I noticed them growing over the years and becoming an official factory-authorized dealer, so when I was looking to get back into riding, I decided to check out a pre-owned 2019 Yamaha MT-10 they had on the floor. Well, it looks like not much has changed in all these years when it comes to their pre-owned offerings. This bike (with around 10k miles) was in terrible shape. The chain was totally rusted out, the seat was broken, and the left grip was completely loose, indicating a poorly done replacement. The left-side engine case had rash--probably from a drop, which connects to why that grip needed replacement. On top of that, the battery was dead, the front tire was completely bald, the back tire was 4 years old despite having tread, and last but not least, the bike had an active, open safety recall. Yet, their asking price was for a bike in great condition. Whenever I pointed an issue out to the salesperson, he replied that they knew about it and intended on fixing it at the time it was purchased, which I highly doubt. I am pretty sure they would happily sell that bike as-is to an unsuspecting buyer. Otherwise, why not take care of those things to begin with if you plan on doing them anyway? It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in a major dealership to see a bike in such poor condition on the showroom floor. My guess is they try to pass off a mess to someone first, and if it doesn't sell, only then do they start lowering the price or addressing the issues. It's a shady way to do business.

Was set to arrive at 9 AM on a Saturday morning and they had me back on the road with two new tires installed within an hour. Mechanics were friendly and could see were diligent in their work. great shop with a ton of knowledge on the old CB's - getting fewer and farther between these days…read moreto find shops that know these bikes as well as these guys. dont hesitate to bring yours here. they did my girlfriends CB450 a solid run thru and found a problem another shop misdiagnosed as a carb problem, when it was in fact an advance unit spring problem. something you probably would not think of unless you have decades of experience with these things. they were able to put some better springs on it (they are not available brand new and luckily they had a spare better set to try) and sure enough, the little bike finally ran and idled. I was in search for a good friendly shop to build a relationship with because I know I will need the scheduled maintenance done on my bike. I decided to call West Valley Cycle Sales and talked to Robyne. She was very nice and accommodating! Scheduled me right away! I was the first customer at their shop and Joseph took care of checking my bike. He was very thorough! He spent the time to explain and go through everything with me. Live right down the street from them and offered to pay their mechanic a couple hundred dollars to come over after work to put it on and owner Amil said no, he would send his guys over with a truck and pick it up. Unfortunately it sat for so long that the carburetors got clogged and the engine wouldn't turn. It just struggled like it was taking its' last breath on this Earth. I used to have an amazing motorcycle mechanic locally but has since packed up and left the business. I asked around for any recommendations and Yelp brought me to Tarzana Motorsports and Shane. The Ninja was in terrible shape and I feared that I might have to sell it for parts/get rid of it. I walked into Tarzana Motorsports and talked to Shane, who was really cordial and knowledgeable. I explained to him what had happened and hope that he can revive my beloved bike. I made an appointment (appointment-only place) and brought my bike in. Getting my bike back from the dead took some work; the clogged up carburetors were the least of my problems. The bike also has a severe rusting in the tank, an dead battery, and a few parts that can't be saved. Since Shane was a one-man operation, it took a month for my bike to come back to life and boy did it! Not only did Shane brought my beloved bike back from the dead, it's running better (smoother) than before. I was so happy and so grateful for Shane's attention to detail that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any rider. I ride my bike every chance I get. Thanks Shane! Five stars!
