However, by the end, we had a full 2-minute choreographed dance that felt very true to us and matched our song perfectly! She also helped us to learn the proper posture for the dance, and she helped Jonathan know how to step so that he wouldn't end up stepping or tripping on my ballgown on the big day! I first want to say that Anna was an incredible dance instructor and 100% worth the time! I have recommended her to other friends who are wedding planning as well. I actually hired Anna to help me choreograph a father-daughter dance. My dad has never danced before, and was nervous about being on the spot at my wedding. We met up with Anna at a ballroom studio in San Jose- the studio has multiple dance floors and smaller rooms as well, perfect for one-on-one instruction. Since I was driving down from Sacramento to attend the lessons, we only had enough time to do 1-hour lessons on two separate weekends (2 hours total). I felt like it was enough time to give us the basic choreography and also polish it a little bit. Our first class with Anna was a 1 hour session- I connected my phone to the classroom speakers via Bluetooth and played my chosen music on Spotify (Celine Dion - because you loved me). Anna first taught us proper posture/footwork for the dance. She then came up with some choreography to match the music, which was also appropriate for our novice skill level, but still looked elegant. Our second class was also a 1 hour session- my mom joined us as well (she also wanted to dance with me at my wedding)! Anna asked me to bring the shoes I would be wearing at the wedding so I could practice the steps in my heels. Anna helped us figure out timing of the music to wrap up my dance with my dad and then transition to dancing with my mom. At the end of the lesson, she recorded the full choreography for us so we could review and practice at home. On my wedding day, our dances went well and we got many compliments from guests-- but most importantly, we had so much fun. It was an incredibly meaningful experience to me to be able to share that dance with both of my parents. The whole experience of having dance lessons together and then showcasing it at the wedding is something I will cherish forever. I definitely highly highly recommend it!! Since my parents were not involved in the overall wedding planning process, the lessons were such a good way of making them feel included in the planning-- and the dance on the wedding day made them feel so special. My fiancé and I were in need of some help for our wedding dances. I am South African and my groom is Indian so we planned to do a fusion dance of sorts to include a Western song and a Bollywood song. For reference, we are both beginners and have zero skill in terms of dancing. Anna was very responsive to our needs and she listened very well to what we wanted. She was quick to set up all lessons and communicated well with us. We sent her our songs beforehand and she planned out the moves before we arrived. The thing I liked most about Anna (Archana) and the choreography she provided to us in Fremont was that she requested our song before our first lesson! We had a been to another popular studio in Mountain View and felt quite rushed and choppy when the instructor first heard our song.. which happened to be on our first lesson. With sending her the song early, she was able to choreograph a pretty cool cha-cha to our fast paced country song. We were fortunate enough to take 5 lessons, the last of which we squeezed in about 3 hours before we hopped on a plane to go to the actual wedding! She was flexible with the time of her lessons, and also helped us change a move or 2 when we felt we couldn't keep up with the pace of a certain step. She also recorded us, and we were able to view the steps at home during our practice sessions. I found Anna online and definitely did some looking around prior to picking her. She was the quickest to respond and the most reasonable with her pricing which was just a bonus. Anna is fantastic at noticing the small details that really make you look less like people who just learned a dance, to people who actually dance REGULARLY. She helped us come up with 3 songs, so we got a great transition from slow dance to hip hop and then bollywood. We were referred to Archana by our wedding planner Tejel for choreographing our first dance for a wedding event 3 months ago in San Francisco. I was a bride from across the country trying to plan a wedding in less than 2 months and we had precisely time for only 2 dance classes over a weekend. We had sent her our song selection prior to our scheduled class and Archana did an excellent job of coming up with elegant, sophisticated steps for our first dance. I am not comfortable dancing by any means and had nearly no faith that i could pull off dancing for a bollywood song! But Archana was able to tweak the dance steps to suit our requirements and make the entire sequence according to our taste and abilities. She also videotaped us dancing at the end of our session so we could refer to it during practice sessions later.
