Really disappointed having to write this review but wedding planning is stressful so it's important that my review is public so that other brides can see my experience. I initially booked Drea after reading really good reviews about how she is empathetic, kind and easygoing; however, this was not my experience with her at all. I booked Drea for my wedding like 16 months in advance and had to postpone my wedding by 8 days due to my venue's availability. She said she was free on my new wedding date and as we had finally signed the contract, she emails me saying that she has a "family wedding" on my new wedding date and only refunds me half of my deposit. She blamed me that she couldn't find a bride for the old wedding date.... which is a year from now... Please note that this is all a year before the actual wedding date!!! My planner contacted her and tried to reason with her about the deposit and she was completely unapologetic for keeping half of the deposit, after she ended up cancelling on me for my new wedding date. Moral of the story, she's clearly good at what she does. But if you don't want additional stress with another vendor out of the several vendors that have to be managed in the wedding planning process, then she's not the one for you. She will put a lot of pressure on you (the bride) to sign the contract urgently even if you've connected your wedding planner with her as well. Securing vendors has gotten so hard because of the domino effect from COVID, and it's important that the people involved in your special day are empathetic and reasonable. Beware! This review is 2 years delayed but just a testament of Drea's aura that after my one and only acquaintance with her, I've never stopped thinking about how she made me feel and will forever root for her success! I'm from Dallas but was visiting LA and decided to book a maternity shoot while there. After reaching out to a few MUA for a last minute sesh with no luck, my sis in law connected me to Drea who had done her wedding several yrs back. Drea was quick to respond, and squeezed me in last minute. She met me early morning at the photographer's studio, got me ready, and slayed my looks of course. But what stays with me after all this time is the way she was so calming and supportive. Before the photographer got there I was nervous. She was a high profile celebrity photographer and I have no experience in front of the camera. Drea helped build my confidence and stuck around until the photographer got there so I wouldn't have to face her alone. The photographer was absolutely lovely but quiet. Drea stuck around some more to help me change in and out of my outfits. She touched up my makeup, redid my hair for the different outfits and was my hype woman through the whole shoot! Our agreement was she'd do my hair and makeup then leave and I'd be by myself changing into my outfits but I was also very pregnant and I'm just so grateful she stuck around to help. If I could give 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat! Drea was the very first vendor I signed with (before even signing the venue contract) and I would do it all over again if needed. The existing reviews already all say it - Drea is a true professional who is so good at her job and her portfolio and examples of work are clear evidence of that. What you won't see in the photos though is the level of care and attention she provides for each of her brides. Oh man where do I begin with this woman? I was in the wedding industry a few years ago so I may be bias here but when I had my first event of 2022 Drea was the first person I called. I booked her for 9 out of 10 events and the only reason why I couldn't get the 10th event was my own fault. If you are a Bride considering using Drea for your big day - stop looking at other hair and makeup artists and just book her. She is AMAZING. I booked her I think a year in advance just because she was the only person I wanted doing my hair and makeup. This review is overdue - I had booked Drea for my wedding which was in April 2023. It was an Indian wedding, so there were 3 hair and makeup looks that were needed for me; hair and makeup for my mom, sister, and mother in law for 3 looks; and then hair and makeup for 8 bridesmaids on the wedding day. Indian weddings are absolute hurricanes, and mine was no different. But Drea was the calming presence in the middle of the storm that kept me sane. There was drama on my wedding day with my mother in law on the mandap during my pheras, and I came back to my room after the ceremony close to crying. Drea helped calm me down, and I can say with 100% certainty that if she wasn't there, I would have been a hot mess during the reception. She is so good and reading energy levels - I went from angry to close to crying and wasn't even facing her in the chair, and she asked me if I was okay. I was shocked - she's that in tune with Brides where she'll know if your energy level shifts. And she'll talk you down and bring you back to a happy place. You NEED this on your wedding day. You need a friend that will be in your corner no matter what, and that was Drea. She had me pumped up, looking like a superstar, and ready for the reception in 2 hours. I've been following Drea for a long time on IG before I started wedding planning. She was the very first vendor I ran to book when I confirmed my dates and I was so happy she was available to do my sangeet, wedding, and reception looks, as well as my mom and MILs. During my trial, all I told her was that I wanted a bun for the wedding. She just looked at a photo of my lehenga and literally created the most perfect look for my makeup. I was sooooo excited to see it all come together on the big day. For both days, sangeet and wedding, I felt like myself. I didn't feel like I had a ton of makeup on, and I didn't feel "cakey" - two things that were really important to me. We played around with different styles for each of the events and I appreciated that I looked different in all 3 of my looks. We did peachy/pinky vibes for sangeet, a "royal/regal" look for the ceremony, and a darker look for the reception, all with different hair styles. So I definitely had a lot of variety and I loved it. She also had a last minute bomb idea to add orchids to my bun, which ended up being my favorite part of the ceremony look! More than anything I was so happy that my mom loved her looks. She isn't someone that normally wears a lot of makeup and was apprehensive, but watching her receive compliments left and right on her hair/makeup was the sweetest thing. A month after our wedding and I'm still thinking about how phenomenal Drea and her team were for the full 9 days of both of our weddings! Planning two weddings was extremely difficult but the easiest decision was choosing Drea and her team for hair and makeup but they did so much more than that. They were the energy and support we needed at 2 am hair and makeup calls. They were the calm we needed when things started to get crazy (as they always tend to do with weddings) and they still managed to bring the laughter to our group. I don't know where to begin, but Drea was absolutely wonderful to work with! Drea took such great care of me and my family throughout my wedding week. She did my hair and make-up for my engagement photos, pre-wedding events and my wedding ceremony/reception.
