During my…read morevisit, there was an unsanitary situation where feces were left on the floor inside the facility, which caused a very strong odor in the area. Because of this, it was difficult to take my photo properly, and my photo was affected since I was clearly uncomfortable at the time. I understand unexpected situations can happen, but the conditions made it hard to complete an important step like taking an official identification photo. I would appreciate the opportunity to retake my photo under normal and clean conditions.

This time, John had to unravel a problem with an errant flag from out of state on a registration that couldn't be renewed at AAA. He read the form I filled out, had a raised-eyebrow stare at his monitor, and then that satisfied, Oh, Yeah, smile crossed his face. A quick conversation with a Supervisor, a few keystrokes, some buzzing from the printer, and, voila!, a renewed registration. I have to say that with one exception a few years ago, and an answer that not only defied the laws of physics but also time travel, I have never left the Ventura DMV office without either a solution or an actionable plan. The Post Office's updated look looks really nice. And there's parking available again. I can't…read morebelieve I'm geeking out. First, there's an area where you can drop off your letters and packages, a self-service area to buy stamps and to ship your own boxes, smart lockers to pick up your post office packages more easily, and more. The next area is the actual post office service area, where you stand in line. Now, the waiting room counter area is bigger. The line moves along the counter, so no longer do I have to kick packages forward (unless the package is huge - there's a joke in there somewhere), and I can place my packages on the counter and move them forward. I just had the easiest time shipping out all my holiday gifts because I placed them on the counter and moved them along easily. Thank you, counter! The service here is always professional, friendly, and fun. The line length usually sucks, but I understand that's not anyone's fault. But the workers here always seem to be in good spirits, so I can't be annoyed at the wait time for long when they are so friendly. The post office is WAY more space efficient, and the renovations - while lengthy - were totally worth the wait! The only suggestion I heard while waiting in line is for there to be music playing in the background. That would definitely perk my spirits up even more, but it may make it harder to talk to the cashier unless it is playing at a low volume. Just a suggestion, Oxnard USPS!
