I heard about this shop when it opened, and finally managed to go in for a look the other day. I am quite the stationery fiend so I was really excited to see what I'd find here.
The shop is bright and appealing, and has heaps of vibrant stock to lure you in. Once I was in, I was a little confused. Where was everything good? The stock seemed to be a lot of stuff aimed at young kid - rubbers, puzzle balls, some crafty stuff, pens/pencils and brightly coloured paperclips. I just couldn't really see anything that useful that I thought "I need this!' To be honest, I found this store disappointing as it seemed to be a big store initially, but then the actual stock was just a lot of the same stuff.
I think to be a really good stationery store you need to carry a much bigger range - notepads, cards to start, possibly diaries, wrapping paper as well.
To top off the experience, the shop assistant was actually sitting at the til with her head in her hands, and wasn't greeting customers. She looked how I felt after 3 minutes in here. All in all, a pretty depressing experience for what could have been a great shop. read more
