This should have been communicated upfront, not discovered later after wasting time. Meanwhile, Cycle Gear explained everything clearly from the start with no confusion at all. I'd strongly suggest staying away from this shop unless you're prepared for poor communication and unhelpful responses. Read all reviews about this place!

I've been going to CT Motorcycles for a couple of years, but today was the last time…read more I own three motorcycles and have spent a good amount of money there over the years. Unfortunately, the experience has been very inconsistent. Pricing seems to vary a lot, and the quality of the work has not been reliable. The last time they mounted tires on my bike, they installed one of them in the wrong direction. I brought it back and had them fix it. Today, the exact same thing happened again. When I noticed the tire was mounted with the wrong rotation and pointed it out, he initially insisted it was correct. The tire I use can be mounted on the front or rear, so it has two directional arrows on the sidewall--one for front rotation and one for rear rotation. My tire was clearly installed using the rear direction even though it was mounted on the front wheel. After going back and forth, he finally remounted it the correct way. Unfortunately, during the process my newly powder-coated rims were scratched. To his credit, he did say he would pay for the powder coating, but with attitude. I won't be coming back. He could have at least gave me the money for mounting the tires back. I'm also missing the valve cover. Now I need to pay for powder coating, new bearings etc. I'm more than mad. But More to the fact that he didn't want to solve it right there. When it comes to motorcycles and especially tires, I want to go to a shop I can trust to get the basics right. After multiple mistakes like this, I just don't have that confidence anymore. To make things even stranger, at the end I was told they no longer want to service my bikes because my tires are "too small." That's a pretty surprising thing to hear from a motorcycle tire shop. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the experience and won't be coming back. I cannot recommend this place at all.

He was to have worked on the front & rear brakes. He did not touch them. I was riding home and hit the rear brske. Oh oh no brake the pedal had no pressure. Went down to the foot plate. He is the ONLY guy in LA that knows how to tune the tricky and one-year make, Honda CB1100F. Furthermore, he is the ONLY guy I will let touch my CB1100F or my CB400F. I also will not hesitate to bring in my BMW for anything. He is honest, hard working and does not beat around the bush. His shop isnt flashy, with couches and waiting rooms and the like. He just knows how to fix bikes and he does it for a better price than any I have found and best of all he is honest. If you dont need work done, he will tell you. I was out in the valley one time, I realized I was really low on oil so I swung into his shop and topped me off and refused to take money.... he's just a good guy. I hate to hear anyone say bad things about Marcelo, he is a good guy and he runs a good shop.

great shop with a ton of knowledge on the old CB's - getting fewer and farther between these days…read moreto find shops that know these bikes as well as these guys. dont hesitate to bring yours here. they did my girlfriends CB450 a solid run thru and found a problem another shop misdiagnosed as a carb problem, when it was in fact an advance unit spring problem. something you probably would not think of unless you have decades of experience with these things. they were able to put some better springs on it (they are not available brand new and luckily they had a spare better set to try) and sure enough, the little bike finally ran and idled.
