The flight was poured out of cans, taps were not being used for some reason and some of our choices were poured out of cans sitting from the day before. This was our second dinner with the duo and both experiences were perfect. The winery closed just before the event started so we had run of the farmhouse. I love the gift shop and heading out to the deck that overlooks the vineyard with my first wine of the evening. Last night's dinner was held at the long bar in the farmhouse. Here the chefs prepared everything right in front of us. The super authentic, approachable chefs answered all our questions about the menu, local ingredients and process. Each dish was layered with flavors and textures. Every dish was regular sized, no mini tastes here, no leaving hungry. Wine served complimented each course and Bettina (Cellardoor owner) pulled a couple of extra pours of different wines just for more comparisons. Very fun! These are small, intimate dining experiences that we don't often get to experience. I saw this dinner on their website and said "why not?" Now I am going back to sign up for more!

During our visit, I will say a large portion of the space was in use for a party/event. Despite this the staff were very warm and welcoming to our party and even tried to create a private lounge like space for us. I very much appreciated the effort they put to make us feel welcome. I wish the weather would have been a little nicer to enjoy outside! I got their vanilla hard cider while my wife got their blueberry hard cider. Both were phenomenal. They also offer flights for only $10 and even have suggestions for some mixing of ciders including a fan favorite mix of blueberry and maple to create a blueberry pancake. Thankfully we made it for their last open weekend for 2021! Service was extremely friendly - and we learned a ton about the winery and their practices. My husband listened to a podcast about the winery (which is why we'd wanted to visit), and the owner used to plow only using a horse. They have since switched to more modern ways - but I love that their wines are all-natural and with as minimal intervention as possible. The wines themselves are fantastic!! We had a 1/2 pour of each of the six offerings (sparkling white morphos, sparkling rose morphos, Chardonnay, cab franc, merlot and a cider) and I truly was surprised to find they are all GREAT!!! The sparkling white and Chardonnay were my favorites, but the reds were nice and dry and full of flavor. The cider was also dry and tart - it is lovely! The rose morphos was a bit too sweet for me, but tasty nonetheless! We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area!

Also quite good, as well as thematically appropriate. Shoutout to the cute pup who greeted us when we pulled into the parking lot and walked us to the front door. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom at the Brooksville Farmer's Market this past week, and spending…read moresome time down at the Sow's Ear Winery on Coastal Road later on in the week. Tom is a true master of his craft, which he's been studying and perfecting for twenty-three years now. He is the sole proprietor of Sow's Ear and does a terrific job all by himself. He is welcoming and friendly and engages his customers with great conversation while they test his six or seven different wines. Sow's Ear specializes in fruit wines made from organic local ingredients. The cider and sparkling cider are from Tom's own orchards, and he sources the rhubarbs for the rhubarb wine and "Rhu-bubbly" locally as well as the blueberries. The wild-growing choke cherries he picks himself and all of his ingredients are fresh and delicious. We bought a bottle of cider, which is a traditional English-style cider and quite unique, and a bottle of the blueberry wine and our only regret was that we couldn't come back again.
