Dream Massage worked like a dream! When it comes to massages I'm rather picky. I like a clean, quiet, and professional facility. And most importantly, it needs to get the job done. I don't need a fancy massage that's all bells and whistles and no substance. I want to leave feeling like my muscles were really rubbed and things are back in their respective places. Marshel at Dream Massage did just that! I arrived early and it wasn't a problem. Yay! Marshel made small talk with me and led me back to the massage room. There weren't any other clients, so the place was super quiet (double yay!). We chatted about where I was having issues and she confirmed that she would spend the majority of her time on that problem. Several hot stones and 50 minutes later I walked out feeling like a brand new person. It took a few more hours of a warm compress and soaking bath, but the next day it was like I never had a problem. I attribute that all to the amazing talents of Marshel. Her strong hands and attention to detail during the massage made it one of the best I've ever had. While the prices are a tad higher than most, (my massage was $60), it was well worth it. read more

The massage was great! But the lady that massaged me had a friend in the back who was trying to press me for more tip. WTF this is one of those massage followers that will try to jack you off too. Be advised. They are up to some shady stuff. I would've gave you guys five stars if you wouldn't have tried to press me at the end for more money after I already gave you 25%. I should've gave you nothing. read more

Dream Massage - A hand job factory - Beauty & Spas Near Me - Bakersfield, California

All the masseuse are excellent, they are attentive, helpful and kind. Regular customer.

Well I was going to leave 3 stars but the end experience is making me leave 1. Wish I could leave ZERO! I first told the lady I only like from my waist up so a whole hour is spent in my neck area because I have a lot of neck pain. She did my full body. So whatever. Staff was all talking so it wasn't relaxing. It was freezing with the AC on me and a tiny towel to cover me. She worked so fast it wasn't even relaxing. Turn the relaxing music up . Wasn't relaxing one bit. I was annoyed. I left a $3 tip at the end and she looked at me and my tip I left her and gave me a look like "what's this" as if that wasn't a good enough tip. So rude. Will never go back! read more

Amazing! My experience was a nice clean environment with incredible massage therapist. Professional and thorough.

Located on Meany in a discreet little strip where the sounds of traffic are low makes this a perfect spot. Upon entry I was greeted by a young lady who asked what I wanted I told her the hour long service. She pointed to the sign I said yes and she asked credit or cash. I haven't had a massage where you pay first but I did. She pointed to the room and walked away. I went to a room with the door opened lights dimmed. The service was mediocre at best. The masseuse hands were very dry at times she finally see some oil instead of lotion. The was no pressure at all. It was more like a rub down. The beat part was the scalp massage and the pressure points on my feet. After the massage I was asked if I wanted to tip and she handed me my receipt. I will tip in cash I informed her. This practice of paying first then add tip later felt odd. If you are looking for a run down I guess it's okay. I like more of an atmosphere that adds to my experience with some aromatherapy, actual massage oils, and a little better communication. I won't be going back read more

Will not return. If you're truly looking for just a massage do not come here. You're better off going elsewhere as this place is nothing like it used to be. read more

This was the most awful experience. they put me in the utility/shower room. They had a bucket underneath the shower that was dripping with water the entire time And it smelt like mildew. I was afraid to take my shoes off as this was shower room but held all buckets and supplies and stacks Of crates. The ambiance was horrible, there was no lighting besides the massage therapists phone she kept texting on during my massage. there was no music just the sound of a leaky faucet or shower head Dripping into a bucket. I arrived at 2:10 ans paid for an hour massage. she Ended the massage at 2:50. nothing about this massage was relaxing. read more

I called ahead of time for a 60 minute massage and when I got there, she told me she only had time for a 30 minute massage and I said I would come back another time then she said "Fine I can do 60 minute but I'll charge you extra." She also wanted me to pay before my massage and took a phone call during my massage!!!!! As I was leaving I left a small tip because the massage was nice and she said I needed to leave a bigger tip! DO NOT GO HERE read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience here. We showed up they accept cash only. We asked if they had an ATM, they didn't understand English enough to tell us no. They just pointed outside. So we left and got cash at the bank. Came back paid for the service first. Which is strange. I've never had to pay for a massage before getting the massage. I've been getting massages for the past 13 years. We went into the room they said they would be back. They didn't have sheets to cover up with so we weren't sure to dress all the way down to our underwear or not. During our massage the two masseuses kept talking to each other. I asked my girl to not massage my arms and to use that time on my back. She proceeded to do my arms 2 times. Once when I was on my front and once while I was on my back. I had to tell her no again. The massage itself was not good. I think this person had to be new to this OR just that bad. She barely did any pressure. Just pointless to be honest. The relaxing music stopped mid massage so we kept hearing them talking or loud sounds in the spa and the loud door opening and closing. My husbands masseuse walked out of the room mid massage twice. He swears there were 3 different people that were completely different pressures when they came back from leaving the room. Due to them being a little pricier than your typical Asian massage place, and the service being terrible, we were not going to tip them. I have never not tipped for a massage in the past. On our way out we said thank you and were heading out and one of the women bombarded us questioning where her tip was. I said I'm sorry but I don't have any more cash. She said you need tip. We do service. You tip. Now. I said I'm sorry but we don't have more cash. She said this is not good and was yelling. Such an unprofessional business. DO NOT waste your time or money!!! read more

My wife and I frequently go here for couples massages and I go weekly on my own. They are very professional and they do a great Job!! The owner is great and cares about her customers experience! Horrible massage the word I have ever gotten it's expensive and it's a bad massage please save your money and go elsewhere BEWARE. The front desk tried to blame me for the reason I got a bad massage cause I didn't say stop it's a bad massage. Funny I paid and I got bad service but it's my fault. Don't go here ever. read more

Went for one hour massage. Very friendly and they actually went over an hour. I went in with a sore back that she focused very well on. Great job. I will definitely go back soon. Great location. read more

Was kind of disappointed in this place ! The ladies were nice enough - but the inside is obviously in the middle of repair and rundown. English wasn't spoken or understood very well , so that did not Help - I had a problem area so I needed a quick fix and it seem like she completely avoided the area even though I told her my issue :( It's unfortunate because if it could've been something convenient but definitely not worth it She also asked if I was going to tip her on the way out ( not sure if that was due to the broken English and delivery... ) Not impressed read more

Had a great massage and the staff was very polite and friendly. The place was clean.

Worst experience ever. I like to treat myself with massages every so often, so when my boyfriend said he had never had one I thought a random spur of the moment massage would be a great experience. Fast forward to us calling random locations at 8:45pm, and lord and behold we got lucky with this place. When I called I told her I'd would be 2 30min massages, and she quoted me $80 Different story when we arrived. We get there and they claim they only have room for 1, and I started to get worried and then suddenly she is like never mind we can take you in but you have to pay first. Ok, cool no problem, there's a big sign stating this so I wasn't too alarmed. Now here's where things get interesting, after waiting for around 5-10 minutes for them to prep a dual room, they take us back and tell us to get read... not even 1 minute after putting us in the room they're already knocking "ready?" My boyfriend just looked at me alarmed because even he felt awkward. They left us alone for another 2 minutes, by that time we got the hint and had undressed and laid down. When they finally came into the room, they were laughing and talking the whole time, and periodically would speak through the door. Now I don't mind a small conversation here and there, but this was in the middle of a massage that we paid for?!?! Seriously? Now let's talk about skills, or in this case- lack thereof skills. I got the vibe that they didn't want to be there, and her skills were terrible, when I tried to give her tips on what felt good to me, this lady legit put her elbow on my neck and when I tried to move it she pressed down harder. I got the hint and didn't ask again. When the massage was over they all cornered us ask asked for a tip, I gave them a piece of my mind and they got mad and kicked us out. read more

Worst place ever! Literally paid for half hour and got 13 min and then demanded tip! Smh. I would never ever go back there again ! Save your money && time .. go somewhere else .!! read more

Great massage I highly recommend this place. I will return frequently. Very professional and very clean facility.

Made an appointment for the same day and was told they had a spot for two and even though they weren't excepting the Groupon we had they said they would give us a deal. When we arrived we were told that they were too busy, didn't have our reservation, and tried to send us to another location. The employees spoke to each other loudly and kept looking at us like we were inconveniencing them. We ended up leaving and finding a much more accommodating spot down the street. read more

I don't know where to start. I took my mom for a massage and we got like 20min massage. the lady kept on walking out. needless To say but this is not a regular massage place, unless you are a man looking for a happy ending. The place was dirty. all we could hear was men coming in and out. read more

Worst service ever. These freaking people are greedy for the money and can't provide any service. They lure everyone in, say they have opening but when you get there a person who doesn't speak any English says "I busy". I CALLED before going, she told me to come in 10 mins. I get to the Meany location and the lady tells me she is 'busy' and told me to go to Coffee location. She assures MULTIPLE times that they have "someone available" and "it's only 5 mins away". I get to that location and it's the SAME BS. What kinda of bullshiT business practice is this. If you don't have time, say it on the phone. Don't make someone drive around --NOT ONCE BUT TWICE?!?! Have some regard for other people time!!! Have some honesty and integrity... read more

The place advertised "Walk-ins Welcome". I decided to try them out. After encountering a rather noisy alarm consisting of chimes and other noise makers alerting everyone in the place that the front door was opened, I inquired about getting a "Deep Tissue Massage". Both the manager and employee openly refused to accommodate me and rudely argued who's turn it is, I said I changed my mind and proceeded to walk out. The manager yelled at me and asked why was I leaving and I explained "I see by both of your responses neither of you want me as a client and argued about it in front of me. I'm not comfortable with this scenario and so I'm leaving. The manager literally followed me out to my car and demanded a better explanation of why I was leaving. I have never, ever, encountered a manager follow me to my car demanding an explanation. I explained again that neither of you wanted me as a client and argued about it in front of me, which is very unprofessional in ANY business settings. The manager cursed me out and walked back across the parking lot to her store. I knew at this point, for me, this is a dangerous safety and security issue involving this particular business enterprise and that that I definitely don't want to do business with them ever. read more

Will not go back again. Made an appointment for 2pm but called to see if they could take us a 1/2 hour earlier. They said yes but then we still had to wait for our appointment time. Could have been doing anything but sitting in their waiting room til they were ready. Had to prepay then were told there was a $2 charge for debit cards. We are seeing this more now but we know it doesn't cost that for the business to run a credit or debit card. Wasn't happy about that. While we were waiting two employees started arguing in their language right in front of us. Totally unprofessional. When they were ready they brought us to the wrong room. We had asked for two single rooms not two single beds in a single room. They showed me to another room then moved me again to a different one. Glad I hadn't already undressed. Massage was ok...not as good as others I've had. When we were leaving they asked us about a tip. Since we didn't really understand their broken English we asked several times what they were asking us. They got a bit huffy demanding their tips. We said we just paid their facility $60 and they said they didn't get paid by the business...only thru tips. I have never had anyone demand a tip...supposed to be a voluntary payment not mandatory. Place wasn't as clean and nice as others I've been to either. Save your money or look for another massage location. We won't be back! read more

Not the best place I've been too, and the price is way to high for what you receive. Pros: good location, friendly staff Cons: expensive, non-quite rooms, the massage was not deep enough for me, non-English speaking staff read more

I called and asked if they accept walk ins. I was told yes. I arrived at 7:40 p.m. with my husband. I purchased one hour/ $60 full body massage. We were taken to the back and waited until 8:00 p.m. for the massage. The massage ended at 8:35 p.m., abruptly. Both ladies rushed my husbands and my massage. They also required a tip for the massage and would not exchange the massage for the 30 minute session, since that is all we received. read more

Massage is so important to me.. I was hoping this could be our new go-to place but I am unsure right now. I did have a good massage - Marshel seems to know her stuff. Even for a 30 minute appointment, she incorporated some nice hot rock therapy at her own doing. She has strong hands, perfect if you need deep tissue/harder pressure. She is also very personable and friendly. The issue is that having an appointment is pointless. It is also a walk-in business which means that even if they have enough staff to cover your appointment, if a walk-in comes in, the appointments have to wait (their reasoning is in case the appts do not show up) . The masseuses are on call so as they called one in for us, we had to wait 35 min for her to get there. Then as we are trying to relax her cell phone went off loudly and scared the %$^&*() out of us. I do like the walk-in idea for convenience but I feel they need better coverage until they close (10pm). More expensive here than other places. Rooms are OK, we laid on beds that were comfortable enough but on a towel and not a sheet. There is a small sheet to cover yourself with but it is thread bare. They do accommodate couple's massages. I may try the other location up on Calloway but they too do the on-call thing for therapists. I am on the fence. We waited longer for our massage than the massage was and still felt compelled to tip. The lady called in was apologetic and things happen but there was no offer for a discount even for next time so I feel 3 stars is being generous. read more

I try to get massage 2xs a month and I try different places to find the right person to get my massages from so far no luck. Bakersfield is just filled with these crappy cookie cutter places that say they offer a massage but all they try to do is take your money, short your time, not relaxing because she was talking to someone in the other room, and straight trashy. I have to say its just another one of those hustle for tips places and theres no real massage. I think this place should be looked into by the BPD. read more

Back and neck pain are something that I have to live with due to years of work. Massage is a regular part of my well being. Bakersfield has a huge selection of parlors, and the real problem is that a lot of the masseuses are not licensed and clearly don't know how to give a massage. So if you want to go to one of those $20 an hour places, best believe you'll get what you pay for. Since finding Dream Massage, it has been just that: a dream. I have never had a bad massage. The masseuses focus on your pressure points. They incorporate hot stones and back walking if you prefer. If I had to complain about anything, I'd say that occasionally they are super busy and you have to wait longer than anticipated. Both locations have quality masseuses but so prefer this location because it's typically not as packed. Remember, 10 massages and the 11th is half off! read more

Nice, clean and easy to find location. I made an appointment yesterday and they were ready and expecting me this morning. Sixty dollars for a wonderful one hour massage is very reasonable. She asked me if I wanted a medium or hard massage and I told her medium. She was all over me and the massage table making sure my muscles were taken care of. She used a hot wet towel on each area she worked on so I came out of there with moist skin that was not oily. i highly recommend Dream Massage. read more

This was hands down the best massage I've had in town. My massage therapist was professional and friendly and, quite honestly, one of the more knowledgeable therapists that I've had here in Bakersfield. For me personally, I like being told what they are doing and why. For example, "this hot towel that I'm applying does this.." or "this spot on your foot is an acupressure point for the a nerve in your spine.." The salon is in a perfect location from my house (walking distance, which doesn't mean I'll walk) and has hours that can accommodate most (open till 10 most nights). read more

I love massages, but never will I go to this location. Hardly anyone speaks english. The owner I believe she was the owner speaks so fast I didn't understand what the hell she's talking about. She's rude and unprofessional. Anyhow, I have a health condition and occasionally I get myself a massage to ease my pain. Unfortunately, I honestly believe the massage therapist I had or any of them for that matter are not mentally capable to handle someone with a health condition. The sheets are so thin. Just nasty. The therapist covered me with a towel. Im dissatisfied for $60. Wasn't worth it. I felt like I wasted my money coming here. I was in pain and needed some relief I took the massage out of desperation. These Asian Massage places are usually questionable, and is known for probably giving happy endings. I don't care if this place is close to my house. I'm not coming back. read more

I work 12 hour days and needed a massage bad!! This place was amazing made all my tension go away..very good!!!

Nice experience. This is one of the few places I've found where you can get a masseuse who will "walk" on your back. Don't knock it until you've tried it. They also offer to wash you down afterward to remove the oil. This was strange, at first, but harmless and thoroughly enjoyable. read more

No place to set your clothes, pretty sure the lady had never given a massage before. She put lots of pressure directly on my spine and kidneys, worst massage I've gotten in Bakersfield. read more

Lots of potential but disappointed. Very nice people but one was very unprofessional. Texting and answering phone calls during a one hour massage is a lack of courtesy and consideration for the person and the amount of money spent, especially when the money is spent on four interruptions that amount to several minutes of no massage service. And no discount?! Won't be returning. read more

If I could give it a 0 I would. Needless to say I won't be going back. The part of the bed to rest your head had no padding. I left there with a bigger headache than when I arrived but most importantly the massage was far less than ok. Not only did she not speak a word of English, it seemed as though she has no idea what she was doing. What a waste of $60 and an hour. read more

I've got massages here a couple of times when I was struggling with a bad headache. Both massage therapist were extremely professional (a female the first time and male the second time). They had two very different styles, but both relieved some of the pressure from my headache. A bit pricer than some, but worth it! read more

Very bad service! And the massage wasn't not even relaxing, after massage got done the lady I could not understand what she was saying after she pull out an receipt from another customer and started saying I want tip, when I told her I only had $60 cash for the full body massage she started yelling at me in front of another co worker, and her co worker was all confused and I politely told her I honestly didn't have any tip to give her and I told her I didn't know that was a mandatory tip was required and said 20% tip is required when getting a massage and when I told her when I booked an appointment I wasn't told I have to pay extra, very bad business here I would not recommend this place at all..I'll just go next time to real massage place, hands of joy massage in 24th are really good and their prices are half price less what they charged me here...never again come here at dream massage! Stay away from this place! read more
