This coffee shop has lots of seating and stools along the counter. Unique coffees as well as traditional favorites. Ordered a habanero honey latte. My latte was perfect! Great spot in 5 Points!

Peppermint white chocolate almond muffin

Anytime I'm in Columbia I visit drip. They're pretty reliable and consistent. I always get a white chocolate latte and some form of pastry. As you can see in the image the drink definitely needed a good stir before i drank it, which I don't mind doing. It was a little weak today, it either needed more espresso or more sweetener or maybe less milk. The pastry was very good provided that it was a mix of 3 very different flavors. But it was a great mix! The peppermint and white chocolate belnded perfectly and the almond was a a good hint of extra flavor in there. I'll always come back here but today wasn't their best.

Finally got to try out Drip, and it was worth the hype! On a Sunday morning, the line to order was out the door. I downloaded their app to look at the menu while I waited, but it was missing a ton of items compared to the one on their website. The interior was cozy, with lots of art on the walls and an additional room of seating in the back. I ordered an Iced Honey Habanero Latte and Brie & Apricot Jam Sandwich at the counter, and was given a number to take back to my table. Service wasn't the fastest, but they were very much slammed. The Iced Honey Habanero Latte was very tasty. I was glad I got an extra shot of espresso in it, because it wouldn't have been strong enough without it. I could still taste the honey flavor though, and the slight kick from the habanero. The Brie & Apricot Jam Sandwich was awesome! It's usually made with fig jam instead, but they had run out. The brie was so melty, the flavors went together perfectly, and I loved the toasted cranberry walnut bread. Overall, a great coffee shop for when you're not in a rush. Would return to try more items!

This is a very busy place on a Saturday (we went around 1pm). My sister ordered an oat milk cortado, a lemon blueberry vegan scone, and a vegan breakfast sandwich. My mom and I both chose the regular breakfast sandwich (egg and white cheddar with honey). I also got two white cheddar peppercorn scones to go. The scones are all absolutely delicious! My sister approved of the vegan breakfast sandwich, and the portion was very generous.

Popular! Long lines at places like this are ALWAYS promising IMHO. I wasn't disappointed! The egg and mozzarella biscuit was savory and flavor packed. The large house coffee was a pour over, and rich in aroma. Distinct notes of fresh roasted beans and acidity. Indoor - table and bar seats available, outdoor seating is dog friendly. Inside feel was record store meets coffee shop with a kitchen. Very hip and obviously popular. Was not disappointed! Value was on par for quality and quantity of food which is good. Not cheap but neither is overall experience. Would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a unique breakfast place.

Such a cool place with amazing coffee AND food! The wait was out the door and worth it. I couldn't believe the coffee was under $5 for a large! Highly recommend the smoked caramel drink & Bre/fig sandwich. The pork belly sandwich biscuit was small and only had one slice of pork, which was good but underwhelming.

I was told that Drip was IT, THE SPOT, A MUST! My first attempt to grab a cold brew from here was a fail, as it was a busy morning and the line was literally out the door. I had no time to wait and decided to check out a different place. When I finally did get my cold brew, it was just an okay experience. A good cup of brew, but certainly not worth the wait. It was a another busy day. Looks like a great place to meet with friends, grab a bite, or get some work/reading done. I will have to give it another shot if/when I'm in Columbia again. Parking is not great here. If no luck in the parking spaces on the street, then try the end of the street. There's a parking lot. I didn't see any signs restricting parking.

YUM! I can't wait to be back in Columbia just to go to Drip. The service was very accommodating and helpful when deciding what to order. The menu was unique but not overwhelming. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and a bagel breakfast sandwich. Their bagels are UNIQUE. Definitely homemade. They're more crunchy than the fluffy bagel you'd expect, but I actually liked it! The chai was THE BEST I've had. (I usually get coffee, but wanted to try something different!) I can't wait to go back!

This is such a cool place! When I walked in, I felt like I was transported back in time, and I mean that in the best way possible! The ambiance was straight out of a 1970s or 80s movie, and the staff was very friendly and helpful as well. It wasn't the greatest bagel and coffee I've ever had, but it wasn't very expensive so it doesn't really matter. I would 10/10 recommend Drip Coffee, and I'd like to come back with friends soon!

Drip is my favorite coffee shop of all time. From catching up with friends, to long study sessions, their space fits all types of activities. As for their coffee, it is worth every penny! And their food is served fresh & with a kind demeanor from the staff. My favorite items from them are the impossible burger, turmeric ginger latte, & that matcha lemonade. Couldn't recommend them more!

I stopped at this funky little coffee shop when I was in town visiting. I needed a place with wifi for work as I was tired of working from the hotel. I'm so glad I found this gem! (Note that wifi is password protected but just ask the barista.) I came in around 10:00 am expecting to get coffee. While here, I also grabbed a quick breakfast bite to eat. The yogurt and granola was amazing! The iced coffee was pretty average - I mean it's iced coffee. The vibe is great. Lots of activity, people working, people coming in and out. I saw reviews that the staff was not friendly, but I found quite the opposite. My barista was quick to offer her input on the teas and coffees. Overall, cute part of town and fun joint with great breakfast. read more

I travel for my profession and for this leg of my travels it brought me to Columbia SC. While I travel I always look for local coffee bars and this one I fell in love with. I enjoyed the Rose Cardamom Latte. From the minute I walked in the door to the bohemian/hippie atmosphere I knew I was going to love this place. The Baristas were extremely knowledgeable and made myself and my husband, both lattes that we loved. She even talked to us about 5 points and where some dog friendly establishments are. Theirs is one and we can take our dog inside. So we will be enjoying this coffee house while we are here. read more

yeah, i come here a lot now. its hard to find a place that has a good staff, lots of seats, and wifi that isn't stupid slow. One thing to mention is that you do need to bring some noise cancellation headphones if you've got work to do. They have a variety of coffees here. I typically get the 34oz house coffee thats a french press (yes!! they have french press) and will spend a few hours just drinking it. The place has two areas, one where the baristas are and the back where the records are. I don't see much patrons looking through the records as you would think so you don't have to worry about being interrupted by them. The other cool thing is that they have art work up thats for sale throughout the place. There's one i like and i can't decide to buy it or not. maybe a few more trips here and i just might. The parking is about 20mins for a quarter so don't forget to bring some change! read more

The super cranky and miserable barista no longer seems to work at Drip, and the folks that work there now are fairly pleasant. Much better service now. Still can't find a place to sit, but that comes with the territory. read more

Though a little pricey, this place has the BEST breakfast sanwiches in town, plus it's one of those rare unicorns: a place open in the morning, before 10am, on Sunday, too, in a Southern town. Friendly staff, cozy places to sit and luxuriate in the coffeeshop vibe. Delicious pastries and sandwiches (my favorite being the one with pecorino and honey!). I miss it already.... read more

This locally owned coffee shop is pretty great. I like sipping on a honey habanero latte & eating some kind of breakfast sandwich. Everyone that has eaten the granola yogurt loves it. Drip also has an outdoor seating area suitable for adults and pets. I don't buy records but I like sitting amongst them in the back of the shop where it's comfortable and quiet. read more

By far the best matrix of coffee and breakfast in Columbia. From sweet to savory to ordering something not on the menu such as eggs in a basket, the food may be better than the coffee which makes Starbucks seem like day old gas station coffee dregs. read more

Stopped in at Drip on a recent Columbia drive-thru en route to elsewhere. I'm a fan of Sean from when he opened City Lights in Charleston, and love how much this place took that idea and grew it. Had a tasty pour-over made from a particularly flavorful Counter Culture Ethiopian. The dark wood, great bar counter, fiestaware, artwork on the wall, and the music in the background all made me feel right at home, reminiscent of my Sunday stops at City Lights. Nice to have a decent coffee spot not too far off the highway for when we're passing through. Five Points is a great neighborhood, with ample meter parking, and a lot of interesting shops around. I forgot to check out the eats menu, but have heard from others that it's good. read more

Fantastic scone! Excellent. Nice atmosphere. Would have gone here for breakfast, but too eclectic for hubby. Otherwise, we love this place. A nice refreshing change for tea and coffee besides the big chain. In a really nice area too, with nice shops. Columbia is up and coming it is just taking awhile. Give it a chance. read more

This is easily my favorite coffee shop in the area. As a new resident I've been hopping around from shop to shop, but Drip (the one on Saluda avenue) takes the cake!! I was a barista at a high-end local coffee shop back home and consider myself to be somewhat of a snob (sorry) when it comes to coffee. Although I'd LOVE to see their slow bar techniques expand, they had great bean choices for the serious enthusiast. I had their Ethiopia black and it was perfect. They had many other single origin coffee's that they do in either a pour over or French press. The fact that they served them in real mugs and not paper cups of sadness really added to the feel of the place. The Boyfriend went for the Rose Cardemom latte and it was like a flowery dream. He gave it two thumbs up. Personally, I prefer the Five Point location atmosphere. Though there's limited outdoor seating, it's more roomy inside. I preferred the vibe, too. Records in the back room, actual good (and local) artwork on the walls, clean, and connected to a gelato shop. The staff were friendly, upbeat, prompt, and helpful. The music was better than most coffee shops (they steered away from indie new releases and radio pop, thank God). Anyway, I will definitely be back. Next time I'm looking forward to trying the food! read more

Tattooed barristas? Check. Jazzy ironic hipster music? Check. Great coffee w complicated ordering? Check. nytimes? Check. Screw Starbucks, go to drip. I visit Columbia frequently and I'm sick of eating and drinking the same schlock. I'm on a personal mission to find good coffee, beer, and food in what I've heard some naysayers refer to as a "cultural wasteland."Thanks to Drip, my search for great coffee is over. I will say that I'm not in love with the food (hence 4 instead of 5 stars), although I've only tried the truffle oil breakfast biscuit (which was overly oily). Oh--and for the last brief paragraph of this disjointed and poorly written review--it's not cheap so only go here if it's worth it for you to pay for good coffee. read more

Coffee: single-origin and top-notch. About time Columbia had a place to get a decent french press. Avoid pour-overs as they are overextracted IMO. Food seems overpriced although focus on local ingredients is appreciated by me. Cola really needs some more comfy coffee cafes. read more

I came here with the intention of only getting a sandwich and a drink, but how can I resist when there's a lovely presentation of fresh baked pastries right next to the cashier! I'm a sucker for anything pistachio, so, of course I had to get their honey pistachio scone. Omg... I don't regret one bite. It was easily one of the better scones I've had. It was dense, moist, slightly crumbly, oozing with delicious honey, and I had a pistachio in almost every bite. It really couldn't have been any better. For my sandwich, I ordered the pancetta with smoked cheddar and added egg (+$1.50) because no breakfast is complete without egg. The cinnamon raisin bread added a little sweetness and texture to it, but I'm not sure that it completely made sense to my taste buds. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the sandwich and ate the entire thing, but I did question the raisins until my last bite. The chai latte was the perfect accompaniment to both these items. It has just the right amount of spice and sweetness. A couple side notes: - I ordered my food to go and the sandwich took a little bit of time to come out. I was eating my scone slowly while I waited and was able to finish the whole thing by the time I got the sandwich. - they also serve beer and wine. read more

What a hip place... literally. The owner is awesome, the staff is super chill and the venue attracts cool people. The coffee is good. Try a mocha... they don't weigh them down with syrups. Most of their drinks are semi-sweet; just enough sugar to leave your tongue reaching for more. They use food from local small businesses: mas brownie points for that alone. And the cakes are made by the owner's mom-in-law. Try the red velvet when they have it! The music and art are eclectic and it's great for all ages. I took my parents in there for lunch and they were in heaven. Mom had the mozzarella on foccacia and dad had the egg with white cheddar. There's also a beer/wine menu too! It can be a little spendy and a little crowded for a small place, but it's well worth some visits. read more

Had an amazing chai latte and delicious pancetta sandwich this weekend! it was crowded on an early Sunday afternoon but didn't have to wait long on food. maybe a tad overpriced as well, but I was so impressed by the flavors of the sandwich (pancetta, cheddar, garlic aioli on cinnamon-raisin bread) that I just dealt with it. my companion got the sweet onion biscuit with pecorino and honey, which was also good but way smaller than my sandwich. definitely would recommend for a weekend brunch or breakfast. read more

Great coffee shop/cafe. They have a good selection of hot beverages. As a tea drinker I appreciate their variety, especially the blueberry rooibos, totally delicious. I also enjoyed their grilled cheese at lunch one afternoon. Their prices are great too. Electic, open and inviting ambiance with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Loved this!!! We were traveling through South Carolina and looking for a quick coffee shop --something that wasn't a Starbucks. Being from Portland, Oregon we *know* coffee! I go to Drip all the time to get work done and it is always delicious. The menu changes every 6 months so in-season ingredients can be featured. Hot coffee is served in your own individual pot, giving your stay a home-y feel. This counter-culture coffee house also sells records, which can be found in the back room. The staff knows most customers by name, as so many locals are regulars here. read more

I'm sure I will visit this place again. The menu is written on a chalk board with different colors which I though was pretty neat. Being that it was my first time there the cashier was very helpful in assisting me with making a choice. Nice seating area outside as well. read more

Absolutely amazing place! Went today with my friend and we had a wonderful time. Service was very fast and also very friendly. We had never been before and they didn't mind is asking questions and staying for a while. The food was delicious and they had a huge variety of drinks. I had honey vanilla latte and it was absolutely wonderful. My friend had vanilla habanero latte and it was truly amazing! We also had some Nutella stuffed French toast and all I can say is WOW!! The best part for me because I collect was they put it all on Fiestaware. What an amazing presentation! If you've never eaten off of Fiestaware its a must try, makes everything better!! read more

Great coffee, great local spot even better staff! Love drip. You can find people doing all sorts of things in this spunky little coffee shop. I personally am usually caught studying at drip but this visit to drip was a different visit for me. I was meeting someone that I matched with on Bumble Bizz. Bumble Bizz is a great way to meet and match with people who can point you in the direction of getting jobs. I had a great meeting with the person that I met with on Bumble Bizz. This spot was the perfect place for doing it! read more

The coffee is good, the roast beef sandwich has 1 small slice of beef about 1/16" thick that doesn't cover an English muffin. Their location is the reason for most of their business. It's not a place you would drive to for coffee and a sandwich. The only redeeming thing about this place is the staff. read more

Both mornings I got one of their specialty lattes (divine) and a build your own breakfast sandwich. I also ordered hash browns on the side. Everything always arrived piping hot and was delicious. I got the build your own breakfast sandwich served on an asiago bagel with egg and cheese and cream cheese on the side. They had everything well packaged for delivery, which I appreciated. Thanks, Sweetwaters, for keeping this girl well caffeinated and fed during a work trip! And, thanks to all the Yelpers who came before to lead the way to this gem. Get to it!

Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.

Staff are generally friendly although sometimes can make you feel like you've just asked them to do something quite unreasonable when you place your order - well it's just one person. Some of the artwork in the back room is just bloody awful - ruining some of the best album covers. I like that Drip are here though, and they do have the best coffee in town and there's always a friendly vibe amongst the customers. Recommended. read more
