The receptionist said that the first 5 classes were available at that time, and then we would make the schedule for the remaining 5. On the first day of class, we were ready for class when the driving instructor contacted me and told me that there was a cancellation and asked if I wanted to go early. I told him no. Then when 9am came around, he sent me another text telling me that my class is at 9 a.m., not 10 a.m. and that they would not return my money because I didn't show up on time. I wanted to check the website to have proof that my time was at 10 a.m. and their website didn't even work. I told the instructor by text, and he just replied that he doesn't know when the website is going to work. I had to call the next day because the first class was on the 4th of July and the Excel Driving school office was closed. The receptionist acknowledged the confusion and rescheduled his first class. We finally went to his class, and the instructor was on the phone the entire time while my son drove. I told my son that if it happens again that the instructor is on the phone. Instead of paying attention, we would report her. The next class, the instructor, never showed up. She never replied to my texts, and I called Excel school to make the report. We wasted 1 hour waiting for her, and the school contacted me until the next day to give me another date. At that moment, I canceled the classes and asked for a refund of 9 classes since my son only took one class. They agreed, and after 6 days, they returned only the money for 8 classes. I contacted the school, and they lied, saying that my son had 2 classes. The school knows that his instructor did not make it to the second class. I have a text from the instructor who texted me 2 hours later the day she didn't arrive to class, apologizing because something had come up. I am upset because the school charged in advance, and I do not want to return the full money for the classes my son did not take.

He helped her become more comfortable behind the wheel. Bryan was flexible and understanding when she had to make-up a lesson due to our schedules. (45 minutes away) then I couldn't take him to northbrook to finish because they didn't have instructors either. I called and they said because he is 18 he can just go take the test and they will give me a partial refund. He was finally ready to get his license (almost a year later) and now they are telling me they never said they would give me a partial refund. I was told they tried to call me and set up his driving with an instructor but they never did. I only have records of outgoing calls (me calling them) not even one email. I would not recommend them at all.. I wouldn't even give one star. It's not about the refund is the principle... highly recommend them if you want some of what you paid for.

After I completed the written test in early August I asked them to schedule classes for me. They failed to do so after I called them multiple times in the next couple of weeks to follow up. I found another driving school which managed to schedule a class for the next day, so I quit and asked for a refund. Five weeks later I still haven't received a penny back despite their promise to either reverse the charge or zelle me the money. I don't know how a business like this could survive in today's world. I have filed a complaint with Chicago 311. For those who are looking for driving classes, there are plenty of other options. Just avoid this one.

Do yourself a favor and don't do it. You can drive by any Monday or Tuesday and see 10 cars in the parking lot, most of that is the staff. There are almost no instructor led classes anymore. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Look up complaints with IBHE since this school has violated many things. Also, my biggest pet peeve is that classes aren't required to have a complete syllabus! Yes, that is correct. A graduate level program isn't required to have syllabus for their courses. Dr. Stuart is the one who told me this on the phone but didn't want to put it in writing. Also, Craig Cunningham has to be the most disillusion instructor at any college. Whatever you do, don't take him. Absolutely most disorganized cluster-f of an instructor out there. In the end, do whatever you can and run far far away. Stand outside and ask students how they truly feel.

I am not asking for a handout -- only for fairness: either provide the six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction my child needs, or refund the money so she can complete her training elsewhere. Communication from teachers consisted mostly of group emails - individual meetings with teachers were sparse. Making additional donations to the school (on top of tuition) is encouraged, perhaps that would've helped with communication! We enjoyed the infant and toddler programs, but the early childhood class experience was a failure on many levels. Too many children per teacher. We could sense the overwhelming focus on logistics, ironic for Montessori method while they always touted education. Our son's doing so much better in a different preschool. Overall Seton was a disappointment and their early childhood program needs an overhaul.
