This shop is managed well by Jon and William the manager and assistant manager, respectively. I had a major engine replacement that required a certified tech dedicated to my job. I gave them approval to replace the engine that I provided and any other related components that affected the function or reliability of my 2005 Honda. I initially was hesitant to hand over this large a project to a shop I have never used before. They are relatively new to managing this shop, but Jon convinced me he was experienced and would stand by the work within the limits of the warranty for the labor only. I dropped the car off on a Thursday and the engine was out by the following Monday. Two days later the engine, transmission, and subframe assembly was in and the Tech had performed a road test. They answered the phone promptly and their driver pick-up service was accommodating. I had nightmares of this project getting out of control, but Driver's Auto stood by their pricing and the work. I came to Driver's for a yearly inspection after a Christian Brothers turned me away because their lot was too full. Here, the waiting room was completely empty and the garage inactive, which always makes a first time customer nervous about relinquishing their vehicle. Nonetheless, the person at the front desk was as friendly as can be and assured me that everything would be done within twenty minutes to a half hour. The adjacent waiting room is sparse but functional, with bathrooms, a soda machine, TV, and complimentary coffee. I made good use of the free wifi to try and get some work done, except my car was brought around too quickly for me to do anything truly productive - a flat fifteen minutes after I'd handed over my keys. Upon payment, I was waiting for them to tell me that I had to pay for a faulty light or some other 'required doodad' but there was none of that; only the flat inspection fee and away I went. This was as seamless and as painless a process as I could have asked for and will certainly be back for other routine auto work! read more

Gabriel Grimes, Indian Springs · I went in to get my car inspected and after I paid for the inspection they told me that they couldn't give me a pass until I replaced the serpentine belt. They said it was cracked and worn. They offered to do the job for 225. I found a better deal elsewhere (at 50$) but the thing is that the other shop showed me the old belt and there was nothing wrong with it. I'm attaching the photo of the old belt. So you can see. It's practically brand new. Their scam cost me 50 bucks, and a day of research and finding a better shop to avoid a false 225 dollar lie. read more

Went to get my car inspected, first time at the Drivers Auto Repair in the Woodlands #404, because I was mailed a coupon 7$ off. Was told my car failed inspection and needed 500$ worth of repairs to pass. Felt something was fishy. Paid the 18.5$ and went to another car inspection service. My vehicle passed with no issues. Now I'm here warning others about this place. They can't be trusted. read more

Two extremely disappointing incidents here at this location. 1. Took my girlfriends vehicle in to get a basic oil change and the engine cap was never put back on. Only after hundreds of driven miles was it apparent that something was wrong. I lifted the hood up and oil was all over. 2. She took it back in to find that her cap was no where to be found at the shop. They replaced the cap and that's it, not an apology or a refund. 3. Just took it in today to a Firestone because of a noise, and they found it had a used engine cap with missing gasket, and oil spatter on engine. So now we are paying for a new cap and an oil change. These people just put on an old, worn cap to replace her Ford cap they lost. Very unprofessional and has now probably cost me damages. I wouldn't recommend women go here, they took advantage of her not knowing what to follow up and check for. If you do give them business, don't leave until you have checked their work! read more

Took my car in for an inspection and was told my car would not pass inspection because the emergency brake, when engaged, made a clicking noise. They told me it would be $275 to "adjust it" so that it would pass inspection. I said no thank you and left. I went down the street to another major auto repair chain and passed with no issues at all! I will not return to this business in the future. read more

My car did not start. Since they were nearby I let them tow my car there. Their diagnostic fee was 159.00 which is far more than anyone else charges. they said that they would take it off the repair. 24 hours later I was told that it needed a starter, the total was 900 dollars!! When I picked it up the car it started but was running erratic, when I asked if they had tested the car they did not know and told me that I needed a new module for 1000 dollars. I drove the car home and my husband disconnected the negative battery and reset the control module, So I think they are either incompetent or they wanted to rip me off. it was a very sad experience, they deserve a 0 read more

I am not sure whether Drivers deserves 4 stars or not. But here is my story. My daughter was visiting from Louisiana and her car needed an oil change. I took it in for standard oil change but then they found other things wrong. Small oil leak. Small differential leak. Tuneup.. Yada yada. 3000+ dollars later hopefully all is well the car is in good order. I could not allow my daughter and grand daughters to be on the road with a car that was anywhere short of safe. So I did not question it and paid the bill. Like I said I'm not sure if any or all of this was legit or not but I hope it was. When they are back in Louisiana they're going to take it to another service station to check and make sure that everything that they said was done was done. I will report on that later read more

I went to Driver's on Kuykendahl to use an oil change coupon. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Things turned bad when they asked me to go into the bay, where my car was on the lift. The mechanic explained that my oil pan drain plug wasn't working properly -- the threads inside seemed to have been stripped and he didn't guarantee if he took the plug completely out, that he'd be able to get it back in. I asked what could be done to correct it. He said I needed a new oil pan. I asked for a written estimate, which turned out to be $876.01. i was asked twice if I wanted them to make the repairs, and I declined their offer each time. At that point, I felt like they saw a single woman who cared about her car and could be easily taken advantage of. So, I went to my regular mechanic the next day, Auto Clinic Texas on Sawdust. I highly recommend them, their work, and their integrity -- I've been going there for 3 years. They proceeded to change the oil, with no issues. So Buyer Beware if you go to this Driver's location. Question any repairs that they recommend! (Note: I kept the estimate, in case anyone questions my comments.) read more

The five stars are obviously NOT true! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RIP OFFS I am writing this review on behalf of my hard working HONEST father. I witnessed his stress in dealing with this company and decided I needed to warn people. Because of this company my dad had to take extra time off work, extra time over the phone going back and forth with these liars and his honest warranty company, and extra driving around. This car repair shop mission statement must be to try and get the most money out of peoples pockets. My father took his car to this Humble location because the harmonize pully broke and the belt that goes around it came off. He first called is insurance and warranty company to tell them the issue. They agreed to take care of the broken part and have his car towed to the nearest repair shop (unfortunately it was this place that was close by). This auto repair shop called him back the next day about his cars battery being no good. They said "the battery will not recharge and is no good." My father thought that was bogus because he knew it was not an old battery. He told the repair shop that and also that he will pickup the battery to take it elsewhere to charge. Then they said "we have a brand new battery you can buy here for $140 (or around that price my dad doesn't remember the exact price)" ....hmmm yes I am sure that is exactly what they would like (MORE MONEY). So my dad took an extra trip and time to pickup the battery and take it to auto zone to have it charged. Next day he had my brother (because he is at work) pick up the battery and BAM! It is fully charged and works like a charm. I was over hearing all these complaints with my dad and this place so I decided to see what the fuss was all about. I offered to drop off the battery. So I drove up to the place went inside and said I had brought the battery for my dads car. Right off the bat these people were not friendly. Didn't smile, didn't greet me. Hmm So I gave him the battery and as I was handing it over he said, with a bad tone "did you have it charged or is it new?"....what I wanted to say was "Does it matter?!" but I like to show respect so I just answered the question "It was charged." Then he made a face and walked away without saying anything else. Ummm okay! Sorry you didn't get to rip us off a new batter. So the car was finally ready (week later). Between this week there was a fuss with them trying to charge my dad and the warranty company. TRYING TO DOUBLE DIP! WOW! This place will go to every limit to earn an extra buck. SO SAD! In the end they only charged the warranty company. But my dad basically had to fight for it. Why they like to make peoples life complicated I don't know?! My dad told me and my mom to go pay to co-pay ($100) so they can release the vehicle to us. But that it could take up to 24 hours because they need to get the payment from the insurance company. My dad did not want to wait another day with out a car so he called the insurance company and told them to speed up the process. Long story short my dad had to show up there again after work to make sure they were doing their part and sending the paper work quickly. He waited there an hour and they finally released it to him. THANK GOD that was over with. I guess they think people are stupid and don't know a thing about cars. It's very sad how companies can't just be an honest business. I also failed to mention that my dad and brothers have worked on plenty of cars and know way more than these buffoons. I also found out from my dad that before he took this car to the Humble location he had gone to the same company but at The Woodlands (3 months prior). Another long story short. He brought it in for a cv joint replacement. The rip offs called him back and said "the transmission was no good"...Oh my gosh! Really? My dad had to go and explain to them to put it in reverse and turn the wheel so they can hear the sound. He also said that the guys didn't even check the cv joint! Isn't that exactly what my dad told you guys was wrong? My goodness! So the guys heard the noise but kept insisting with him about the transmission. He told them to call his warranty company and they said okay and that they would give him a call back... He never got a call back! Fast forward to the recent incident in Humble. My dad explained to them about his previous experience with the Spring location and if they can check that out too, but the guy said, "well let's worry about this first." They didn't want to hear anything about the other problem. Nor was anything ever done because they obviously grew angry that they didn't rip us off at the end of this all. These guys are very polite but incredibly slow. I had an 11am appointment for a. Oil change. I took my three kids with me with the expectation that they would start the oil change on time. I took the kids across the street for lunch, coming back at 45 minutes like I was told. The gentleman at the desk said they were going to be a few more minutes. Turns out he was lying and they had not even started in my car. I spent the next 20 mins waiting before even getting the truth out of him. I specifically set an appt so I could get the oil change done at a certain time and not have my kids waiting in a waiting room for a seemingly endless amount of time. This place is a ripoff. I drive a Nissan Altima and decided to go to this place because I had a light come on called "maintenance other". I went in to have it checked out and they came up with a list of about 8-10 things on my car that they claimed needed fixed totaling to around $1,600 - I guess they assumed that I was incompetent with cars. I could tell they were trying to exaggerate on whatever my car issues actually were so I said I didn't want to have it fixed that day but would come back. I went to the actual Nissan dealership and they said this is just a maintenance light that comes on after driving 15,000 miles and NOTHING was wrong with my car. Basically, DO NOT GO HERE. I went to rooster ridge when we first moved here a few months ago to get an oil change and inspection. They came back with a failed inspection and about $4000 worth of work they said needed to be done. I ended up driving my car back to my place I used in Arkansas and he said none of what they said needed to be done. They did my oil change and I came back here. BAD EXPERIENCE - ZERO Customer Service - Bait and Switch My car broke down and I had it towed to Driver's. They evaluated the issues and told me it was the coolant system and battery and quoted me $1400 for the repairs. I agreed to the repairs with the understanding that my car would be fixed. When I went to pick up my car, they told me it was $1600 (never informed me it was going to cost more than the $1400 I agreed to.) I had no option but to pay the $1600. I drove my car home (approx 1 mile) and and when I got back in my car a few hours later, it doesn't start - same issues it had prior to taking to Driver's. I opened the hood and noticed my oil was really low and my coolant was completely empty. I added both but that didn't resolve the problem. My receipt showed $159.95 to flush/fill coolant. I also noticed that they never even drove my car to see if the repairs they made had fixed the car - mileage in and out were the same. I called Driver's and let them know they hadn't fixed the problem. They offered no apology but eventually offered to tow my car back to their shop and take another look at it. Three days later they came to pick up my car and informed me it was the mass air flow sensor and would cost me an additional $300 to repair. VERY frustrating to pay $1600 to have your car repaired, find out it isn't fixed, and then be told it is going to cost another $300. They actually suggested I go purchase the part and they would instal it for only $175. RIDICULOUS - I wasted $1600 with this company on unnecessary repairs that didn't fix my car. Serena was unapologetic and bordered on rude - All I wanted was to be treated fairly - repair my car or make it right. I reached out to Driver's customer service and still have not received a call back. In the end, I purchased the part and installed it on my own for a total cost of $133 and total labor time 10 minutes. read more

Took my vehicle there for an oil change. They have a 5 pack that they offer for $100 which is a good deal, especially if there are multiple vehicles in your household. Beware that they will tell you there are certain things wrong with your car to get more money, and the charges for those "issues" is exorbitant. They wanted to charge $66 for an engine air filter. For those unaware, autozone and other parts stores sell these filters for less than $15 and will install it for FREE. Drivers Auto makes their 400% margin by preying on the naive and gullible. Please assist in shady businesses like this going OUT OF BUSINESS and take your well earned money elsewhere. read more

I was grossly overcharged for having my battery changed. I paid over $500 for what I later found, other reputable shops charge $120. I was told that the battery alone costs $280. Not true, must be under $100 since including labor it costs $120 elsewhere. I stopped going there almost two years ago when they gave me an estimate in the thousands for needed repairs that no other shop could confirm the need for those repairs. But I mistakenly thought that changing a simple battery should be pretty cut and dry. Their response was that they are a premium shop and charge a little more. Brought my car in last week for alternator/battery and showed up with another $600 in completed "recommended services"...fuel system flushes, battery protection, and shop fees. He searched to find the best price and went over everything with me. I was told it would take about two hours, so I had them take me home so I didn't have to sit there. Took my truck into this place to have them bleed my brakes, backed my truck in front of the bay with the lift (bay #2) set the emergency brake and proceeded inside to speak with them I have no brakes they told me no problem. We will take care of it I said ok great you have to put in in drive and release the emergency brake slowly. No problem they said. I walked outside talking to my wife when the tech was walking to my truck I made it a point to remind him that my truck didn't have brakes. He said yes sir they told me he started my truck and released the emergency brake out the truck into reverse and he hit the gas then jumped the curb, and ran my rear end of the truck into the trees bending my bumper my tailgate my trailer light box and the diamond plate trim. I went over and asked what were you thinking he said no one told me it didn't have brakes I lost my cool and said you told me that they told you and I came and talked about it with you. I looked at the damage and said well we are gonna need to figure this out after the repair. They jumped the curb again and got it into the bay at that time I started taking pictures they got rags out and tried wiping the Tree bark and dirt and scuff marks off I yelled don't touch that yet I need pictures they said sir you can't come in the shop I didn't care what they were saying. I took my pictures and let them fix my truck they came inside to talk to me and said that my brake line was smashed which wasn't that way before going in there Bc I had just changed the master cylinder just needed to bleed the brakes. The brake like had leafs all over it they said they didn't cause that then They priced the brake like for $ 87.37 delivered I called autozone they told me it was $17.00 for the brake line I called my wife to come get me to go get it they left my time running during that hour I was gone to get the part they messed up charged me $336.00 to bleed my brakes I lost it I said why is it 336 dollars they said $130.00 an hour for the repair I told them well before I pay for the repair I need to know what y'all are going to do about my truck they said they didn't cause any damage. That's when I really lost it. They took my keys and said pay your bill or you won't get you're vehicle back. I paid my bill and demanded to speak to a manager when a lady came out and said it wasn't their fault and that they didn't cause the damage. I left went to a friends shop and got an estimate to repair the damage they estimated $5,116.12 worth of damage I went back to speak with them again they asked me to leave before I got to the door. I said I will not leave until I have some answers. It's been 6 months no calls from managers no calls from corporate office nothing they think they can damage people's property and get away with it well from now on I'm going to ruin your business. I will run your customers off and make signs of the damages to my truck and sit outside and refer the customers to other places. read more

I would give less than a star if that was possible. My wife went there today to get the annual registration inspection and repair a signal light bulb. She walked out paying $454 for services she was told were "required". When we complained we received $100 voucher to correct the "misunderstanding".... Communicating clearly is a key part of any service business. Providing your customers with written quotations is a best practice that this shop does not have as a matter of practice.....Not sure we will even use the voucher. read more

DO NOT GET ANYTHING OTHER THAN OIL CHANGE DONE HERE. I used to love this location for a quick oil change. On Jon's (Manager?) recommendation got brake job done on our both vehicles. Ever since this job the vehicle makes a constant rubbing and squeaking sounds. Took back twice the issue not fixed. Even last time ONE OF THE FRONT WHEEL LUG NUT WAS NOT INSTALLED. Finally took the vehicle to the dealer and after another $400 later the dealer tech said the correct spec pads and shims were not used originally by Drivers and the pads were not giving a full contact to the rotor. Never ever for another job at this or any Drivers location. Customers beware!!! read more

Jeep Liberty was taken to drivers because it was overheating. Drivers told us we needed a new radiator and it was going to cost $1372.27, I asked how come it cost so much and they said they will have to remove the a/c condenser also and remove the freon for the system. A few weeks latter, the air conditioner was not working well so I took the jeep in again. I queried does this have anything to do with when you removed the a/c condenser. They said they will have to check it out. Driver's recharged the system with Freon and said they added dye. The manager told me when the system is low again take it back to them and they will be able to detect where the leak is originating from with the dye. Sure enough, the A/C stop cooling and I took it in again. A few hours latter I get a call and was told they found the problem. I talked to the manager and he said they could not find a dye leak so they checked under the dashboard with a Freon detector and it indicated that I had a leak in the evaporator core. The estimated cost to replace the core was $1,726.85. I told him I will think about it. A week later I took the Jeep to Rayford Automotive. The mechanic at Rayford inserted dye and freon into the system and found a massive leak at the condenser connection. The leak was so big that you could see the dye clearly without the special goggles used for dye detection. The leak was at the same connection that Drivers had to disconnect to remove the condenser. The system has been working great since Rayford made the repair. I also took the Jeep to Elders Absolutely Cool Automotive to check out Driver's claim that the evaporator coil is leaking. Elders Absolutely Cool has specialized equipment to test the evaporator coil. A camera check and a sniffer check. Both test indicated the coil does not leak. I know people can make mistakes, but, there is just too much evidence here to believe that is the case. Another point, Rayford estimated the cost of my original radiator job to be less than $500. I have done business with Rayford for over 20 years. The owner is a straight shooter and has always provided great service. Still not sure why my wife was taking our cars to Drivers. read more

I went in for a simple oil change and they told me that there was "rusted water" running through my water pump and I needed to get it completely replaced and flushed out. It's not the typical place I go for oil changes, so I couldn't believe it. I decided to go to the Goodyear right down the street and make sure I wasn't getting screwed over. well turns out I was. I came in for an oil change, Driver's Auto told me I had a slow oil leak then gave me a quote of almost $900 to repair the oil leak. I told them I would think about it. Drove home and noticed there wasn't an oil leak after 3 weeks. Then my headlight went out, I took it to them and they replaced the headlight free of charge after 45 minutes later which I thought was very odd but was grateful. Drove home then I noticed there was a major oil leak the same day. Since then the oil has been leaking tremendously. Then a month later, I received a call from Driver's Auto wanting to know if I made up my mind about repairing the oil leak. Is this coincident?
