I love Drip. There couldn't be a more classic second wave neighborhood coffee shop. Drip doesn't do anything fancy - no pour-overs, no nitro tap, no coffee sodas. What they do is brew great coffee (Batdorf & Bronson, what!), serve a mean iced coffee and have a great menu of snacks. They do all this in a comfortable setting on the interior of Glenwood Park. Many of my days have been spent sitting outside the doors of Drip, sipping a coffee and watching the world pass by. Ran into drip for a quick latte before I went the nail salon across the street today. Asked for a latte with non dairy milk & a touch of syrup. Ended up with an almond milk vanilla latte. Pretty standard drink I've gotten for years at many different coffee shops. Tastes like burnt day old pad thai. Super burnt super gross. You know how old coffee tastes a bit like an chargrilled leftover? Well, that. I'm a coffee guzzler and I likely will muscle through half of this to get an energy boost and then toss the rest. A waste of 7$ (5$+2$ tip). Lame - I won't be back. Pro - staff fulfilled coffee shop expectations with perfect ratio of judgmental and reservedly adorable. Has outdoor tables and judging from the laptops everywhere has wifi. Cons - atmosphere was pretty sterile & corporate (like a tin drum with some coffee signs/equipment) and again my gross latte = I won't ever be going there again. Drip is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to study. It's never too loud/crowded (ahem, Octane), there is nice lighting (ahem, Dr. Bombay's), and adequate electrical outlets (ahem hem HEM Octane). Drinks are reasonably priced, food is abundant if you get hungry, and you can hang here for a long time doing work, reading, chatting with friends, etc, and no one gives you any crap about it. The neighborhood is also really freakin' cute. Tea selection is decent and I appreciate that they have Two Leaves and a Bud. Yum! I've been here a handful of times and I'll definitely be back. It's kind of like Urban Cannibals and Joe's East Atlanta had a baby, and if that baby's cousin was Ikea. Good coffee (under $2 a cup, with 50 cent refills), plenty of tea options, and lots delicious smelling soups and savory options in addition to the scrumptious looking display of baked goods in the case. There's a strong focus on local products, so if you're a King of Pops fan, you will be right at home. It was a one man show running this place when I stopped in to do some studying, and he was amazingly efficient at serving the new customers, while bussing tables and keeping the whole store running in tip-top shape. If they were open later, I could see coming back with some friends to get some Morelli's ice cream to enjoy indoors while playing Scrabble or one of the other boardgames that they have a big stack of. I also saw tons of current magazines, from Martha Stewart Living to Esquire. The kiddie chalk table and basket of toys do make me a little nervous about relying on this place for study sessions though, as well as the free wi-fi that seemed to fade in and out until I decided to switch to stealing from the network that belongs to the Mexican place across the street. read more

I come here to work, and it's the perfect, cozy little coffee shop for my needs. The drinks are good, and and they even serve food! Smart. They play good ambient music although after coming here for years I seem to know every song on the playlist. When it's warm it's nice to sit in the outdoor seating area, and boy does time fly as your typing away, enjoying your coffee at this spot. Come early and grab a table because it sure does get packed--just make sure you save a spot for me! *Update - I will say my only complaint is that the bathrooms could be much cleaner. You know how much money I'd save if I'd just make my own damn coffee at home?! I even bought a French Press thinking that would be my new thing (ha!...not so much). Let's just say my weekly/monthly coffee budget is not only ridiculous, it's embarrassing, YET... First of all, besides having great coffee, Drip serves hearty breakfast sandwiches on real bread, with real egg, and all sorts of other stuff if you so desire (cheese, bacon, etc.). I also like their variety of lunch-type sandwiches, yogurt, cookies, granola bars, etc. Everything is really good quality, and although it's not cheap, it's reasonable for what you get. I like the space too. It's got a slight modern European "feel" to it because the furniture style is minimalist, but the colors are bright. I think that's why I like "working from home" there the best because it's warm enough to feel cozy, but sensibly balanced with all the matching furniture and functional tables. I guess I'm just trying to say I don't feel myself zoning-out here into complete laziness...like maybe I'm being a bit more serious with my work ;) read more

Not going to lie, it's a bit too right out of the Ikea catalogue for me. But this place is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in Atlanta. It's on the smaller side and their table sizes are pretty small. I still like its atmosphere and location though. I really like their big seats to lounge and read a book. A couple of times, it's been nice out so I'd outside and that I really enjoyed as well. Their service is good and they're speedy. I'm usually not a syrup person, but they have such a wide variety I can imagine it suiting a lot of different customers. I really should try their drip coffee, but the last couple times I've had some form of espresso. Their drinks can be a bit too sweet for me... I've heard good things bout their food and their cakes always look so tempting. And if I need a pretty realistic dessert without the restaurant, they always have cupcakes and pies, and other things to quench my sweet tooth. I think it's cool that they're moving to an iPhone payment method, meaning that they have their register hooked up to an iPhone, that swipes your card and you provide an e-signature. It can also email you a receipt. Yay for going green. The servers are friendly and helpful, and the decor is cute and trendy. I wish I spent more time here, but (sadly) I'm a Sbux girl. read more

An early morning errand brought us to drip. I had just finished a cup of coffee when we got there but I ventured into tea because I needed something to warm me up. For $2, you can choose a small or medium cup and you simply pick your own tea from their large selection on the shelf. My brother opted for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. This place is family friendly. There were juices and milk for kids and an organic cold tea that was grown in Roswell! Who knew there was tea there? My brother's sandwich looked really good and judging by how fast he ate, it was. There were boardgames against the wall and plenty of tables and couches to lounge on. The weather was a bit too muggy for outdoor seating for me, but I'm sure its nice when the weather is right. It would be great if you had your dog. I wish I had a place like drip nearby when I lived in Atlanta. I definitely would have been a frequent customer. Really friendly service and a pretty great study spot. The shop is clean and everything tastes fresh and good. I tried the apple and walnut bread today and was impressed with how it wasn't overpoweringly sweet. The chicken quiche was good my last visit and the soups aren't loaded with sodium. The tea selection is quite extensive and the King of Pops stuff is tasty. The only problem I have with drip is the WiFi. Since I now work a lot in this area, I come to Drip pretty regularly. It's a nice place to stop in after eating lunch at Vickerys or Matador Cantina. I always get a latte, which, while not earth shattering, is always good and gives me the caffeine shot I need. I also like their nice selection of snacks and local edibles. I really like this vegan peanut butter cookie they carry. It's totally vegan, quite good and oddly filling. I usually eat half of it and save the other half for the next day. Although I've not had these things, my co-workers who have come along with me to Drip really enjoy the ice cream and the King of Pops offerings available. read more

We stumbled into this place as we needed to waste a little time before our son's Dr. appointment around the corner. We had no idea these restaurants were back there and it was a really nice little find. Our first impression was that all of the floors were really dirty, like they had not been swept in a month, and all the glass surfaces were pretty nasty too. They have a 98 heath code rating posted so we decided to order something anyway. When we went to sit down the couch and chair were covered in crumbs, and under the coffee table was a pile of crumbs as well. Sitting we could see even bigger piles of dust and dirt under the rolling equipment around the counter. The coffee was just OK and we kept wondering how this place stays in business? It's really cute (and looks like a page from an IKEA catalog) but the owner needs to realize that IKEA also sells brooms! read more

Love this place and probably stop in between 3-5 days out of most weeks. Though I am fanatical about my morning cup of coffee, what I really appreciate at drip is the excellent tea selection. I probably look like a crazy person, taking 5 minutes to read the description of every single one, but its geekily fun for me and something that many coffee shops neglect. Snack-wise, they always have 4 varying flavors of morellis ice cream, made to order sandwiches, king of pops popsicles, and all manner of granola bars, pastries, fruit snacks, chips - who can top that?? No one! There seems to be an emphasis on organic/local products when possible which i definitely appreciate. When I break my self-imposed yet weakly enforced "no eating out for breakfast cause I have breakfast foods coming out the wazoo at home" rule, I like to get a plain greek yogurt with scoop of granola and banana with my americano. The atmosphere is completely chilled out and unpretentious and the staff are always friendly. Its a peaceful place to get work done or chat for a while and since its in an area that is still a bit undiscovered, you never have to worry about getting a table near an outlet or being cramped for space. Added bonus is that i have never had any type of issues with their internet - free and fast. You will love this place, I promise! read more

This place is the opposite of 'warm and cozy'. The lights were too bright--reflecting off the shiny concrete floor--chairs screeched on said floor and the music was crazy electro dance party--not what I wanted to accompany my after-dark cup of tea. The barista was rather sharp and not very welcoming. He acted like he wanted everyone to leave as soon as possible. When someone came in at 8:30--30 minutes till closing--asking for a cup of coffee, he replied he just threw it out. What kind of service is that? It's unfortunate that my new neighborhood has such a weird coffeehouse that I don't anticipate spending much time at. seems like the locals agreed.
