On the first day, we hiked two miles in to a remote alpine lake and I caught my first Arctic Greyling (and then 10 more and a dozen or so Yellowstone Cutthroats). On the second day, we spent the morning honing my casting skills on the Firehole River, catching over a dozen fat Rainbows and Browns. After lunch we hit the Gibbon for what Buddy called "feature water" where I caught a couple Westslope Cutthroats and bunch of hungry Browns on dry flies. 50 fish, 5 species in 2 days. There are some amazing flies, rods and aquariums in the different rooms of the museum. If you go during the summer make certain to get a tour by one of the interns. You will also want to check out the different types of trout in the aquariums. There are not many places where you can see a live cutthroat trout in their natural environment. It is also fun to see some of the different types of flies and how they have evolved over the last several decades.
