I took my car in for an inspection. The service was great they are quick and efficient. This is exactly how I want an inspection to go!

Being new to the area I was hoping to find an honest car repair shop when I starting hearing a grinding noise coming from my 2001 Honda Accord. Well I found out Driver's Edge of Keller is not it. I arrived at Driver's Edge and met Andy at the front counter. I explained to him that the blue book value on my car was not very high so I didn't want to put a lot of money into it, however the noise coming from the engine worried me. I also informed him that my front Motor Mount was broken and that I already had a brand new part. Andy told me that he could not use my part and that the broken motor mount could also be causing the the noise. Andy said he would have one of his Tech.s look at it. During the inspection I was asked by the Tech if the noise got worse or better when the A/C was running. I told the Tech that I wasn't sure because I hardly used the A/C and when I did the doors and windows were closed so it's hard to hear. A few minutes later Andy called me to the counter and said that the Tech reported to him that the noise was coming from the main pulley which had some wobble in it and it needed to be replaced. The Total repair would be around $600.00. I explained to him that the pulley has always had a very slight wobble in it and that I didn't think this was the cause of the grinding noise. He told me that it was and that it needed to be replaced. The A/C compressor was never talked about again. I understood why they could not use my parts and I agreed to the repairs. I left the car over night and never received a call from their shop telling me of any other needed repairs. The following morning , still never receiving a follow up call, I contacted them. I was told the car was fixed and I could pick it up. I arrived at the shop and Andy told me the car was fixed. After paying I was given my keys and when I started the engine the noise was still as loud as when I brought it in. Andy told me that the A/C compressor was making the noise and that the system would need to be placed at the cost of $1400.00. I told him that if they knew the noise was from the A/C compressor why didn't they tell me that from the beginning because I might have put the money towards that repair. He told me that the pulley was some of the noise and that it was hard to tell where the main noise was coming from. The pulley was at a cost of $199.98 and the motor mount which I had purchased on the internet for $20.00 was at their cost of $69.99 total repair before taxes $577.44 This shop is a total rip off I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I truly believe that they knew the noise was coming from the A/C compressor but since I already told them I did not want to invest a lot of money in the car they elected to sell me on other repairs. read more

!!!!!!!GO TO BILLS HALF PRICED AUTO INSTEAD!!!!!!Called for an estimate on a rotor replacement and brake job. Andy wouldn't even give me an estimate over the phone. When I explained to him that I didn't want to drive to his place on bad brakes just to have a "technician" look at it only to find out I was going to be paying an arm and a leg there, I know my vehicle and I need a rotor replacement and a break job, he still didn't give me an estimate. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called Bills Half Price Auto repair and the guy gave me an exact quote for why I was looking for! And it was on $280 GO TO BILLS HALF PRICES AUTO! read more

I went to Driversedge because I was hearing a humming noise from the rear of my car. They concluded that the noise was because of my drivers side rear Wheel bearing. They also said that I could get my rear differential flushed out and refilled. The bill was going to be about $720. I got immediatley suspicious of that price quote. I called a friend of mine that does body work on cars and asked him what he thought of that. In his opinion, they were ripping me off. Since the wheel bearing itself is only about 30 to 60 dollars. I confirmed this with AutoZone. So my friend recommended that I go to this other shop and have them look at it and quote me a price. They just now contacted me and told me that it wasn't the Driver side rear tire, but the Right rear tire that was making the humming sound. The mechanic said if DriversEdge would have hooked up the sensors on the tires they would have known that. He also said that the total for the repairs would be $291. Sorry for this longwinded review but I'm a little bit frustrated with my first experience with DriversEdge. But their prices seem to be on the high side and there are other places that are reputable that will not charge you an arm and a leg. read more

Such great guys! The team they have are knowledgeable and know exactly what they are doing!! We have a smaller limo company and anytime we have something our in house Mechinic can't handle we make the 45min drive to bring it to this location... the guy at the front (guessing it's the manager) is always honest and transparent with me! Their team members will show me what's wrong, what needs to be done and even let me know if something is ok for now but to keep an eye on for future replacement or work! Knowing I'm not getting UP SOLD on things (I know I don't need) is worth gold!! Today while I was sitting in the waiting area an older couple from out of town walked in and asked for a price on breaks, rotors and calibers... they took a look at it came back and told him the rotors and calibers are a little worn but in good shape and have some life left in them... the guy laughed and said another shop told him they would have to replace all of them. The mechanic told him we can change them if you would like but I don't see it being necessary anytime soon. The wife smirked and whispered "I told you we don't need all of that". Try this place out!! CROOKS!! That is all I can say! Dropped my car off at this place hoping they could determine what was wrong. I was desperate as I can't afford to have an expensive car repair. I came back with a $3400 repair estimate which I had to have them take some thing off which brought it down to $2300!! Still not helping. I ended up having the car towed to a family members dealership so they could look at it. They were able to repair the car with a $40 part!!! I was also told by the dealership that the car wasn't even completely taken apart so the things I was being charged for didn't even need to be repaired!! I can't believe this company is allowed to take advantage of people like this. read more

I procrastinated getting my car inspected. I took a chance and called Driver's Edge on Memorial Day. Not only, were they open but they said come in and we'll get you fixed up! The wait time was quick. The service advisor Shaun alerted me to some items that needed attention. I received a quote and was encouraged to come back at my convenience. Knowing that a shuttle service was offered made my decision easy. I scheduled the service and was able to wait at home. A couple of hours later, the shuttle was in my driveway to bring me back to the shop. All items were fixed and I was pleasantly surprised to have my wiper blades replaced at no charge. I'm always eager to tell about good service and I'm happy to say Driver's Edge did not disappoint. They have earned my future business. Give them a try! read more

Will NOT be going back to Driver's Edge. They are a money pit and very unhelpful. I needed a hole fixed in my engine resulting in oil leakage, they took all day to fix it and once I was about half way home my car stalled with my breaks locked up in the middle of the road causing a very dangerous situation for me and my family. I popped the hood open once I managed to get home and realized they had left 4 caps that went on various parts of my engine off and just left them in top crevice of my hood. I brought my vehicle back first thing in the morning and showed them what they had forgotten, and they claimed that it was not their doing, nor was the stalling from their causation. I do NOT recommend going here I had to go elsewhere and pay $400 for the damages they created for my car. Over priced for horrible lazy service! read more

My headlights were burnt out, went to get it fixed and they charged me $229 and took more than an hr to change my lights. The day they fixed my light, my inside light died. I took my car back and they were gonna charge me for another diagnostic test fee so I brought my car to the dealer service and they said I am MISSING A FUSE from my car. When I called back to ask what happened they accused me for taking my fuse out? I wouldn't have paid $229 for fixing my light if I know how to take my fuse out. I would advise against going here for business. My passenger window stopped working so I took it in and they said they would look at it in a few hours. They called me later and gave me a quote for the repair of $470. I had gotten my drivers side window repaired elsewhere a few months ago for only $240. I called another repair shop in this area and they quoted me $300. I had to leave it with this shop unfortunately because of a misunderstanding of diagnosis cost-what I heard to be $19.95 was actually $119.95 (pronounced one- nineteen ninety-five) just to take apart my door and see what was wrong with it. After negotiation, they brought the price down to 400. This place is overpriced, but if you have it in the budget, go for it. read more

they have done work on several of my cars and they do satisfactory work . The prices are too high though, they are just under what you would pay at the dealer. The customer service is hit or miss depending on who is at the front desk. I had a bad experience with short round guy at the front desk while helping my mom with taking her car in. She ask me to explain to the shop what was going on with her car. He acted like he did not want to deal with me and acted like I was bothering him and only wanted to talk to my mother. Another time I brought the used car I just purchased for my daughter for college in to have it check out and the young man behind the desk was wonderful. He was very respectful and made my feel welcome. I have since found a new place to service my cars where the customer service is always great and the prices are way better. read more

I would advise that you take your money elsewhere! This place is horrible and the customer service is the worst I have come across. Went in to have my check engine light looked at and left with a $100 bill after they told me that someone "must have knocked a hose loose." All they did was reconnect the hose and told me it was fixed but the "diagnostics" were $129 (the manager said he gave me a good deal by knocking it down to $100, rip off!) The next day the light came back on! When I called back, Bill, which I presume is the manager, maintained that he gave me a great "deal" and to bring it back into them. Instead I asked to be refunded considering the fact that they did NOT fix anything. I was told that he would not give me my money back and he maintained that there was no one else I could contact regarding this situation. That's an absolute joke, I went into AutoZone and got the codes read for free and I told them prior to coming in that I knew what codes were. In all, I paid the place $100 to sit in there waiting room for two hours and not get anything fixed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! They have no idea what good customer service is made up of. I was also told that the loose hose was due to a recent oil change at a different place. The manager of Drivers Edge, Bill, told me to go back and tell the them to refund my money because of the loose hose. Funny how he was so keen on recommending me to get refunded by another place, but would not take his own advice when it came to his own crummy customer service... read more

Their prices are on the very high end of the scale. I have not had a problem with the work they do, but the pricing is 50-100% higher than what you will get at most reputable places. I stopped going there for that reason. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE CROOKS! Took in my car for a simple inspection and the guy who drove my car drove it like a maniac (putting wear on the clutch) then fails me for mufflers that I do have on the car. perfect example of crooked mechanic shop. read more

We have used Driver's Edge in the past for general maintenance. Our car required a new alternator and battery, so we instinctively brought it to them thinking that they had been an honest shop to work with before. They initially wanted to charge $1100 for both. Stating that they would be charging $300 for the labor on the alternator and $367 for the actual alternator. My husband was able to find the same alternator for a third of the price and they agreed to install. Went to pay today and they upped the labor to $399 and charged us $85 for an oil change they initially stated they would throw in for free. Very shady and made up the overcharge they initially were planning on charging. Do not use this shop. I'm extremely disappointed with our experience and will not be returning. read more

Poor customer service. When my transmission went out in another state that was under warranty by them for 18 months/18,000 miles, they almost did not give me a way to get back home to my job even though my inconvenience was caused by faulty transmission repair work. Then when I finally did get home and got my car back they did not fully refund me for the full cost of having a rental car. At every turn, I was kept poorly informed about the repair process. They never wanted to pay for anything even though it was not my fault the transmission went out for a second time within approx 3-4 months. This is the second time that I have encountered poor customer service with this particular company. The first time, I had the pleasure of dealing with a very rude front desk employee. read more

UPDATE*******************************I took my car to Christian Brothers Auto off Western Center Blvd and they found out what was wrong with my car. The problem: Negative Battery Connection. The cost: $56.35 which INCLUDED the $55.00 diagnostic check. Final cost with AAA membership discount: $51.16. YES people!!! Moral of the story? Avoid Driver's Edge who was going to charge me $1100.00 for repairs I didn't need and take your car to Christian Brothers Auto off Western Center. read more

They are very friendly honest and trustworthy. I spend a lot of time on the road and this is the only shop I will send my wife and daughter to for auto repair. The mechanics here are very knowledgeable and have a lot of experience also they are very affordable and let you know upfront how much it will cost prior to performing any work. read more

This place is not a good place. Expensive but you get a good warranty. Or so you think. My dad took a vehicle in there for it over heating and they fixed it. Well it over heated again, took it back, and they said it was something different this time. Then again and again. New thermostat, water pump, and radiator later vehicle still overheats. Took it back and they accused my dad of putting something in the cooling system. It was like pulling teeth to get them to honor their "warranty." New radiator fixed the problem after weeks of drivers edge jacking around. One year later vehicle starts to over heat. Said forget the warranty and took it somewhere else. They said installation of the water pump was done wrong causing damage to it and making the vehicle over heat once again. Don't know if these people are crooks or just incompetent either way they'll never get my business. read more

My car died on the side of the road and I replaced the battery. It died again and it was obvious at that point that the alternator was bad and it had drained the battery. It was obvious to me. It was obvious to the AAA person who towed me. I had my vehicle towed to Driver's Edge - even though I had never been there before. Why? Because it was close to the house. I told them what happened. I told them that the problem was either the alternator or the wire to the alternator. They said they had to charge me a 100 dollar something diagnostic fee. I said charge me that if you have too, but the problem is the alternator. They spent all day "testing" the car and then called me later on that day at 2 and said they might not get it done that day when I complained - they retorted, "It's almost the end of the day." Yes it was and I told you at the beginning of the day what the problem was and asked you to fix it. I'm not happy that the guy on the phone treated me like I was a clueless female. I'm not happy about the hundred dollar plus diagnostic fee and I'm definitely not happy they spent the day finding other things wrong with my car.... On the plus side It does look like they put in a good quality alternator and they had flexible business hours. read more
