I used to love this shop and enjoyed stopping in when I was in the neighborhood. Nice decor and ambiance, and a fun selection. Yesterday, I called to confirm their hours (they are different on Google versus Drink's website) and also to ask about their canned cocktail selection. I was told they now carry Post Meridiem (vs Tip Top), but the guy assured me that PM has a similarly good variety and quality. When I walked into the store a few hours later, I found two PM margaritas and a slew of espresso martinis on the shelf. I asked the guy behind the counter if this was the extent of the selection they had. "Yes, clearly, that's all we have," he said, as if it was impossible that they had more in the back or that polite customer service still exists. I told him I'd called earlier and been told there was a good variety. He said he only works here two days a week. I told him I thought I could do better elsewhere and left. He told me to have a nice day. Sorry, dude--go work in the Simpsons' comic book store! Your snark and rudeness have no place in a nice neighborhood spot like this. read more

On a rainy night I decided to step out. I saw a post for a wine tasting on instagram and reserved a spot a few weeks before. For years I've lived in the neighborhood and told myself I'd check out PLG but it always felt too far to walk for booze or wine. The wine tasting was on a Wednesday or Thursday night and I had work the next day. Oy! But I got off the couch and into the rain and went! On arrival I joined the rest of the group that had gathered. Tons of people from the neighborhood and I immediately turn on my charm and talk. I'm pretty good at it. Been working on it for years. Ha. Everyone received a paper of the wines we'd be tasting and a glass. There were much more to taste than I had expected. The order structured to compliment your palate. Soft sparkling bubbles, funky cloudy wine that tasted like a cider, robust fruity reds, dry and complex whites, a rose for good measure. Knowledge was shared by the host aka the wine expert. And I walked away later on that evening with a bag full of spirits, great memories, and feeling the spirit . I stayed behind with a few folks and got to taste the good stuff. This is my go-to spot in the neighborhood to buy all my alcohol. I recommend this spot to all my friends who are looking to pick up a bottle of wine when they come over to my place for dinner. The staff are always so helpful if you need suggestions! The last time I went in to buy some rum, they did an impromptu tasting for me and my friends. Their wine and liquor selection are both well-curated. In terms of price, they have a pretty wide selection so you can find a cheap bottle of wine for a casual night or a fancy bottle of champagne for a celebration. They have an app! And they're constantly running promotions so you can save money on your orders. I usually just do pick up, but they also offer delivery for all you lazy bums. Just make sure to check your bottles to ensure they got your order right - one time they mistakenly packed the wrong bottle of proseco, but it seemed like an honest mistake. The store itself is on the smaller side, but they still have a great selection of quality wines, and a whole shelf of spirits too. Enter DRINK PLG, bringing Flatbush its very own "good wine shop." After living 15 years in the neighborhood, it is fantastic to have a bona fide wine boutique around the corner with a quality selection and knowledgable, helpful staff. I recently posted a review where I was dissatisfied with Drink PLG. Today, the manager had kindly reached out and wanted to help me out. I can imagine during the quarantine they have been scrambling to keep business afloat, so to take the time to reach out and try to help me is what I call exceptional service. It truly seems like customer service and making sure everyone has a superior experience is at the forefront of their minds. I wanted to like Drink PLG considering it's a local wine shop and how much I love wine. Unfortunately, my recent visit was subpar. I stopped in to purchase two bottles of wine and one was a rose I picked out of the fridge priced at $13 (written on the bottle). I get to the register to pay and the bottle of rose rings up for $15. It's a younger guy with brown hair ringing me up and he says "this is $15 not $13" (no empathy). Considering it's their error and not mine I politely say okay are you going to give it to me for $13 since that's what's marked on the bottle? The employee says "no because it's $15, the $13 was a mistake. Do you want to go look for another option that's $13?" in a very condescending tone. A older man then interjected and says he understands their mistake on the price difference, if he sells it to me for $13 would I be happy? He also adds their just a local business. Ironically, I'm just a patron trying to support a local business. I could appreciate him trying to make it things right. However after the employee tried to embarrass me in front of the other customers the damage was already done. I could not spend my money here. read more

My DRINK PLG experience has been stellar-especially with deliveries. I meant to post but hey, the holidays took over It was the evening before Thanksgiving and I was desperately wine-less. I used the DRINK app and ordered and paid for some lovely moderately priced wines(some from my buying history). I got a call saying the delivery service was done for the night, but hey, the they were open from 12-3pm on Thanksgiving day. Perfect! The shop was on my way to Thanksgiving hostess. At 11am on Thanksgiving, got a call that they could in fact deliver to me on the 12-3 window. Could I change the delivery address I asked? Yup no problemo My hostess received the half case of wine and was delighted. Cannot rave enough about the level of customer service at DRINK and how taken care of I felt. Bravo!! read more

Even if you know absolutely nothing about wines have no fear the staff is very knowledgeable about wine; sommelier service is what you'll experience the first time you go into the store, most likely a DRINK member will help locate your wine of choice. They provide a broad range of wines and spirits at every price point. Bring friends over and enjoy their many events and savor the music at the festive events and wine tastings. If you can't make it into the store, use their fabulous wine app and have a nice staff member arrive promptly at your door on their cool Italian Vespa scooter with your mouth watering DRINK. read more

Deserves no star! Ordered for delivery over the phone, the lady told me the delivery guy could leave right away after me asking how long the delivery would take. I was .8miles ways from the store. After 40mins I called to check where the delivery was - she told me to call again if he doesn't show in 10mins. I then called again, as he was a no show, and SHE DID NOT PICK UP- which resulted in me calling 16times with no one picking up! Then my friend called and just like that - she picked up! Followed by lame excuses, she didn't not know where the delivery was and told me to just hang on - she would try to call the guy again from her cell. The door bell rang while I was on hold - so 1hr and 15mins after I ordered the delivery was made. The delivery guy was rude and got defensive in an unapologetic way. I only have great things to say about Drink. I have lived in PLG my whole life, the the day that Drink opened was definitely one of the highlights of my life! No longer did I have to select my wine through a plexiglass window. For four years now Drink PLG has been an integral part of my life. From the amazing super cool yet still warm interior, to the large and diverse selection of wines and spirits to the staff that is both friendly and knowledgeable. The owners and staff do an amazing job of helping you select wines and are never pretentious when doing so. Not just a pretty face. Although the space is gorgeous, Drink PLG doesn't rely on its good looks alone - they have the staff and selection to back it up. Not having a plush or refined wine vocabulary, but knowing what I like, I find it best to shop for wine by mentioning bottles that I have enjoyed in the past or finding those bottle in the shop and then asking for similar varieties. This approach has served me well at Drink where I have found the staff helpful and knowledgable. I know I'll walk away with a bottle I'll enjoy and the pretty face don't hurt none either! read more

At first the streamlined boutique/art gallery appearance of Drink PLG put me off a little bit. "This fancy store couldn't possibly have anything I want aka can afford", I thought. Don't let the lack of bullet proof glass fool you. This liquor store is super nice but also accessible to the regular drinker's wallet. There are fine wines galore, but there are also a lot of great affordable (around $15) choices. It is easy to tell that the wine is carefully selected and that they support local liquor makers by carrying quality small batch items. They have pretty much always had at least one or two wines for tastings (I come on the weekends generally) and the staff is great. They will help you if you need suggestions and I have even gotten an unsolicited card trick or two while I was visiting. I love the low key/neighborhood/friendly vibe in such a lovely space. Drink PLG has quality and style without the pretentiousness. Tip: They have a frequent buyer program so you get discounts after purchasing there often. read more

So glad to have this neighborhood owned, friendly and retro-cool establishment in PLG! I have often had the need for a nice bottle of wine just as I was making dinner and realized I didn't have anything at home. For the longest time, I had few local options with much more than Yellowtail, or I had to hike it up to the Slope. And then this beautiful place opened up and my prayers were answered. I really dig the vibe of this place, from its gallery-like decor to the 60's-70's style adverts, which makes it a cool place to just browse. But the knowledgable staff and the regular wine and spirits tastings will help you up your game when hosting at home. And did I mention they deliver? (Which, honestly, I haven't tried yet because I dig the place so much that going in person is part of the fun.) All this, and it still feels like a community spot where you might see neighbors and make new friends at one of their events. All in all, I really enjoy going there. It's become a regular stop on my way home especially before my weekend. (Just in case any friends come by for an impromptu dinner, I want to be prepared.) read more

Overpriced wines and terrible service. Don't bother going here if you have any other option. Went here today to pick up a bottle, and was screamed at by the woman working. After an apparent employee walked in and I stepped half a foot in behind him to ask if the store was open due to COVID-19, and the female employee chose to run over to the door and scream in my face while pointing to a small sign about their delivery app, rather than simply ask me from the register to step outside please and reference the sign. The woman screamed about how I was endangering us all and how she was "concerned for her health", but it was quite evident that by the proximity she chose to put between myself and her she wanted nothing more than to fight with someone. Frankly if the store was at all concerned about "health" there would not be three employees working at once during this time. After explaining my confusion and saying I will just go elsewhere, the woman called me a bitch as a walked away. Even better. Would rather cut out alcohol for the rest of my life than go back to this place. Don't waste your time just to be verbally abused. read more

While I'm grateful for their delivery service during this period of "sheltering in place," I wish they abided by their 120 minute delivery window. I've been neglecting picking up groceries because i thought they'd be stopping by anytime between when I placed my order 3:56pm and now which is 7:03pm, beyond three hours since my order. At the end of the day it's just booze, and their staff has admirably stayed open. I've called three times asking when I can the delivery to be made, and the answer has changed from "he's on his way", to "your order isn't here so it must be there soon", to "it takes two hours usually but it can take up to three." Well, it's past three hours now and I haven't been able to get any other shopping done because I've been waiting for the delivery person. I would have appreciated clearer communication from Drink PLG and what I received were vague answers without any assurance. Don't order from them on days when you have anything else to do. I'll be picking up all future orders from here on out. read more

He is always offering new suggestions to try and is spot on with his pairing recommendations. So happy we now have a nice wine store in the neighborhood. There are many unknown selections that force me to try something new and they are always good. We met the owners, Randy and Howard, who are super nice, so we decided to order the wine for our wedding from there. There was a little late notice when it came to our order, but it all worked out. My First time buying wine from this establishment And the experience was so horrible The wine is still in fridge . I placed an order - through the app Walked up the block to pick up Upon arrival I saw two women in store so I went to the door to signal I was ready for pick up They ignored and proceeded to converse For minutes while I stood outside (covid rule ) When one of the women approached the door She didn't apologize or say a word about delay She then made a gesture with her hand in A very demeaning way - I didn't understand what she meant so I moved closer to the door She then screamed step away for the door Apparently they have a policy where they leave the parcel outside - I wasn't aware .. I stepped back she put my package on the floor On the dirty floor - i was in such a state of shock She rolled eyes and closed door . I understand this is a terrible time But how you treat people speaks Volumes She was so concerned about not getting close to me - yet she put my items on the dirty floor And she didn't even apologize for the wait I try to support local businesses I honestly could order my wine online and not be bothered with this . Terrific service. Not as bougie as it looks from the outside, actually has affordable & delicious wines. Always impressed with their tastings, super cute backyard area too. Lots of unusual bottles you don't see at other stores, and it's obviously nice to be able to look at the booze up close without bulletproof glass. Just don't expect to find any cheap triple sec for an impromptu margarita night - for those odds and ends head to Liquors Town Discount down the street. ;) read more

The neighborhood has changed! But I can dig this winery. So beautiful and clean. Sexy imported wine from around the world. I finally came her for wine tasting. It was cool but the staff are not so attentive to the customers upon entering. We were not greeted or spoken to unless I requested assistance. Star deducted for that. I bought a bottle of Rosè which was only $12 and so good! The prices here are very affordable! There's a lil backyard that makes it more than just your local winery. Yes, it's a winery and not your typical good liquor store lol! Nice space for an event. Will definitely make this my spot! I joined the club anyhow. Drink up! read more
