The path to the waterfall is also paved with asphalt so it's a smooth walk up and great for strollers. There are two vault toilets at the parking lot, and a small picnic area near the entrance of the parking lot. This is an amazing waterfall. Water cascades down a columnar basalt face so it's particularly stunning. I've seen amazing columnar basalt formations (Devils Tower, Devils Postpile), but none with a water element. It's very memorable. I saw some people trying to scramble up the rocks to get to the top of the waterfall, but I'm not sure how safe that is. From satellite photos it looks like there's just forest up there anyways.

All the way up is paved which makes the experience nicer and easier, if you're not looking to break a leg going up haha. The sunset up there are amazing and all pictures are Instagram worthy!!! I took my 70 year old grandma and she enjoyed the hike and even made it from start to finish. The ride there is a bit intense with many curves so I'd recommend to take a bag for those that may get car sick. I'll be coming back to Montana, just for this beauty!

Waste of time- drove from west Yellowstone to rent an inflatable kayak for a lake trip. We already…read moreowned a kayak but needed another one. It was a very simple design but no rudder. The boat is also very heavy and not compact. We got onto the lake and the boat wasn't even able to go straight (no rudder) and you have to paddle 3x as hard. We had to tie both kayaks together to get home. We originally rented it for two days and only could possibly use it for one, and had to cancel our second day trip of kayaking. It might be fine if you're floating down a river and don't need to paddle or steer. Plus sides were that it was really cheap and included lifejackets. And they wore masks which was nice.

We were trying out our new trailer, and we ended up in the best spot too! The store has most everything you need, and we visited it at least 10 times on the full day we were there. It's right down the road from the boat launch on canyon ferry lake, and they are so friendly! They even have a bunch family games you can borrow for free! We played ax throwing, gigantic connect 4, and corn hole, but there was a lot more like lawn darts and other stuff. The blonde lady that I didn't get her name, was so nice! And my friend Sue, from the Mint, she works there too, and it was wonderful! They even lent us a bbq so we could make dinner! And they drove it to our site! Really, it's hard to imagine them being any more accommodating to our family! Good job KOA! We will be back!
