Exceptional Emergency Hot Water Tank Replacement Service - Pete the Plumber…read moreDudes - Jim and Sam F I wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service I received during my hot water tank replacement Aug 5. I came home to find a tank that was not happy, this was clear as the water was running from my trusted tank. This was a 1st for me as a homeowner. I called Pete the Plumber! First, my warranty was honored exactly as promised. I had purchased the 10-year protection plan, and there were no issues whatsoever. The technician confirmed the warranty coverage, and there were no unexpected costs for the replacement tank itself. Given that the failure occurred outside of normal business hours, I was especially grateful that emergency service was available. The experience started with a call to the 24-hour support line, where I spoke with Jim. He was professional, efficient, and took all the necessary details of the situation. After sending the requested information, I was contacted within approximately 15 minutes by Sam F., the technician assigned to the call. Sam provided exceptional service from start to finish: Called promptly and provided an estimated arrival time. Confirmed warranty coverage and any applicable fees upfront. Reviewed the photos I had shared and, through his experience, immediately understood what was required. Called again when he was approximately 20 minutes away with the replacement tank. Arrived prepared and ready to get the job done. Sam executed his work and shared all the details with me as he worked. Sam provided some valuable advice and was able to talk basic language to help me understand the processes and how the system works. He shared insight and valued experience to help me make the choices best for my home. What impressed me most was Sam's knowledge, communication, and professionalism. He clearly knew exactly what was needed before arriving, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. When you're dealing with a hot water tank failure after hours, that level of confidence and responsiveness makes a huge difference. Thank you to Jim, Sam F., and the entire team for providing fast, professional, and customer-focused service. It's refreshing to see a company stand behind its warranty and deliver such exceptional emergency support when it matters most.‌ Client and Strong Supporter‌ Rob

I wanted to give this company every opportunity to resolve my concerns before leaving a review…read more While they acknowledged some issues and even offered a partial refund, that refund was never provided. My biggest concern was the diagnostic process and quality of work. I was initially told the pump had failed and the burner was faulty, but neither was the actual issue. After researching the Viessmann fault codes and ultimately seeking a second opinion, it became clear that the diagnosis had been unnecessarily drawn out, resulting in delays, inaccurate repair estimates, and conflicting information. The second plumber also found that the recommendation to replace an Axiom pump (estimated at roughly $1500) did not need replacement--the issue was simply a faulty float, which was repaired for about $300. The work done on my boiler maintenance was also subpar. Although the invoice stated that the combustion chamber and condensate components had been cleaned, another plumber found significant debris in the condensate system and questioned whether the combustion chamber had been properly serviced. Even when provided a picture of the work done (attached), I was charged $978.00 for the maintenance, promised a partial refund, and despite this now being over 2 months from the initial incident and multiple communications, have never received a dime. To their credit, the control board replacement ultimately resolved the original issue, and the staff were courteous throughout the process though slow in communication. However, the combination of questionable diagnostics, recommendations for unnecessary repairs, concerns about the maintenance performed, and an unfulfilled refund offer left me with little confidence in the business. If you own a Viessmann boiler system, I would recommend finding an alternative plumber, and if there are communication issues or pricing issues, it does not sound like my experience has been the first with this company. I would not go back to them given the poor follow-up and misleading quotes.

I have called them from the beginning of the problem but every time they come the service tech tells me it's not a warranty issue and doesn't tell me the problem, and to add on top of that every time they charge me a service fee of $125. There is a 5 year warranty but still they say it's not a warranty issue when the control panel they installed themselves doesn't send hot water to the tank. Women are not stupid but the male/female brain is wired differently. There was a problem with the boiler for my walk-out level in-floor heating and I had no heat. I called the company who had originally installed the boiler system and luckily they could come to my home the same day. The service man showed up, inspected the boiler, told me he could not do the work that day and that his office would call me to set another appointment. He also charged me (company policy) an embarrassingly high amount of money for his house call. I had no heat in that part of the house all over Christmas and through to the third week of January when I made a call asking why I had not yet been contacted. By this time I had absolutely no confidence left with this company. I did make another appointment with them but felt so unsure that I cancelled the appointment to seek out someone else. On line I found DHL Mechanical and actually got to speak to Mark, the owner and not a recording. Even though he was extremely busy, within a few days DHL were at my home and came prepared to work on the boiler right away. I found Mark to be polite, articulate and very knowledgeable. Each step of the way he explained what the boiler issues were and what would be required to fix the problems. Mark worked that day and then had to return a couple of days later with some additional parts to finish the job. I was impressed by his diligence in making a follow up phone call to me after a couple of days to check that everything was now working and that I had heat again. DHL did a great job and their level of service should be what all companies aspire to give their customers. Good job, well done!

On Oct 29, 2025 I requested a quote from Mr. Mike's Plumbing to cap off a gas line to a fireplace…read morethat I was removing. The representative arrived and advised he had to do an inspection of the gas line to determine what needed to be done and ensure that it was in good condition and that there would be a charge for the inspection. He spent about 15 minutes inspecting and advised that he would have to make a number of holes in the dry wall ceiling below the fireplace to find where the gas line could be capped off. I advised him and showed him a hole that I had cut in the floor as I was replacing the floor and that the gas line could be capped off within a few feet of the fireplace. You could see the direction that the gas line was running through the hole. He also advised that their service trucks were well stocked with all the materials that would be required to cap off the gas line. He then called the technician who was to do the work and advised him of what had to be done. In addition he made a number of calls to his other customers and spent approximately 1 hour at my place mostly spent on making calls to other customers. The technician arrived to start doing the work around 8:00 PM. I had already cut the hole in the floor to fully expose the connection that had to be capped and it would only require the disconnection of the gas line to the fireplace and put a simple cap on it. He shut off the gas line and went to his truck to get the cap. He was there for almost half an hour searching for the cap but didn't have one so he fashioned something together using about 4 fittings to cap off the line. I went down stairs while he started on the work of disconnect the gas line from the main line. I heard him struggling for about 15 minutes to try to disconnect the gas line from the main line so I went upstairs to see what the problem was. I observed that he was tightening the fitting instead of turning it the right way to loosen it. I explained to him that he had to turn it the opposite way to loosen it which he did successfully. I would think that disconnecting the small gas line and capping it could easily have been done within about half an hour at the most by a competent gas fitter. He finally finished capping the line off and advised that it was company policy that he now had to re-inspect the work which would be an additional charge for his inspection. I asked him what he was going to inspect and he couldn't explain what he was inspecting for. He then went to his truck and phoned his office I presume to get direction on how to handle this inspection. He came back and advised me that I did not have to pay for an additional inspection. The total charge for this fiasco was $488.23 which would have been over $100.00 more if they had not cancelled the charge for the second inspection. It is my opinion that the incompetence of the company and the cost of disconnecting a fully exposed gas line and capping it off which could have been done with 1 cap with easy access is excessive. This is taking advantage of senior citizens. The owner of the company did not return my call although they did offer to give me $50 back which I refused. If there was a rating of less than 1 I would have certainly given it to this company.

I had a very disappointing experience with Mr. Mike's Plumbing. I was explicitly told ahead of time…read morethat the furnace diagnostic would cost $69. The technician came, took photos, placed advertising magnets on my equipment, and did some very light cleaning around the furnace area. No repair was completed and my issue was not resolved. I was then charged close to $500, which was a huge surprise. I was told the visit would be about two hours, but the time was extended to around 2.5 hours due to the technician saying he was waiting on pricing - something I had no control over. In my opinion, the work performed did not match the price charged, especially since the original diagnostic fee was clearly communicated as $69 and no fix was provided. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting all pricing clearly confirmed in writing before booking.
