARS, and that it was our fault that we are late and that it didn't matter that we had a reservation, they were simply OUT OF CARS. After a fierce debate (also there was a gentlemen behind us who was also about to be told the same information) we were given a "complimentary upgrade" to a mini van. Had a wanted to rent this instead of a sedan, I would have, but this was the only option given to us. Mini van, or no vehicle at all. Fast forward to returning the vehicle. We had an early flight, so we had to drop off our vehicle at 5am. We were told "Just park the car and give your keys to the gas station attendant." This seemed very odd, but we did as we were told, and then had to wait OUTSIDE in the rain whilst a shuttle came to take us to the airport. The shuttle driver drove like a crazy person but we eventually made it to the airport. NEVER EVER EVER RENT from this specific branch of Routes.

But had no choice since I needed a car for the week while my car was being repaired. I'm very happy to say that the experience with Enterprise was excellent from beginning to end. Unlike the other company they did a very thorough check outside and inside before I drove off. The car provided was clean and equal to what I was driving and recent (2015 I believe), meanwhile, at the other place I got a crappy old and falling apart vehicle. Everyone I dealt with were professional and very nice. You only get to make a first impression once and happy to say they didn't disappoint. I will definitely use them again if I need to rent a vehicle again. Tip: Though they offer insurance where it also covers the deductible for $16.99/day, best to just check to see if your own auto insurance company covers you fully and not get it. Also make a note of how much gas is in the tank. Mine didn't have a full tank, so they marked on their sheet where the gauge showed, this way I was only responsible for filling it back up to at least the same spot.
