I was in the area, so I called to check if this store would accept a return from a different CycleGear location, and because of the specific item stock they told me they could take the return. So I'm initially just coming for a return. One associate made the effort to welcome me as he was helping another customer at the register. While I'm looking at products nearby the register, another associate, Jesse, asked if he could help me with anything. I brought him the return, reacting with no bad attitude at all. I mentioned I'd be ordering a different model of the original item I had purchased, later through their website - to which he reminded me could be done in store. After a smooth return, he helped me order the exact model of pants I wanted, to be delivered to my doorstep. Well, it's been about two months since I first step foot in cycle gear in vanowen CANOGA PARK and I have been going there ever since. Two months ago I was in the process of getting my motorcycle license and purchased my first motorcycle helmet, the BILT Apex, for my CMSF motorcycle safety course. It served me well and recently had upgraded to the Shoei GT 2 air which also purchased at cycle gear. They had great price on it I purchased so many items there in the last two months from riding gear to motor cycle cover. Yes, I got my motorcycle license endorsement and got a new Kawasaki Vulcan S ABS sport cruiser. Cycle Gear is an excellent motorcycle cycling shop for all cycling needs. Cycle gear is a good place to buy cycle gear. But don't go near this place for motorcycle tires. I went there to buy a tire for my Goldwing. Of course they did not have the tire I was wanting but the sales person picked one out that he said was just as good. I noticed the tire he had chosen was smaller then my original tire. Based on the conversation with the sales person, my confidence in his tire knowledge started to fade. They said they could order the tire I wanted and It would be in on Wednesday which was four business days away. So I decided to go for it. As I left the store I had the feeling I had made a big mistake. I got on line and saw a number of reviews about how Cycle Gear is not a good place to have tires mounted. After my experience with the sales person and the reviews, I decided to cancel my order. I went back to the the store and told them to cancel the order and refund my money. The sales person said I would have to wait until the tire came in first then I could get my refund. I'm not even sure that is legal, but since it was allegedly going to be just a few days I left. The first time i went into Cycle Gear was around 10 am. That is when I dropped off my motorcycle rim and ordered the new tire. I returned at 4 pm to cancel the order and my motorcycle rim was still leaning against the counter where I left it. Yet another reason I have no confidence in this place for tire service. Wednesday came and I was told the tire would be in on Friday. Friday came and no tire. I have gone to local well known motorcycle shop, purchased both front and rear tires with the tires I wanted, had them mounted, put them back on my bike and did a hundred mile test drive and still have not received word my tire has come in at Cycle Gear. The sales people there are young people with no passion for riding motorcycles. They may ride, but I have not found one that really knows motorcycles like at other places. It's just a job to them. They are not discourteous or anything like that. They go through the motions and do the best they can. I'm sure some day after making a big scene at the store, I will at some point get my refund. If you want gear and know what you want and have researched it elsewhere Cycle Gear in Draper is fine. But if you have any questions about tires and want them mounted go elsewhere and save yourself some grief. I take very good care of my Motocycles and I'm glad I put my tires in much better hands somewhere OTHER THEN CYCLE GEAR. read more

After being a customer of this store for YEARS i decided today I'm done. I deal with an arm injury and it's hard for me to reverse into a parking space effectively while dealing with this injury. It's not like i just park anywhere but one of my tires was over the line i guess when I reversed. There's no other parking space on the side of my car where i was parked but apparently someone from this store decided his panties were wadded up his A a bit too far and said to me "nice truck but you need to park between the lines." Again I'm injured and steering with that arm requires me to go through a lot of pain. I got this injury FROM A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT so you'd think a motorcycle shop would understand that... apparently this one is run by the only jerks who don't. I won't come back I'll use Amazon and I hope this store goes out of business. Make your own choice but they don't even have good prices to make up for the level attitude they serve out for free. read more

I'm pretty sure I met my sister from another mister in here today! KIM! GIRL! You were so much fun and SUPER HELPFUL! I'm gearing up to get my M1 license and am taking a course this week so I needed some things. A friend of mine who rides recommended this place to get my motorcycle needs met, so I slid through! Kim was cleaning the windows when I arrived and she stopped mid swipe to open the door, walk me around and show me stuff. After two minutes we were laughing and having a good ol time as if we'd known each other our entire lives! She's AMAZING... I ended up getting some gloves, a helmet liner and a backpack. I had a quick visit and I could tell the employees here know and love what they do :) My tire was flat and for some reason my pump wouldn't work so I assumed I had a hole somewhere. I went in and asked if they could check it for holes and patch it up if they found one. Fortunately there was no hole. I am new to dirt bike riding so I was in the hunt for new gear. Cycle gear has a lot of variety of bike gear from helmets all the way down to socks and boots. The employees here were very helpful with getting certain items for me to try on. I was able to try on helmets which were sanitized after. They gave me multiple different size boots to try on without any hesitation. They had nice selections of clothing for men and women. They were able to let me know what was in stock from their system pretty quickly and very informative of different item requests. I ended up purchasing a pair of woman dirt bike boots and they are great so far! Overall great customer service would recommend. read more

As a new rider and a female, I was a little intimidated the first time I walked in. Would I be getting sold things I didn't need, would they be patronizing? Almost immediately, Jacob put all those worries to bed. He was so patient with me and helped me get all my initial riding gear sorted out, even some things we had to special order online. I get to Cycle Gear and there's a female by the name of Kat, who was was just Killing it! I am new to riding. I was just stopping here before visiting a friend, and I seen the store. I remember I also seen some info online, so I decided to stop by. I love that you get greeted when you walk in, but you don't get hassled like other stores and retailers trying to hand you papers. Just a hi and welcome is plenty. Also someone isn't on your back. I had a couple of minutes to roam around before Josue (I Hope I spelled that correctly) came over and asked me if I needed help, which I DEFINITELY needed. He walked me thru plenty of options for jackets, pants, boots, and backpacks, as well as I tried on a couple of things. So I know what I need to get, and he didn't try and pressure me or rush me, and was 100% with me on everything! I can't tell you how important it is for information for a newbie like me so I can make a sound decision on what to get. They have a pretty good selection when it comes to motorcycle gear. I was surprised by their women's selection too. I've only seen them carry Icon, Alpinestars, and some other random brands for women's jackets. However they can do a custom order for you in other brands like Scorpion. What's great about this place is if you do a custom order and are not satisfied, you are not obligated to buy it. You may be asked to put a 50% down payment but you will be refunded 100% if you don't like it. I'm so happy they don't charge a re-stocking fee! As for customer service, I've had mixed experiences. My first experience, before I even bought my bike, the owner was pressuring me to buy a helmet when I told him I was just looking. He kept mentioning the 15% off I get if I sign up for the credit card. I declined and that was the last I saw of him. The next couple of experiences were great, maybe because I didn't deal with the owner? Then the last time I was there the new guy messed up an order for a jacket I had. He apologized and corrected the order, and it was at the store in a couple of days. As for prices go, they are pretty much by the book for everything. Once in awhile they might have special sales that I always seem to miss. The last one they had was a "Ladies' Night" that was held after hours where all ladies' gear was 20% off. Overall it's a pretty good shop. Now that I have most of my gear, I'd probably only go back if they have those special sales events again. read more

Been shopping at this location for years and alway had good service. However, after making Kat crazy with my back and forth on ordering helmets for my wife and I got to say she was a 10+ for knowledge and service. We were sort of in between sizes which complicated the finial purchase (and re-purchase).
