So I ask how long because if its 10-15 min I can just wait. If its like 30 I can just go run an errand. No. They asked if I could come back two hours later......! (*just make sure you specifically request this service when booking because it takes a special skill & time.) I was having trouble with my regular gel chipping or peeling within a week at other local salons. But not this UV gel -- it lasts forever! I only go in (every 3 weeks or so) because I need a fill. You will always feel like you're being rushed out whenever you're there there have been several occasions where I have booked appointments for me and my sister and we walk in and that only one of us can be done even though when I called, they said that they can take us both, my last straw was the fact that my sister walked in a few minutes before I did as I was parking the car when I enter the salon it's literally just my sister there with four employees I'm confused and I'm asking where should I sit? No one is saying anything so I say I'm going to the bathroom really quick they say no problem I come out my sister is drawing her toenails and they tell me. Oh no no we cannot do your pedicure because we are closing even though online it states that they close at seven and every time I go in there they tell me that they close at 7:30. I was very confused because it wasn't even seven yet And all I was asking for was a pedicure. Again, as I said, the quality of work really wasn't up to par but I once about 3 to 4 times because it was convenient and close for me and I wasn't getting any crazy designs so it's really not that hard to mess up a regular gel mani with no designs. If you're the type of person to get regular polish on your Mani and patties, I do not recommend I repeat do not recommend this place. Your nails will be chipped within 30 minutes after leaving the salon. It's like the whole staff is lazy and doesn't wanna make any money they do not listen to you. They do not give you the color you want nor the designs Because they are completely capable of doing so all they do is regular manicure and pedicures so the fact I couldn't get a pedicure and I was boarding a plane the same night so what other nail salon would be able to do my pedicure this late? Just wanted to give a quick shout out to John at Raves salon for giving me an awesome cut today…read more Battling my curly hair most of my life along with getting some pretty horrific hair cuts in the past has made me super anxious about who I let touch my hair. I originally intended to bite the bullet and schlep into the city to a devachon salon to spend $200 on one of their famous curly cuts, but when covid hit I had to put those plans on hold. Thanks to the many recommendations from PM's to go to John, I'm so happy I never made it into the city. From the moment I stepped into the salon I was made to feel welcome, and John spent a ton of time teaching me how to take care of my curls while giving me the best cut I have ever had. The salon was extremely clean and up to date with all the covid precautions. I left with a bunch of samples and a totally transformed, happy head of hair. All in all if you're on the fence about where to go to get your curly hair cut, take it from someone who hasn't let someone touch their hair with a pair of scissors in years; I will definitely be returning to John in the future and hope you decide to give his salon a shot too. This Plainview business undoubtedly deserves to make it through these hard times and be successful for many years to come.

I was delighted when I found out Ouidad had certified salons on Long Island. John was wonderful with listening to what I wanted in a cut. I was also shown step by step how to recreate my curly cut. The cut was wonderful, but the service is why I go back.
