Wow. I couldn't be more happy about this company DrainAway if I tried. We had a drain issue that was affecting some parts of the plumbing system and not others. One plumber wasn't available for 10 days. Another said they didn't do drain clearing - especially where septic tanks are involved. Not DrainAway. Not only do they advertise SAME DAY in most instances, they were courteous on the phone, understood my issue, explored it a bit. Then, checked the schedule and had a person who could come up later in the day. That person called ahead to tell me about when they'd be here (within the window I was quoted), listened to me walk through the situation, diagnosed the situation, and fixed the issue. James came out to clean the drains under my kitchen sink on 9/11/23. He was very professional and punctual and didn't even make a mess! Very happy with the service. Fast forward to 11/22/23... my dishwasher was not draining and backing up while I had to wait for a new one to be delivered. James came out within 48 hours of calling. IMHO this company is a model for other plumbing concerns. The tech (Brian) arrived before he said he would within less than an hour after I called. He assessed the situation, suggested a fix which sounded reasonable to me, hauled in the appropriate equipment and got to work. His attitude was refreshing. He enjoyed his job. The price they quoted - and eventually charged - was less than a third of what a "bait and switch" company I had contacted previously eventually quoted (after an initial diagnostic charge) about the same problem. We'd used Drain Away twice, in 2012 and 2019, so when both of our bathroom sinks began to drain slowly, we called them up again as we were very pleased with their service and cost. To our surprise, they were able to fit us in the same day. The dispatcher gave us a two-hour window when the plumber would arrive. Sure enough, Brian called us at the top of that time period to say he was on his way. He took the time to chat with us to make sure he understood the problem, then he got all the proper tools from his truck and went to work. In about an hour, he had both drains unclogged and cleaned to our satisfaction. Brian was extremely personable and professional, and it was refreshing to encounter someone with such a positive attitude who takes pride in workmanship. I've been a customer of Rex for twelve years now, and I think that fact says it all. I honestly don't know if he's got the best prices, because I've never even been tempted to use anyone else, because Rex has always been straight up with me and given me great service every single time. I've got a rental property that, truthfully, needs a new sewer lateral. The guy at "dispatch" who i believe is Rex, was is extremely rude. I asked if it would be the same technician as it was the time before to which he told me he had no way to tell me who came last time. My appt was I set up for James to come this morning at 9am, which I was told was the first appt. setting it for the first appointment was to assure that we would be first and on time. When they hadn't arrived at 9:20, I called. Again the same gentlemen answered. He acted as if he had no record of my call from yesterday. Said he would have to call me right back. When he called back he said the technician was held up at his job earlier and would be late. This was the exact reason for setting the appointment for what I was made to belief to be the first appt. when I told the gentlemen this, he began to raise his voice to me saying that I was rude to him yesterday and that he is not my therapist. Called for an appointment because my associate had called earlier in the week and when I called a week later, Rex had no idea what I was talking about. He was rude over the phone but I just went ahead and made the appointment anyway. He said that he would call me the night before the appointment to confirm again, but I never got a call. Just moved into a new (to us) house and the laundry drain backed up during our 1st load of laundry. Called drain away and the had someone out within 2 hours on a Saturday evening. James snaked the line quickly and was out of the house in about an hour. Unfortunately the next day a utility sink backed up so I had to call them back. It was Sunday so they couldn't come back till Monday morning but they came back and snaked again,twice,free of charge. I really appreciate them coming back for free. Update: Camera guy came out. Determined the snaking had not been done properly (as we suspected). Called another company to come snake the pipes. Pipes have been working fine now for several months. Called Drain Away back and asked for a refund for the botched snake job. He refused. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB accepted our complaint and asked Drain Away for a response. THEY REFUSED TO RESPOND! The BBB tried twice with no response. Now deciding if we should pursue legal action. Why wouldn't they just refund the cost of the bad snake job? Wouldn't you expect that from a reputable company? I wish I could give them negative stars. read more

I had a line blockage which I knew was most likely caused by tree roots. After having another company tell me my blockage was most likely caused by the "old style" plumbing in my 100+ year old house and that they would need to repipe the entire house for $$$, I called Rex at Drain Away. Rex was able to send James out to my house the next day. James confirmed that I did, in fact, have tree roots growing into my sewer line causing a blockage. I called last night after 7 pm; they showed up next morning at 9 am. My kitchen sink was backed up and leaking in basement. They used the snake and unclogged in 15 minutes. Called a few of the bigger companies and couldn't get a straight price over the phone. Drain Away quoted over the phone and stuck to the price once the job was done. Jason did a excellent job and the tub, toilet, shower, etc haven't flowed this good in years. He cleaned any mess that was made and was very efficient. After the upstairs toilet was snaked water flowed fine and Jason packed up and left.... then that I discovered that the upstairs snaking had clogged the basement. I experienced a backed up main sewer line almost two weeks ago. We had a plumbing company(Mr. Rooter) come out that night, they snaked us, camera'd us and gave us a quote of $8500 to get us up and going but wouldn't be done until Friday and this was on a Monday evening.
