I've loved Drift Away Nail Lounge for years! They have recently come under new management and the updates are fantastic. Jade gave me the best pedicure experience I've ever experienced. I am extremely ticklish on my feet, she was so careful not to torture me and gave the best foot massage I've ever had from a pedicure, my feet and legs melted in her hands. Her work was detailed and beautiful. Lyn did a fantastic job on my shellac fingernails. She cared about making sure they looked beautiful. I am so happy with everything. First time client and left happy and I will go back. Nail salon was spacious and clean with a lot of stations to get nails done. People who worked there were pleasant and greeted with pleasantry and were good at making conversation. I decided to upgrade to a special pedicure but don't feel I got the time of massage that I paid for. Was sort of disappointed about that. Nails turned out nice, toes look a little messy up close but not noticeable from a distance. Hands are nice but still a little rough around the edges. Place was nice, clean, modern and people working there pleasant so I will go back. Hopefully next time o can give them 5 star. Update!! Less than 5 days late my toes pedicure nails polish is coming off. Very disappointed! Should last more than 5 days. I have to lower my rating to 2 star! read more

I love this place for my toe nails but for my finger nails I don't recommend!! I did dip the last 2 times and both times they have hurt my cuticles. Moreso this second time when I said multiple times "ow." My cuticles are red a day later and I'm hoping they heal over the next couple of days. I'm not crazy about the look of the dip either. After the dip, she did a layer of the shellac gloss and had me put my nails in the shellac warmer thing (I can't remember the name). The previous time I did dip, it also hurt but not as bad. My nails looked great as well and I got so many compliments. So 3 stars for that reason. The pedicure was amazing. I did the citrus orange and it was very relaxing. She used real oranges as part of the pedicure! She also did an awesome shoulder massage when it was all done with. I wish I got her name. read more

I have been going to Drift Away for about a year and a half and won't go anywhere else. Ann is a total perfectionist and will go above and beyond to make your nails look perfect. The salon is very clean and takes great precautions during this awful Covid time. Their powder selections are vast and if you have a design in mind, Ann can do it! Pedicures are also amazing. This place is very nice and prices aren't bad. If you want trendy nails like the ones you see on Instagram or tik tok I'd suggest look for some place else cause most nail artists here are still stuck on trends back in 2015. One of the thinks that stick out to me most is just the shape of the nail and how nail is curved compared to when I go to a place that keeps up to date with trends cause straight nails are in if you know what I'm talking about. Overall, as long as you know what you're asking for it's fine but don't expect artsy or creative nails from this place. read more

sadly my 2nd experience wasn't great. Was never offered water or wine and came in at 6:20, I left at 7:45-- there is absolutely no reason 'already white tip' full set should take an hour and a half. Making me late to an event. Tracy was rough, and unfriendly. Rough when handling my hands and demanding me not to move and repeating multiple times "don't touch your hair" which I never did. I wish I had the same experience that I had the first time, but this was a major letdown. If you go, request Amy- she's the best. read more

Look at my nails and cuticles! These photos were taken 2 days after my manicure here. The nail tech's cuticle clippers were dull and she just pulled out my cuticles rather than trim them. Now I have bleeding hang nails. Ouch! The same nail tech pushed my cuticles back but then didn't start the nail polish there and my nails looked immediately grown out even though she had just painted them. I would never go her for manicure/pedicure services again. Beware. read more

Tracy did my pedicure and dip manicure. (btw they literally have a box of dip colors to pick from) She was super sweet and we had good conversation the whole time. I told her I was going on a trip with my boyfriend and she made sure that I not only loved my toes and hands but that they were vaycay perfect! Nice and quiet environment. Not impressed by the pedicure or manicure. Asked for the ice cold pedicure (don't remember the exact name). Nothing in my pedicure was cold. Which defeats the purpose of paying $47 for a specialty pedicure. My manicure was rushed. My original nails were left with rough edges. My nail technician was nice but only spoke when needed. This Place is AMAZING!! Tracy B. Has been taking care of my nails for almost 5 years now and I have not once been disappointed. She always does a great job not only on my pedicures, but on my dip nails as well. I have had great service and continue to go for my nails. The drinks (wine) are now watered down. The water are now tiny bottles. They do not turn on any tv's. I took my friend and some were on break in a separate pedicure room and they were watching a special wildlife series of animals killing other animals. They post on the door no public restroom and their cleanliness is not so great anymore. They do a great job on nails! But if you want amenities they are getting worse. My friend commented on how the whole staff spoke in their mother language yet no one could effectively communicate with us in English. It is obvious that the owners are no longer there and the experience for the customers is lacking. Lastly, as a woman who gets hot flashes it was hot. The temperature inside was in the high seventies. Since they do such a wonderful job on nails I will continue to go there, but extremely dissapointed on how fast it has changed for the worse. read more

Went here for a dipped manicure and a pedicure. I want feeling well but decided to go as a pick me up and I'm so glad I did. They get an incredible job. I did not have a good experience here. The place itself is very beautiful but My whole refill felt very rushed. Lynn did my nails and she seemed very inexperienced. She kept hitting my cuticles causing one of them to bleed. I told her I wanted my nails a little shorter than last time and she cut them below where my finger is!! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I just moved to Houston from Austin and was in desperate need of a nail place that actually did great work. By far this is the best place I've been to. My nails have never looked more healthy and they have such a great variety to choose from. They really put in effort into the work they do and they are always consistent. Cuticles nice and cleaned up every time. Ethan is so great and gentle and he does any shape soooo well. I came to this nail shop 9 days ago and had dip powder done on my nails. 3 days in my right index finger split halfway across...the dip not my actual nail. I didn't hit or damage that nail it just split. Other nails started to crumble on the edges after that. I went to a different nail salon today and the way they did the dip powder was much better. I would not recommend this location for dip nails. read more

Came in as a walk in for a mani pedi. Facility was nice and clean, and we were seen immediately. Pedicure was fine, nothing special but not a bad experience. The manicure was rough. In my opinion, the best judge of a nail technician is how they do on a natural nail manicure. No polish, just a nice shiny buff. Unfortunately, my tech at Drift Away used a buff bar that was WAY too rough and just ended up damaging my natural nails. She kept trying to push me to get colored polish, and I'm glad I refused. Last Friday 3/30/18, my second visit, I went in for a pedicure and a dip manicure. Pedicure was fine, but the manicure is what I have an issue with. Sunday, my thumb nail color completely popped off. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary and I thought this strange since it has never happened before so I just glued it back on. Then on Tuesday my index finger popped off and today Friday my other thumb nail popped off. Three nails in less than a week after getting them done. I never had this happen once, but three times with three different fingers. Needless to say I'm very disappointed. read more

The first time I went I was SO impressed- got a gorgeous set of intricate as heck nails from Ethan for $50; today I went and had some pretty simple nails done that cost $60. The girl, Michelle, also kept poking me with her nails, which looked unclean and were digging into my skin. Probably won't return with prices like this for a simple manicure. read more

Good Evening, as I have been a huge fan of this place for sometime and loved to promote it to clients and friends, I am sad to say We (my girls and I ) will probably not be going back. The last time I took my oldest she had grown her nails out so long so there were no more fake tips. It was all her natural nails. Super long super beautiful. I went in with her to explain we just wanted a acrylic overlay on her natural nails to keep them strong and protected. The first time it was fine. They had to grind down some which in my professional opinion... acetone to remove what you can first. But the nails looked nice. The second time she knew they were too long and and wanted a different shape. The woman grinded them down so low, she didn't use acetone, I also notice this last time for myself that the files were not very clean, and instruments are just being pulled out of drawers not sanitized. That concerns me... when she shaped them she used the grinder and not a nail file. We had gone up to pay and the guy and the woman that did my daughters nails were having words with each other about the price , he looked at my daughters nails and took off 3 dollars from the total... I was confused and the woman walked off angry and talking raising her hands in the air. They weren't even and my daughter wasn't happy at all. Yes the nails last for a long time and they are usually done quite well. So today my daughter had to take them off so she soaked them In Acetone , her nails are paper thin and has nothing left of the length. On her pinky she has a section of nail that had been filed so low when the nail came off, the skin is exposed on the nail in the middle of the nail bed. This is definitely not how she had desired for her nails to look. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I do feel this is necessary. Cleanliness is very important, and if you don't know how to do something properly then just say you can't do it. read more
