If you are expecting a five star hotel, then no this is geared for the fisherman/woman who wants a clean environment for a few days without the cost of a five star hotel. Everything is there to enjoy your stay for fishing, including an on site fly shop. (As an owner of rental properties - I notice details: coffee filters, charging cords, night lights, etc. - on top of the important amenities - all were there and in fine order! Matt and his team are amazing. Food was delicious and plentiful - many offerings to cover all dietary wants/needs. Staff are all friendly, accommodating, and personable - restaurant, housekeeping, and fly shop. Robbie was my guide for float trip. He is awesome "fish finder" - very patient and lots of laughs. OH YES - AND WE CAUGHT FISH! Rainbows and browns... We'd have caught more; had I not tangled my line. I shall return and recommend, wholeheartedly!

There's a crystal clear creek running through the campground. The creek and the river are magical places for kids to play. They search for tadpoles and other critters and can swim in the protected lagoon, which gets deeper gradually. Finally, you can lay in the rushing river water for the ultimate spa experience. Can you tell we liked it here? The campground is run by a family who has had the land in their hands for generations. They are excited and kind about sharing it with visitors and have created an awesome culture of friendliness and respect among campers and the campground owners. There is a well equipped camp store with everything you might have forgotten and even local pottery. The bathrooms and grounds are very clean. They also run tube, canoe and kayak trips where they'll drop you off upriver and you'll finish at Soaring Eagle. We did a tube float down the river which was the highlight of the trip. There weren't many others on the river with us which was a special thing. They also rent canoes and kayaks. We'll try those next time.

There is swimming for about 40 feet in, and then there are boat and kayak rentals for the rest of the lake. Let me tell you something - Kayaks aRe fun! You can go so fast in them. I towed both my friends with my kayak last time, they are wimps! Boats are pretty boring to me, I could never get the oars right. Oh, as of last year, kayak and boat rentals are free. wait... FREE! Even 1 dollar is a deterrant based on principle. Here it is so easy. So THIS is where my tax dollars are going... 5 stars for free kayaks. Love kayaks.
