We had Dreiske do our move out, store our possessions for six months and do our move into our new home. The crew was professional, polite and cautious with our property and the possessions that they were moving. The office staff were also polite and professional in handling our account. Their estimated charges were very closely aligned to the actual charges. The move in crew was efficient and assembled all items needed. They offered to do anything they could to help us. We appreciate their service. We had one minor lamp shade break but no big deal. The crew was always conscious of not tracking in dirt/mud. They covered the carpeting, put down pads on all walkways and removed their shoes when working in the home. We would highly recommend their services. read more

We had a great experience until we didn't. The overall move was great but when it came to a damaged item it's been a headache to say the least. When we had the original estimate we were excited for the fact they took inventory of every single high value item we had and factored it into a list of things to determine what we may pay for our move. It was made clear from our first meeting we were paying a high price for high quality moving, especially with having so many items of the value we had. One of those being a peloton. Knowing the company knew we had this item (they had it on the list when they first arrived) we assumed they came prepped and ready on the day of the move with the tools and people equipped to move it. the movers who were there told us they knew how to dissemble and assemble the peloton (after I offered to get someone out myself) they said they have done it many times before, and were capable. Well, they crushed the wires on the reassembling of it, and also failed to call their specialist they use to come out who regularly works on these, resulting in the complete damage of my 3k treadmill. I will say at first I was super delighted when they sent someone out to try and fix it, and was in constant communication with them during this time and was very pleased with the customer service, until they completely ghosted me (the technician, the owner, and the person who was helping me) and sent me to claims with no explanation, no updates, and no information on what's next in the process, I had to follow up and find the claims persons email myself and it's now been 3 weeks in total without me being able to use something I use every single day. We are afraid we might have to get our attorney involved. I don't even know what being sent to claims looks like because no one has taken the time to provide any further info for us. read more

My elderly parents had a less-than-favorable moving experience with Dreiske. I was there during the move and am writing this review on their behalf. The movers were courteous, but they did not take the time or effort to protect or wrap bed frames, dressers, the entertainment center, end tables, floor lamps, etc. Only two glass table tops were wrapped in padding. As a result, many furniture items were broken, damaged, chipped, and/or scuffed. Some is to be expected, but this seemed like more than average. I wrote to the company to express our dissatisfaction and received an immediate response. They were grateful for the feedback and assured us that this experience would serve as a learning opportunity for their staff. We appreciated the apology and acknowledgement that the service my parents received was not on par with what Dreiske promises. We were impressed that the company offered what seemed like a sincere apology and a promise to help make things right. Then it got weird: They sent a check that was framed as a refund of the additional liability coverage premium my parents had paid to protect their possessions--that framing made it seem more like an attempt to wipe the company's hands clean of any responsibility rather than a gesture of good faith. My parents could have filed a claim but decided it wasn't worth it (and they didn't want me to spend time on it either). They just wanted to put this behind them and look forward. Hoping this was a one-off, but it's unfortunate my parents' experience had to be the one. Attached are examples of the damages. read more

I feel like they did a good job with the handful of furniture (including a couple large antique pieces) that we had moved locally. Everything was wrapped well and arrived in the same condition. The two men were friendly. They arrived on time. I only gave 4 stars because they seemed a bit on the slow side, but I'd rather that than having the job rushed with such old pieces. The main issue was that I was quoted a 3 hour job and charged 4.5 hours. They stopped for lunch between locations and I know they took 30+ as I had left the first location well after they had left and I arrived at the second location at least 30 minutes before they did. So, I was charged for their lunch break. read more

If I could separate stars for coordination of our move, and the actual experience on move day they would be 2 stars and 5 stars. The estimate, communication and preparation for the move was great, no complaints. On move day, the guys were nice, and worked hard, though they delivered alot of boxes to areas other than where the boxes were marked. There was an accident where a couple lamps were dumped from the truck to the ground, but I suppose that kind of thing can happen. The worst for us was that after we got to the new house, we were told that they forgot to load or bring over the entire master closet! We were closing on the old house and ended up having to enlist help and make several trips in our cars to empty the closet, along with the rest of the clean-up of the property. Several hours we had not planned into our schedule. After all the chaos, I asked myself why did I have to do that, and they did not have to go back to get what was left behind!? My fault I guess for not complaining that day, but when I did report it I got a sorry about the lamps, but not ONE word expressing regret over the goods left behind! I think there should have been some compensation made and certainly a minimum of oh my gosh we're sorry!! read more

Horrible experience. dropped a piece of furniture costing $1500 and despite buying the upgraded insurance, they would only settle for $350 or they'd "pound it out" and if we didn't like it, we'd get nothing. My freezer chest got dented, furniture has large knicks. Their staff worked hard, but they were careless, in a hurry and inexperienced. I know moving is hard, but we've moved before and never had the damage we received on this move. when I questioned the scratches, gouges and dents the reply was "they were likely already there". We had used Dreiske Moving in the past and were very satisfied. They are now under new ownership and our last experience was the worst ever. If you value your belongings, we suggest you don't use Dreiske. They subcontract with people to do the loading and unloading and there is little supervision. They damaged many of our cabinets from a collection we had. They dumped things upside down, stacked fragile marked boxes on the bottom of the stack, etc. It was a very stressful move. The insurance is a joke. We chose not to pay extra for good coverage and that was a mistake. The coverage that they give is basically nothing, so it doesn't seem to matter to them if they damage your property. The crew they had to unload the trucks was disrespectful and used foul language. They just wanted to get done and were not careful at all. Simply, they don't care about your property. I could say more, but enough - we don't recommend using them. read more

On the move out, everything went smoothly. The move into the new home was a different story. Many pieces of furniture were taken apart and not put back together properly. Some furniture was completely destroyed and no longer usable. Lastly, damage was done to our new home. Have tried to reach out to Dreiske in regards to all of these issues, and they refuse to respond to any calls or emails. If you value your belongings and home, look elsewhere for a mover. read more

Just moved for the first time in 25 years. Didn't know who to call so I did a quick search and called the first one on the list. Long story, short, that turned out to be a bad idea. They would either not call back when I left messages or they would call back more than two hours late. Next I called Dreskie. They answered right away and were at my home the next day to go over the move and provide an estimate. They were right on time the day of the move and did an outstanding job. They took really good care of our belongings. Definitely would recommend them and will call them again the next time I move in 25 years. read more

Had another moving company cancel at the last minute. They were there to help last minute, so we give them that. Was quoted and accepted price When they showed up and saw all that needed to b moved. It took longer than expected and they said they were going to charge overtime chargers which were never discussed. We did not pay the overtime. So, refuse to pay unless it is agreed in advance. When they were done and left, I noticed one of my TVs turned backwards facing the wall, and that it was that way because they shattered the screen and thought we wouldn't notice. I have been in the hospital so I have not unpacked all the rest. Who knows how much more is broke. In their defense, Andrew, Max and Louis, we're very courteous and professional. The move for a small one bedroom apartment, albeit more stuff than usual, but by no means the amount of a two bedroom apartment, cost us around $2200.00! read more

On Clark street, the moving service parked the moving truck and extended the moving ramp from the road, across the bike ramp and onto the sidewalk. Everyone who used the bike lane had to stop, go around the ramp and the truck, wade into oncoming traffic, and then back to the bike lane. Workers were unwilling to move. This was such a needless danger. read more

I used T.H. Rogers, a division of Dreiske Moving, to store and deliver furniture for a vacation home. I worked with Terry Rogers and his associate, Roxanne. While discussing my situation, Terry Rogers informed me that he was also a dealer for Ashley Furniture and that he could order items to be added to the delivery. I ordered several pieces. While the delivery of furniture went without a hitch, TERRY ROGERS STOLE MY MONEY for 2 chairs that I purchased via his Ashley Furniture account. I paid in full at the time of the order. Emails, phone calls, nothing has worked. It's been going on now for nearly a year at this point. NO CHAIRS. NO REFUND. Terry Rogers simply lies, and lies, and lies about his intent to refund my money. I have an outstanding compliant on this with the Better Business Bureau, and of course he lied to them too, promising he was sending a check, no he has not. I've also filed with the IL Consumer Fraud Bureau. UPDATE: Have just received a final response from the BBB. No surprise, the company FAILED TO RESPOND TO THE 2ND CONTACT FROM THE BBB. 2ND UPDATE: Finally received a refund check after sharing this review with the company. read more

We used them to move two rooms of furniture from my mother-in-law's place in Wheaton to our home. My wife contacted them and was given clear estimates of cost per hour and extra charges that would be applied. They were able to schedule the move at a very convenient date, and warned us since the pickup was so far away, there might be another job mixed in with ours. Kind of like sharing the limo. We did not mind. Gavin and Steve were on time for the pickup and respected the complicated assisted living facility moving rules. They loaded up quickly, and started for another pickup that was scheduled. At some point, they called and said they were waiting for some assistance at the site of other pickup and apologized for the delay. They called when they left for our house, with a good time estimate. Then they called when they were pulling up. We were moving some items into a neighbor's home for storage, and they happily split the items between the two homes. They worked fast and professionally. The final bill was where we expected it to be based on the transit and packing times - no surprises. The reason I am giving 4 stars only is to encourage the office folks to pick up their game. This was hands down the best experiance I have had with a company... This was also my first experaince using movers. They were very accomodating.. I had to reschedule my move, and they had no problem doing that. On the day of the move Chris, Randy and Brad showed up right on time. Walked through my house and let me know how they would like to move things. Then asked if I had any concerns with that. I didn't. So they started hauling away. That team of guys was incredibly efficieant, not only that. You could tell they worked well together. They all seemed to, for lack of a better term, "Whistle while they worked." Just meaning they had fun while they were doing everything. They were extremely carful, also were very accomodating with making sure they placed everything where my wife wanted it when we got to the new house. All in all..... We used them to move about 6 year ago, so when we needed to move again, we called based on our experience. They were able to fit us in last minute. They were very efficient. I was very impressed at the attention to detail Carlos had when placing things. We had to move our stuff into storage and will move again in the next month. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is there was a book shelf that was damaged that I saw as they moved things into the storage. When I pointed it out, they made good on it. There is nothing more then I can ask for. Things happen and they resolved it. Plus I love using local companies and supporting the community. Will use them again in a month! read more

We have moved houses at least 7 times over the past 17 years. The move with A-Dreiske was by far our worst. The estimator (one of the owners) came to our home to calculate the estimate after viewing the contents of our home. On moving day, it became apparent that the wrong size truck and crew had been estimated, and they wanted to charge us more for a second truck and additional crew. Feeling taken advantage of, we "negotiated" another crew member but decided against the additional truck (would have been another $120+ per hour). This pissed off the crew leader, so we had to listen to his profanities and complaining for the rest of the (very long) day. The rest of the crew was just fine, but the leader was rude, had a terrible attitude, and was less than careful with our belongings. A large amount of our belongings was left behind at the house we moved from, and we later had to arrange to move it ourselves. It was the most stressful and painful move we've ever experienced. For all of these reasons, I would never use this company again, nor would I recommend it to anyone, ever. read more

She has several antiques and irreplaceable items and all were moved with the utmost care. She also has a piano that was moved.
