First of all, this review is LONG overdue. I first had the pleasure of working with Drea last year. She did my glam (hair and makeup) for a Hollywood premiere party, and not only was I completely blown away by how easily & accurately she executed EXACTLY what I wanted, but I was instantly comfortable in her presence and found her extremely easy to talk to and vibe with. There's not enough words to even express how thankful I am to have had Drea as my makeup artist! Drea is literally the kindest, most hardworking and greatest. Her work is STELLAR and she treats all her clients like they are her own family. Drea was a God send. I don't know what good karma I did to get her for my wedding week. It was hectic alone planning my wedding in 3 months, and I was on the verge of crying because I felt like I had to settle with a Bay Area HMUA. 2 Bay Area trials and instead of feeling confident I was feeling more self conscious and each time I couldn't help but find myself on Drea's Instagram page looking at her brides. If I could put 0 stars, I would. She cancelled on me for makeup and hair TWO WEEKS before my bridal event. Her excuse was that a prior client changed their appointment and isn't being flexible. Rather than doing the professional thing and telling the client "sorry, your mistake. I already have a contract with another client during that time." she instead dropped me. My guess is that it has to do with money. Where do I even begin? I have been married 7 years now, and so my husband and I finally decided to take wedding photos we never got. We decided to get the best vendors we could find! We thought we were getting the right photographer, and outfits, and henna, but really it was Drea that made everything perfect. On the day of our photos Drea arrived early, she remembered everything we talked about months ago ( this was booked since last year ) and got right to work. She made it seem effortless! The attention to detail, and the talent she has is unmatched. My makeup stayed on throughout the entire shoot, not a single touch up was needed. No smeared lipstick, no running eyeliner ( it was really hot ) and my hair was beyond anything I could have imagined! All she had to go off of was one photo I saved from Instagram months ago, she made it look better than the photos, it was unreal. The beautiful curls both pinned for the main photos and the Hollywood curls stayed for hours without needing a single spray. She helped me with my jewelry, the pinning of my duputta, and even fixed my top when the hook broke off right before we were about to leave, talk about the right person for these series of events. The reason I will forever sing praises of who drea is, is what happens next. Our photography vendor ( big name vendor ) dropped the ball and did not secure a permit to the venue we picked over 8 months ago. Not only did they not secure the venue, but also failed to mention it to us prior to showing up even though they knew an hour prior to start time. When we had to quickly find another area to shoot in, drea calmed me down, reminded me that regardless I look amazing so the photos no matter where they're taken will come out amazing. After that fiasco we were offered a complimentary hour shoot to make up for their mistake. Of course I could not do the shoot without drea! Once we had the shoot planned AGAIN, I couldn't get an outfit! With such short notice I tried expediting an outfit, I tried going to the mall, but with prom season in full chaos, it was impossible. With me losing hope Drea stepped in and pulled some strings to get me a sample piece from a store for photos. I will never forget what she's done for me, and the lengths she went to make sure this was everything I envisioned. Drea was such an amazing person to get me ready for my wedding events. She was honestly hands down the BEST vendor and I really cannot stress how happy and lucky I was to have her there right before each of my events. In terms of her actual skill, she is extremely talented. I wanted to have my makeup done but still look exactly like myself, and she did that! I looked just like me, but enhanced. I did not feel cakey, the makeup did not stain or run all over the place, and she was fast! With the hair, she was also so talented and was able to create the exact looks I wanted by just photos or me explaining what general look I was going for. Typically South Asian wedding makeup can be too much or look artificial, but she made me look awesome on 4 hours of sleep, and so I owe her everything. After months of stalking Drea's instagram all I wanted was my name to be in her captions! I quickly hired her to do my engagement shoot makeup and one of my wedding events- mehndi. Where do I even begin with Drea... looking back at my wedding (now almost 7 months ago) she is most definitely one of the vendors that I truly couldn't have gone without. Drea did my engagement shoot hair/makeup long before my wedding week + from this day we both knew we would have so much fun together at the wedding.
