Plumbing backed up Saturday night so we waited it out until Tuesday since Monday was a holiday. After calling 4 other plumbers listed by Yelp who actually did NOT cover Morro Bay we got a recommendation for Drain Buster's in Los Osos. I left a message at 8:30am and by 9am I had a callback stating that Cameron could be here between 10 and 12noon. He arrived at 11:15, found the clean out and ran the snake through to the city sewer - about 110 feet of snake since the builders located the clean out on the back of the house. Quick, friendly and effective for what I thought was a reasonable price - well under $200. Wow! I had my house fumigated. SoCal gas tech turned on my wall heater and my stove. but told me that my water heater was in too bad a condition to restore to service and that I needed a plumber to restore it. Rats, which I thought were gone from my home, had gotten into the water heater closet, nested, and corroded the plumbing. It was 2:00 p.m. on a Friday. Yikes! I called Drain Busters. Rikki who answered, got in touch with plumber Miles, and he was at my house in less than an hour. The rats in that closet were dead from fumigation, but what a mess they had made. I don't blame Miles for not wanting to work on this mess. He told me the rats had eaten my water heater! He told me I would have to replace the unit and gave me a fair price. He grumbled a bit, and I don't blame him, but he got the new unit and cleaned up the mess. He also fixed the vent duct on my dryer and got done by 5:00. He should be called "Miracle Miles". I've had two very good experiences with Drain Busters who have twice come to my house for drain blockages. Both times they were fast, efficient, cordial, and successful. I cannot comment on prices for bigger jobs as I am a renter and the invoices were paid by my landlord. I definitely recommend them if you live in Los Osos/Morro Bay. My only complaint is that, in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown and heightened fears in the community of contagion, the lead plumber for my latest job only wore a mask part of the time as he exited and entered our home and did not consistently wear gloves -- though his assistant did the whole time. We had to disinfect all doorknobs, etc. after they finished the job. I also twice had to request that the lead plumber wear a mask before he entered our home for the latest job: for the assessment and the actual work order (two separate visits). He arrived not wearing his mask (though on his neck) or gloves. He put both on later, but took them off again as he entered and exited the house. I would have assumed such a business would require their workers to be fastidious about mask and glove wearing given the unprecedented necessity of such protection given circumstances and their constant contact with people in their homes -- for their protection as essential workers, and their clients'. read more

The worker was nice and spent about an hour to snake the drain. He tried a couple of times in a couple of locations. He was at the end successful. The only drawback was he said if that snaking didn't do the job, he'd need to come back with a different (probably longer) snake and charge me more. Maybe they should have that longer snake on the truck, "just in case" so they don't have to make 2 trips.? ( After all their name is Drain Busters!) But what do I know. This is a great company! Had them replace sewer line that had collapsed. They were on time, worked hard and efficiently, and left the area looking better than when they came. Josh answered all my questions patiently. He and Dan worked well together. The company was easy to communicate with and work with. The only down side was waiting over two hours for the city inspector to show up and sign off so they could finish the job. The guys were more patient with that situation than I would have been! I run a fitness center in Morro Bay and from time to time have an urgent need for a reliable plumber. The first reason I'm giving Miles 5-stars is because the phone was answered when I called. Regina (who answered the phone) said she'd have Miles drop by our business in short order. The second reason I'm giving Drain Buster's 5-stars is because the plumber arrived when I expected him to. The third reason is that he fixed our problem quickly, neatly, professionally and at a fair price. The following week we found a gas leak and discovered plumbers do that work as well. So we called Miles again, and again the phone was answered and Miles got us a bid within 24 hours, well before any other plumbers. We had a backup in a downstairs bath tub. I called at 7 pm on a Saturday. Within 30 minutes I got a return call and scheduled a service call for the following Monday afternoon. I was told a service call was $150. Dillon and associate arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment. They each listened well as I explained the situation, and we walked the property to the main lines. They immediately got to work and used a camera on their cell phone to show me in real time what the auger was revealing. We had a soft clog. Finally, they flushed the tub area and cleaned it. I was charged $250 for use of the camera. They worked 35 minutes and were efficient with that time. During this Covid 19 pandemic I wish they would have used masks along with the gloves they wore. My wife and I wore masks. Also I would have liked to have been told by the woman who set up the appointment that the charge would be $250 if the camera was used. The handles on one of our HansGrohe bathroom faucets were extremely tight and hard to turn. I got new valves from the manufacturer, and then the D.B. crew came to my house. They attempted to remove the handles but they were frozen on. So I ordered new handles, and the crew then cut off the old ones and replaced valves and handles. They work fine now and hopefully will continue to do so. I will certainly call Drain Buster's again if we have another plumbing issue. read more
