The 3 star is for the worn down feel of the facility. I was here once when this location first opened. It's a decent price on a Sunday. The ball dispensers are not working. They have buckets with balls that you have to grab from and place on the mat to hit. The seat cushions are pretty worn down and flat. I really hope they are looking at renovating the broken/worn down things. We ordered a few snacks. All pretty good. Buffalo chicken dip and nachos. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. The bay itself was a bit dirty (the cushions stained/table was covered in crumbs from last guests) Given the place wasn't packed at all, it would have been nice for my party of two to not have been sat next to a family of 6 with multiple misbehaved children. My husband and I came here for a card show that was hosted at the Lake Nona Drive Shack. The card show was great but the facility itself definitely needs some work. We noticed some holes in the ceiling on the first floor with some leaks/water damage, so it was awkward trying to walk aground the buckets on the floor to catch water. On the second floor where we stopped for some drinks and food had two people working the bar but they seemed overwhelmed as our food that we ordered ended up sitting for a while before it was served to us. By the time we finally got food we were so hungry we just ate it lukewarm. The food itself was still good but it would've been much better to have it fresh of course. The drinks were good as well but they had a limited supply. I wanted to have more high noons but they ran out of the flavors I would normally have. I loved my experience at Drive Shack! What an easy way to enjoy golfing at a range with food, drinks, shade, and fans to keep you comfortable. It's expensive but you pay for these conveniences. I came with a group of girls on a weekday evening. We chose to sit in the bar area for a bit prior to reserving a bay. It took a while to get a server to come back to take our orders, but we weren't in a huge hurry. Once we got our food, they helped us take it to our bay to start golfing. Food was decent bar food. Our group chose to play several of the games to test our skills, and we loved it! You try to hit certain targets on the field to score points. You don't need a ton of skills to have fun. This place is great for a night out when you don't really know what to do for food or activity because it has both. The service is usually pretty good and the nachos are bomb. My first time to Drive Shack was a fun experience! I am by no means a professional golfer and took up golfing a few months ago, and found that they have games of 9 and 18 hole courses here - such a fun add-on for those who enjoy the sport. They also have games for people who are playing more casually. Families were all around us, people of every skill level enjoying their time together! The price to play was a little steep compared to other activities in the area, removing an star for that. We did not order food during our visit. The service deserved five stars. Our waitress was Bryanna and she was provided outstanding attention! I'm a lefty golfer and they provided complimentary lefty clubs for me, but I needed help getting a lefty tee at our bay. It took a moment for Bryanna to help the party next to us, then she quickly jumped into action. I wasn't able to play until she assisted - and without hesitating she added an extra 15 minutes back onto our game time. I've been to their competitor and waited for them to bring me lefty clubs and I've never been reimbursed time - her going above and beyond doing that for me made me want to come back. Great alternative to Top Golf! Much more affordable and less crowded. We were able to make reservations online the night before and found 2 hours of game play to be the perfect amount of time for 4 of us. You can choose from several games--some not being as interactive or "easy" to earn points. We had a few ball delays, but overall a good experience. Arrived around 4:30 pm on a Saturday. We were told we have to wait until 5 pm for bays. Went to the second floor not a soul was in the bar area to order drinks and snacks. Then we went back down to the first floor to ask about the lack of employees on the second floor. We were then told to go up to the third floor to use the empty bays after all. And no one ever came to greet us or give waters or anything. We asked a server for lefty clubs and she just nodded and then never returned with them. Yet she did walk back by us numerous times averting eye contact. What an awful place. It wasn't busy at all and the service was abysmal. I'm shocked it has 4 stars. I've been coming to drive shack for a while now and they always give the best service. Drinks are good and of course the actual golfing is amazing ! Best drink on the menu might be the passion fruit sidecar , but I also feel it depends on your preference. This has a mixture of Passion fruit with lemon and some cognac. Parking lot is very open so parking shouldn't be the issue, but they're pretty secluded so they have plenty of space and bays to have some fun. Overall I really enjoyed the time here and they have a good price for the bays! Night time is $45 for 6 people and it features multiple game modes and great vibes. Decided to head for a game of top golf while my brother is here visiting from NY, we came in around 8:30pm which we figured it might not be to busy, there was a wait for about 30mins. While we waited we sat at the bar and Ryan R took care of us right away. He was very professional, friendly and fun to have as our server. He didn't have us wait long for our beers. After we were called for our drive lane, which we didn't wait the 30 mins more like 15 which was great! Ryan mentioned he would be our server there and he would be bringing our food and whatever we needed shortly. Food came out quickly, ordered wings, nachos and quesadilla! Loved how stuffed the chicken quesadilla was. The nachos were delicious, they didn't have cheese all over the place. The only thing I wished it had more chicken. Wings were on point nice and crispy ordered the bbq and mango habanero! I love spicy so those did it for me! So good! Came here with family, wanted to try this place out since most of the family has never been golfing. Walking in, it is quite the sight to see knowing that there is 3 floors. I didn't expect to eat dinner here but I can say that the food was not terrible. It was nice to eat and play but when the food comes, you can't pause the game so time is running while you're trying to stuff your face. The service is pretty slow but it is understandable knowing that they have to run around and cater to other customers. I would really like to give 3.5 stars Recently visited DriveShack for the first time as part of a small group (18 people). This was pre-booked; had a few bays reserved on the 3rd level and some food included. I expected more attention as a group, especially because on this particular Sunday afternoon it was pretty empty, not many other people there. When we walked up to our assigned area, there was a server that came over to take our drink orders (soda was included), but there wasnt much more direction. A table was setup with buffet trays, but we were not told when food would be put out within our 2 hour window. Throughout our time, there were periods when people needed drink refills and the server was nowhere to be found. There was no instruction on the various games and how the system works.. although in hindsight, I guess you know, if you go to a bowling alley no one explains that to you either. We tried to figure it out, but the system had problems. Many times people would hit a ball out onto the range and it wouldn't register as part of the game. Later on we wanted to shuffle around who was playing in what bay and we were unable to do so.. Perhaps it was already set to have a certain # of people at each and it wouldn't allow me to add an extra player even though they were part of the 18. A call button would have really helped! Back to the food, it was fine. We took a cheaper option of more appetizer type food. I was disappointed by their "cookie dough bites" as it was really just a way for them to say they were smaller (not full-size) cookies. Did appreciate that we were able to get a different meal for a Vegan in our group. Overall, my lower rating is because the place really needs a refresh or at the very least a good cleaning. You can tell that it's been open for some years and the wear and tear showed. The bays were dirty; the floors, the provided clubs and cubby area, the lounge seating cushions had stains and the table was uneven and moved up and down as you were trying to eat on it. 1 USB outlet didn't work. I think this is a fun activity! But I wasn't super impressed by the cleanliness, service and how the games/system is run. Next up I need to checkout their competition to compare. read more

It was definitely a family atmosphere where we felt comfortable enough to just relax. Ethan was our server and was AWESOME! He was welcoming, knowledgable of the menu and equipment. He encouraged us to try the pretzel stick appetizer and made recommendations for entrees that were right on target. It was as if he knew what we were looking for. He even enticed us to try the Bananas Foster Empanadas and the Brownie Sundae. What enjoyable deserts, both get 2 thumbs up. Ethan genuinely wanted to be sure that our first visit was the best. This was my first visit to this business and it was for an office party. It has a cool casual atmosphere and a great place to hang out and hit some balls too if you're interested. It's a great out of the box idea and brings a different atmosphere to the traditional holiday party. We had the entire third floor reserved which was nice and a dedicated bar. We had two tables set up with appetizers, one indoor and one outdoor. I spent most of my time outdoor because it was a beautiful evening and it was nice looking out at the stars, watching the plaines fly by and watching people hitting balls on the green. Overall is a fun place to spend the day, its very similar to top golf but wayy less crowded in my opinion, they just started a promotion where you get to play for just half the price on Wednesdays so we were lucky to go on that same day. They have quite a few games with different rules and targets making it very entertaining. They offer a good amount of different beverages including beers, cocktails, etc, we ordered the pretzels and the dough was a bit raw in the middle but the flavor overall was surprisingly good , the nachos tasted good as well they were paperthin and crispy. They have a few bars where you can sit while you wait for your turn and also a lot of couches with a fireplace in the middle making it a great spot where you can hang out with your friends. read more

I get it, I really do, it's a great idea, but sometimes, places do it better than others. In this case, Top Golf definitely takes the cake. Drive Shack is further away from most populated areas and their equipment is just not as good. Our sensor where our golf balls came out was barely working, our driver was dented, the tv only loaded one game mode, and the cost was pretty much the same as Top Golf. We basically drove further away for a less than great experience. Staff were super friendly and I loved the decor, plus the food was tasty. I just think that they need to invest a little more into their actual attractions like the machines and equipment if they want to compete with a big dog like Top Golf. Also, the sign had a letter missing which just isn't a good look. Seems like a fun place if you aren't the one paying for it. The main irritation with the sensor being half functional is that we spent the hours we PAID to play, basically waiting for golf balls to come out. Very frustrating after a while. If you go, please check your sensor and say something to staff, I'm sure they'd move you to a new bay. But the point is, it should work and bays should be inspected or something daily to prevent these issues. If you're gonna charge the same as Top Golf, then the experience should be as good as Top Golf. Maybe they need a little more time to perfect their technique... so to speak. read more

We had a great time as a family just killing time and being together. We just ordered waters and a couple of shareables. Our server clearly seemed annoyed by us vs willing to serve us. We were a group of 9 so I get it but we didn't want a lot of food but there seemed to be an indication that we should have ordered more food. Place is fun. Bathrooms seemed dumpy. Elevator wreaked awful. Staff just seemed there and not real engaged. They put us in a bay where the automatic dispenser was broken and so we had a bucket of balls that we dug out of for the balls we used. Clearly there were open bays with dispensers that worked sitting empty. Just frustrating because you spend $75 for a bay and some food and you just get "blah" from the staff and equipment that doesn't work right. Oh well...I am sure we will be back because it is the closest driving range like that near us. read more

If you look at the little details - inferior technology, dysfunctional ball machines, unfilled ice water, dirty seating, bathroom paper towels not kept in the holder, even being in need of a paint job when not that old of a facility - the experience is poor comparatively. What fun! This place is a multi-level sold driving range with digital games built-in. We've been here a few times and have had a lot of fun. In fact, I preferred this place to the chain that they primarily compete against. The rates are a lot more affordable and there are games here that are geared more towards the golf novice (that's me). My sone and I had a lot of fun playing the "Shack Jack" game based on the card game 21.....I don't have to be a great shot to have fun with this game. There were others, but the point is there is a good range of games. The second time here we stopped for Sunday brunch. How cool! Driving range games in the shade over breakfast! I ordered a egg & avocado sandwich and my sone orders a chicken/biscuit sandwich; both were better than expected. There were "tots" on the side which were just fine, but weren't winning any award.... The service at this place has been really good. There is often someone attended to you while in the bay. I've never felt that I wasn't taken care of here. One observation here was that the camera/video system is not quite as accurate as the leading competitor that does this same type of thing.....nonetheless, still a fun time! Visited Drive Shack today and unfortunately was highly disappointed with my experience. Overall the establishment is nice and more spacious than its competitors but quite a few things occurred during my visit causing me to give it 1 star. It was unusually warm today and even though they were not busy we were placed in a bay way in the corner. At first we thought this was nice to be away from others but realized our bay was the only one without fans, the overhead tv was broken and the game system kept lagging. Since we were so far our serve barely came around and often forgot things we ordered like waters and cocktails. We were given child size portion of fries and when voiced our concerns were then given cold hard fries. We prepaid for 2 hours and when we voiced our concerns the bill had a charge for one hour and staff stated they gave us an hour for free but as I stated we already pre paid and because of that we were offered no other resolution to address the concerns throughout our visit. I hope this is just a one time occurrence but it was not the experience I was hoping for on New Year's Eve. read more

First time coming here and left a bit dissatisfied. I was pleasantly impressed coming in as a walk in at 7pm I had no wait time to get a bay. We noticed our bay only had a dinning table and really preferred a lounge seating as it was a party of two so we asked to be moved. To our surprise they moved us no problem a couple bays down! Our server greeted us quickly and took our order. While the food came out fast we were both highly disappointed. Both the sliders and chicken sandwich were very unseasoned. The best thing we ordered were the fries and pretzel. I might add the lavender lemonade was pretty tasty. As far for the activity we noticed by round 4 of the game my balls were no longer tracking despite how far I was hitting them my points stayed the same so my husband ended up winning by default lol. Oh my! My company made reservations for about 20 of us. We played a few hours and our area was on the 3rd level. I will say staff was pretty nice and everything from The furniture to the fans because it does get hot to the gold clubs was clean and in good shape. We just ordered pizza and wings and drinks.
