We would play 36 at swan lake Hour and a half full throttle. Great memories riding up. Fast forward shit ton of years. Three kids and four grandkids later , i wanted to come up and play. Swan lake closed. Hello Roscoe MTN. Ba. Boom! Perfect. Shot a slap it around horrible 97 with my bride of 40 years next to me. Tomorrow is a new day. Hit the bait shop in the Am and get on the lake. . Just what I wanted! 11.00 tee time. Wide open spaces , quiet af, wide open golf course. And really sweep peeps! Absolute home run for grandpa! The absolute cherry on the whole deal was. When I arrived to check in. Jim Diven was there ! My guy! What a wonderful surprise. Treat yourself to this place! Highly recommend if you don't have a club to play at.. Btw the way! This place is the Mack daddy of trout fishing. The hard kind with flies. Check it out!

I was looking for spots for a quick getaway when I came across the Roscoe Mountain Club. While the…read moreplace mainly seemed focused on their massive golf course, they also promoted a slew of seasonal activities that made it sound like a summer camp. Besides all of that, the weekend we were planning our trip happened to coincide with their "Rock the Dock" party, which made it even more appealing, so we decided to spend a night so we could fully enjoy the various festivities. Once we got off the highway and drove through the small downtown section of Roscoe, our GPS escorted us up a massive windy hill that made me carsick eventhough I was driving. Thankfully, the trip to the top was only about 10 minutes. When we arrived, we headed to the main cabin to check in. The building also served as their store and restaurant. The check-in process was fairly easy, and we were then told to drive a few minutes down the road to the two-story "inn" where the rooms were located. I knew that the rooms had been renovated in the last year and a half or so, but if you had told me they had been finished the day before our arrival, I would have believed you. Everything was spotless!! The decor in the bedroom was very wilderness-esque, while the bathroom was super modern. The King Deluxe room was extremely spacious and included a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, and a large balcony. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom toiletries seemed high-end. After we dropped off our bags, we took the 25-30 minute walk past the golf course and down to their lake where the festival was. When we arrived, we discovered a crowd of friendly people enjoying live music, beer from the resort owner's Roscoe Beer Company, food truck eats, axe throwing, and even a bouncy house for the kids. It was truly such a fun way to spend the afternoon. While the entertainment was free, we did have to pay for our food and drinks. I had a pasta salad from the food truck, and it was delicious. I did not have a beer, but my tequila and club soda was well-balanced. After the event, we started to walk back to our room, stopping to scope out Burt's Mansion, their massive rental home on the property. It looked gorgeous from the outside, and I am sure it would be great for a large party. Once we were closer to the inn, we discovered their game room and lounge which had darts, chess, a pool table, and more. The building was completely empty, but we played some chess and then headed back to the room. On the way, we noticed pickleball courts, a small fitness center, a basketball hoop, some fire pits, etc. A little while later, we went to dinner at the 1907 Restaurant. There were only three tables of people in the entire, large dining room, so we canceled our reservation and sat at the bar, which was a bit more crowded. They were out of stock on a few items to make the espresso martini that I requested, but I worked with the bartender, Keara, and other staff member, KJ, to craft an alternative cocktail that came out great. In fact, both of them were a delight to chat with and really brightened our evening! We placed our food order and took a break to watch the spectacular sunset from the balcony. For our dinner, we each opted for the 12-ounce New York Strip Steak, but they came out undercooked. When the steaks were redelivered to us, they were then cooked to a proper medium temperature, but were very chewy. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes were tasty, though. Despite not loving our meat, we were not quite ready to call it a night, so, on Keara's advice, we ordered a slice of the Flourless Chocolate Cake, which was unreal! It was like a sweet block of fudge, and it was completely irresistible. After dessert, we were the last ones in the restaurant, though it was barely 9:00. We headed back to the room, but were bummed there was not more happening at the resort. It seemed that most of the folks from the afternoon's event had been locals that had not stayed the night. The next morning we checked out, satisfied with our fun stay in the country. We would gladly recommend the Roscoe Mountain Club, but wished there had been more visitors during our stay to make it a bit more interesting.

For two consecutive mornings, we stayed longer in bed and enjoyed the beautiful view from our window. During our nighttime stays , we truly enjoyed the campfire. Woods, starter and s'mores are supplied. I am still waiting if my credit card will be charged for these provisions . I read a review posted which was before Post Card Cabins was bought by Marriot that they hit a charge for these supplies plus for some snacks and drinks on the kitchen countertop . The Adirondack chairs outside are comfortable . The picnic table is perfect for a nice dining outdoor with a beautiful nature vibes. Our cabin area was so serene, we had a privacy as the next door cabin is hundred feet away from us. Western Catskills is a perfect location for us as our goal of coming here was to escape the city to relax and reset during the stay. If you have same goal, this kind of setting is recommended for you. This is your escape place.

We reserved the place just in time for the autumn peak season in the area. The place was about 2.5-3 hours drive from where we live, the trip itself was delightful due to the colorful leaves on trees that we passed by. The charming retreat was easy enough to find with the help of GPS. There were several tiny cabins in the compound which were designated with names so that guest could easily find them. Cabins are far enough from each other to provide privacy for each separate guest. Be sure to drive slow when in the compound as the ground was a little rough. Each cabin guest has a designated parking spot which is neat. The cabin that we were assigned to has several outdoor stairs, a short walk from the parking spot to the cabin, cabin is situated on top of a hill which gives guest a nice view from the cabin. Outside of each cabin, they provided a fire pit, picnic table, 2 lounge chairs and fire logs with fire starters. For us to get in to the cabin, they provided us with a code so that we can electronically unlock the door. The cabin was cute and tiny but they have provided all the essentials which included a comfortable queen's bed, small table, mini-refrigerator, a kitchenette, two burner stove, coffee supplies, kitchen utensils, paper towels, complimentary smores kit, coat hooks, toilet paper, towels, body wash, conditioner, shampoo, flushing toilet, hot shower and a few more. You won't believe that all of it could fit in that cute cabin. They kept the cabin tidy and clean. The best thing that I love in the cabin is the large picture window, my wife and I had that feeling where we sort of just wanted to stay in bed, cuddle and stare at the nature outside the large picture window. In summation, my wife and I had a wonderful time at this tiny cabin compound, we had a peaceful campfire each night that we stayed, savored the tranquility of the place, took pleasure in touring the small town of Roscoe, admired the nearby reservoir, found joy in hiking some nearby trails, appreciated finding/exploring covered bridges and had fun visiting a nearby brewery. Our overall experience was relaxing, peaceful and an exceptional escape from city life, with minimal-to-no Wi-Fi or TV, which encourages disconnection and quietude. The solar powered cabin was spotless, and we had no concerns at all regarding cleanliness .The area has so much to offer , outdoor activities galore. Our nights were spent under the stars, eating dinner at a picnic table in front of the cabin followed by a relaxing fire in our own fire pit. It was wonderful to wake to the sound of roosters and our trip highlight was feeding the roaming Sheep. I will definitely return, with my dog ( yes, it's a dog friendly retreat). It's a great spot for a friends weekend, a couples getaway or a family friendly vacation.

The next day before I left, she cooked homemade breakfast and let me take my time enjoy my coffee even though it was a little bit late. Usually I'm a very picky guest, but I love this place so much! From our first interaction with the owner, Becky, we had nothing but an incredible experience. We called to book the weekend, and since it was after the high season of summer, she gave us a special rate for two nights in the Honeymoon Suite. We sent her in a deposit, and called her the day of to confirm the best time of arrival. She was completely casual and accommodating and said to just stop by whenever. When we showed up, she gave us the tour of the Suite, which turned out to be the entire basement of her home! We had a private entrance, a working fireplace, a full ensuite bathroom with an incredible shower setup, a huge sectional sofa that could have fit at least eight people, a master bedroom with a queen size bed, as well as a second twin bedroom that we did not even use. Perfect if we ever go back and bring more guests with us! After we unpacked Becky invited us upstairs for wine and cheese with the other guests. I thought that sort of thing only happened in movies! She gave us some great recommendations for places to go for dinner, and asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning. When we said we were flexible, she said warmly, "well that works for me, you don't need reservations here!" The next morning we had delicious, strong coffee, I had eggs with green peppers and onions with oat nut toast, and my boyfriend had stuffed French Toast, two huge slices of Italian bread glued together with fresh sliced strawberries and ricotta cheese. We even started the meal with two generous slices of banana cream cheese coffee cake, some of the moistest, sweetest start to breakfast that we have ever had. Later that afternoon, she invited us back up to the kitchen for tea, and, you guessed it, slices of the leftover cake. For our second day, she surprised us with souffle apple pancakes, a cross between an apple pie and a pancake, a delicious, buttery, crusty sweet and savory concoction made in a cast iron skillet. Not only that, but since we were the only guests that morning, we had to eat the entire sinful cylinder ourselves - oh well! We washed it down once more with plenty of delicious coffee and some of her homemade sausage that was made locally. The estate her house is on is simply gorgeous, and is adjacent to rolling green pastures where her horses live. While there is no horseback riding (bummer), you can walk up to the fence to see them grazing and take some breath taking pictures. Her dog, Milo, a Sheltie, is a delightful host's accomplice, who loves to play fetch and get petted. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend in the country at Becky's Bed and Breakfast, and cannot wait for next fall when we return.

This place is pretty darn nice. The campsites are secluded enough to make it really feel like…read moreyou're out in the wilderness and keep the sun off of you. Also, there's no cell phone service which helps there. Every campsite has a fireplace (with a grill over it) to make a campfire and cook if you want to. There's a big, pretty lake within walking distance that you can take a hike around. There's a "beach" on one side with some sand over the dirt that you can go swim at if it's warm enough. You can rent canoes or bring kayaks. There's a great big playground with swings and some fun slides and other things in the middle of the campsites by the bathrooms. That all combines to have made this place a lot of fun for us and two other families to get together and do a combined getaway the last two years. It's one of the most fun trips we do each year as a family. The only possible downsides are: 1. The rangers are pretty serious about noise after hours. Even though we were the parents with sleeping kids that might be woken, up we got asked to keep it quieter when quiet time hit. Still, maybe that's missed blessing for those of us who do have kids that we need to sleep. 2. The only showers are a long-ish walk or drive down to the main building by the beach. Usually, we go for little enough time that we just don't worry about it though. Definitely a great spot to go for a long weekend with kids.

Little Pond is a little gem in my opinion. We stayed at site #7 which is on a dead end road overlooking a beautiful field where we saw deer everyday. The flush (yes flush) bathrooms are a short walk away as well as potable water. Also, Little Pond is an easy walk as well. The bathrooms by Little Pond have showers as well with hot water. They are decent for a camping shower. What I liked was the ADA/Handicapped trail that went around the lake. it was a mile so my friends and I would walk it a few times a day. I am recovering from ACL surgery so I couldn't hike any of the other loops they offered. They were very vigilant about food being left out, but if anyone has ever camped before you know that's the norm. They were a bit extreme with what could be left out. For example you cannot leave out dish detergent, washing bins, citronella candles, beverage containers etc. I would highly recommend this location !

The cabins are basically from 1784 and in rough shape. I'm all for a vintage setting, but leaks and the smell like something died is a bit over the top. 3.The guy in charge who tramples around like your presence is bothering him, completely lacks manners and acts like you and your family aren't even there. We didn't expect them to be overly social but at least acknowledge when someone waves or says hello. 4. This is not the establishment you want to visit if your expecting hot water with your showers. So yes it costs 25cents for cold showers. 5.I blame myself partly because I had an idea what we were in for right after the gate closed and we checked in. But you live and learn and this is one place that will never have to worry about getting our business again.
