    we rented cabin 7 for 3 nights , the 1st thing I noticed was the air condition was not installed in…read morethe window , we made sure we looked at the listing and it said it would be air conditioned, there was filth like someone swept the kitchen floor and just left it in the corner , spiderwebs in corners of window . when we went to bed we tried opening the windows to make it more comfortable and realized every window had gaps underneath or torn screens so mosquitos coming in . tried putting A/c in the window to find out it did not work at all !!! all the beds had horrible mattresses when we lay on them we rolled to the center which only made it hotter ! to top it off we were given bottled water for drinking and brushing our teeth because water wasn't safe , made us wonder how safe it was to shower with it ? after day 2 we decided enough was enough and packed up and left . We have rented here before but a different cabin and had a great experience but after this we do not plan on ever returning. false advertising like this spoils it for everyone! ni

Then we were told that the key would be left in the door and it was not. It was left open so we were able to go inside. The cabin looked inviting but had a mildew odor. Next we decided to unpack and called about the missing key. No one answered the phone and we decided to leave a message. After 20 minutes we got a call back and were told the key should be there in the cabin. We searched everywhere and found no key. After several hours of waiting for someone to come deliver the key, we decided to take a chance with our belongings and left for my daughters wedding venue as we had been expected to help out with decorations. We had a big dilemma about leaving the cabin open, but we had obligations at the venue followed by a rehearsal. Upon our return later that night we noticed that even though no unopened food was left out, the counters in the kitchen were covered with mouse droppings. I guess a cabin might have a mouse or two but later realized that the dropping were on everything. Bathroom counters, towels, any luggage bags left open that were on the floors, makeup bags, etc. It became apparent that the cabin had an army of mice. So this was the most bothersome, after all the emails and calls there was hardly any concern by the staff at the hotel. Never a reply to the emails, and other than sending someone unannounced the third day to place traps, there was no customer service. We had planned to stay and paid for three nights. On the second night my family had made it clear they did not want to stay the third day because of the mice infestation and we packed and left ahead of schedule. I write another email and two day have passed and still no reply. I requested a refund for the third night and that seems to be why, I will follow with a phone call. Whatever you do stay away!!!! There are very nice Air bnbs in the area and price more affordable. I know this after seeing some that other guests of the wedding had rented.

Prior to my visit when I asked about a trail map, there was no response. Upon arrival at the property, the only trail I was told of was the one that led from the cabin to the lake. This is very misleading, A big part of the reason I booked this place was the nature trails. Post-visit I was told no one has ever asked about a trail map before. Over 100 acres of trails and no map or markers or signage except for the lake trail. That's ridiculous. The cabin needed cleaning. There were spiderwebs in bathroom. Webs in the corners of the bedroom ceiling, a cobweb hanging from the ceiling. These webs looked like they had been there a while. The ceiling fan was covered in dust. I booked a cabin to be able to have use of the full kitchen. The microwave door handle was hanging on by a thread. It appeared someone had previously attempted to fix it with glue, which obviously did not work well. The shower handle came off in my hand, but I was able to put it back on. The toilet was running and then stopped working. Eventually, someone came to fix the toilet. The next day, the toilet stopped flushing again. The kitchen window did not close all the way, allowing bugs to come in. The screen of the screen door is not attached, and the door does not close flush with the door frame. It was not possible to have front door open because there was ample room for bugs to come in. The listing says "Peace and Quite!!! Very Private". It was not private, it wasn't even quite quiet. There is a good amount of streetnoise, the cabin is set very close to the road. Bring earplugs. Private? No. It is a very short walk to the playground because the playground is directly across the street. A fence separates you from house next door, clear view of their home and yard. Not nearly as secluded as you'd think. They asked if I would not leave a negative review in exchange for a refund. I don't do hush money. People deserve to know what to expect from this place.

The cabins are always clean, the communication through Airbnb is seamless and Bob gives you access to his kayaks, paddle boats, rowboats etc! My husband loves the lake for fishing! We used to live up the road from you on Rock Lake Dr and for about 12 years we did an airbnb with our carriage house and would never think of making our guests clean up and take away their garbage and do the laundry. WE also only charged 45.00 for cleaning a 3 bedroom private home. You on the other hand expect us to pay 185.00 cleaning fee and you want us to do the laundry, clean the dishes, vacuum he house, clean the kitchen, take all the garbage with us in our car and if we leave it you charge an enormous removal of garbage for 25.00 a bag. We had to clean the house when we got there, the kitchen was dirty and the bathrooms were not cleaned in a while, dusty and spider webs in the showers. There were dead bugs that we had to clean up also. Most of the light bulbs in the house do not work and I do know that you are aware of it due to other feedback about this issue. We had to go out and spend 40.00 for air fresheners because the whole house smelt very musty. We paid for a 4 bedroom log cabin with a washer and dryer. We were not able to use that floor at all due to the smell of mold. We did though wash all the linens and towels as required and cleaned a second time before we left. In your add it states that we are to receive incidentials at a value of 125.00 but instead there was used hand soap and a broken shampoo dispenser hanging off the wall. The one upstairs one in the shower was disguistingly filthy. I took many pictures upon my arrival of all the broken and dirty stuff in the cabin. The railing on one side of the deck stairs to go into the cabin is missing and I fell in the dark thinking there was a railing. Luckily I did not get hurt. I fell in the weeds and got my clothes dirty. I was not happy about that. The outside of the property is very unkept and nothing like your pictures. There is no exhaust fan over the stove for cooking. The front left burner does not work and gas escapes when you turn on which is a saftey hazard and the stove was filthy as well as the griddle which is really gross and should be thrown out. I am still waiting for my 100.00 deposit returned, plus 100.00 back for having to clean the cabin. I also want 25% of my rental fee returned due to not being able to use the downstairs due to mold and overall sloppy and unkept appearance. I am waiting upon your response before I leave feedback. I was originally planning to come back again in August or September but as it stands now, we don't see that happening. We come back up to Lakewood at least 4 times a year for about 5 days each time to visit our son. We sold our home on Rock Lake Dr last year and we were hoping to stay at your place for our visits.
