Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - pic doesn't do it justice. Sauce is sooo good!!
    Jessica F.

. I got the angry style lobster roll and it was absolutely delicious!!! I don't love cold lobster rolls so I'm happy they had warm options. The angry style has melted butter, paprika and hot honey. Such a good blend of flavors!! And the lobster was so meaty. It was made with the perfect amount of butter - meaning it was flavorful but it wasn't drenched and soggy. My friend got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the sauce on it was addicting!! It was a decent sized piece of chicken. I liked that it was a thinner piece of chicken on the sandwich because I get skeeved out by thick chicken. Not sure if this is how all of their chicken is served or if it just so happened we got a thinner piece, but I liked it. I'll definitely be coming back here again!

10/10 Clean, great pricing, good food (went here three separate times -- iced coffees, lobster rolls and breakfast sandwiches all were 10/10). Owner was great and walking around, checking in with customers. Tables were clean and service was friendly. The line never got long because they had great quick service. Even after being given our food they asked if we wanted anything else - salt pepper forks etc which is just unexpectedly great service for a boardwalk stop.

The business is brand new and not quite opened fully. They were offering only their lobster rolls and smoothies for sale today. I was lucky enough to get their last one! my friend & I ordered the "Grand" Angry lobster style that gives 7 ounces of lobster. We shared it since it was their last roll. Delicious. They will have more available on the menu when they actually open in a couple of weeks.

The menu is appreciably huge, boasting everything from breakfast to sandwiches to pastas and much, much, more. About the only thing here that doesn't recall a bygone era is the pricing, which is high even by 21st-century Long Island standards. Laurel does at least offer rather generous portions (plus free coleslaw and pickles), but the food is nothing special. I went with a pastrami Reuben and a side salad in place of fries. The sandwich satisfied a craving though the meat was a bit chewy. It feels almost blasphemous, but I can get a better version down in North Carolina for about half the $20-plus cost. To Laurel's credit, the staff were at least attentive and accommodating. For those who grew up with diners like this or simply want a lot of options to choose from, Laurel Diner holds a certain appeal. Remove nostalgia from the equation, however, and it offers neither particularly good food nor a good value.

We were a group of ten or so, including about seven young boys who had just won a football game. we were all pretty hungry!! Burgers are small, but they offer a double burger option which is very popular these days and I understand why. Burgers were tasty and fries were good too, the kids had no complaints. I liked the burger, but I can easily say it was not my favorite burgers. If you are looking for a big juicy burger full of flavor, like served at a diner or Jackson Hole, just understand this is a different experience. The prices here are reasonable and you get your moneys work. One of the moms ordered a hot fried chicken sandwich and it was basically a frozen chicken breast/tender marinated in a buffalo sauce ... she ate the sandwich, but said she would not order again. This place has been around for a while and is a nice local option in Island Park for a quick bite. The servers behind the counter were all friendly and brought the food out in a timely matter. Space was clean and very low key.

I have lived in Long Beach for over 2 years now and was excited to finally get to try this…read morerestaurant - safe to say it was a major disappointment. To start off we had a reservation for 7:30, we showed up at 7:32 and still had to wait about 15/20 minutes to be seated (what is the point of a reservation then?). There were little gnats flying around the whole time outside - so bad we watched 2 tables be seated and then leave immediately. Thus we requested to be inside once we were finally taken to a table. After being seated it took another 15 minutes for our server to even come over to us. In the mean time we noticed that both our utensils and cups looked dirty! Then we quickly realized we both had 2 different menus. A LOT of different app and entree options on them so it was confusing. Then when the waiter finally came to us we asked and one menu was outdated - then of course it was the one with items we were way more interested in. We ordered water and drinks to start and the Ahi Tuna Tostada as an app. The appetizer came out before the drinks somehow and was VERY small - $21 for a single tostada - and it just made it really awkward to share (which apps should be shareable plates). Then the drinks came and were not great either for a basic $16 cocktail. Then I got the Salmon dish for dinner - the taste was very delicious and I loved all the veggies that came with the dish. BUT it looked like they took a normal piece of salmon and cut it into 1/3's. Salmon is normally a pricey meal to eat out so at least give me a normal size piece of the fist. My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with honey lime chili sauce. His plate was HUGE compared to mine, but his main complain was that it tasted like plain fried chicken besides a small part of it with the honey lime chili flavoring. I tried it and it was good but very unfortunate that the seasoning wasn't on all the chicken so it bland for the most part. Lastly, the entire time we ate we never saw our waiter again, and then easily 10/15 minutes after we finished eating we had to hunt him down to get the check. We had a 7:30 reservation and left around 10PM which seemed so extra considering our food didn't take that long to come out. Overall it was a pretty bad experience for overpriced basic food. We will not be returning.

But out short rib ravioli came out all cold inside and out. We cut into Half of one and had to tell the server that it's cold . Then it was brought out steaming hot all great everything tasted good as well. When we got to the end of our ravioli the last piece was the one we cut into and still there . So I asked my server what do you think they did with our order. He said ofcourse they Cooked up a fresh batch!! I told him well they didn't . He looked shocked and said he told them To make a new order . He was nice enough to take them off the bill as well. But still make you wonder what they do in the back if they don't listen to their wait staff and didn't do something as simple as this or even trash the one ravioli and make one new one. The burgers were great, the Philly egg rolls were mushed up meat in an egg roll wrap . But definitely won't come back here after having this place bookmarked for like 4-5 years and finally made it but won't come back here again. Way too many good ones to try .
