This evening, I was looking for haircuts around my surroundings and found this place. I couldn't make an appointment ahead and I called to the salon if I could come within 30 minutes. Luckily they were available and I went straight there. Tammy who is the owner is very friendly and asked me which style or ideas I want. Jack, the hair stylist is recommended me some styles which might be suitable for me. I choose one among the pictures that they suggested and see the results in my photos. Jack is doing professional with my hair. I was very satisfied my results. This is the 1st time I cut my hair that short in my life and i didn't regret it. Just like any other individual who cares deeply about how they look in the public and tries to look their best, I am extremely passionate about who does my hair and how it is done. Upon entering the salon, the atmosphere has a very modern feel to it. The environment is mind-smoothing and the workers were welcoming. The wait is rather short too even when I was the sixth one there. I presume all the others wanted to look their best on 4th of July such as myself. At most I waited only an hour and half for the other five to be done, which I could have called in and reserved earlier. I did not even realize how fast time passed as I felt at home from how comfortable the couch was while I waited on my phone. When my turn came up, the stylist, Jack, greeted me kindly with a smile on his face. With a heartwarming smile, he asked how I would like my hair done. I told him that I usually style my hair as a comb-over however I was going for a new look. I asked him what type of style would look good on me and he advised many different ones for my hair and head shape. Finally, after showing me a myriad of different styles to choose from, we settled for a look that we both thought would fit me perfectly. The haircut only took approximately 20-25 minutes. I was impressed by how slick it came out given how quick it took. My previous experiences elsewhere usually amounts to approximately 40-50 minutes each trip. The end result was just as good if not better even with a new style, which is the most important aspect overall. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of the new look I wanted to try. The modern atmosphere and friendly employees made me feel welcomed and the experience overall was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone who is searching for a new stylist or a beginner getting their hair styled for the first time as the employees explained each styles thoroughly and easy to understand. My fiance found Jack on yelp with good rating at the prior salon that he worked at, so he decided to give him a try. He consistently went to Jack for a year, and we followed him to his new salon. I usually get my haircut in San Francisco, but I decided to give Jack a try and it was just as great. He is very reasonable pricing too. We tried calling other salons around the area as well, but they go up to double the price of Dragon salon, but quality isn't particularly better. This has been our 2nd time here for my fiance since they opened. The pricing is even better now since they are having a 50% off promotion besides regular cut/wash. They said this will end before the end of September, so I will be back for a permanent straightening. Definitely recommend giving them a try read more

This place is open during Covid. The barber, Jack, has no sense of modern taste for hairstyles. I insisted to not cut layers yet he insisted that my hair is too thick and needs to cut layers. The ending haircut is multiple thinned-out layers with the shortest layer above my ears and the longest layer about 4 inches below my shoulders. My hair looked very puffy at the top and very thin at the bottom when he curled it. When I went back home and washed the temporary curls away, the top layers would curl in and the bottom layers would curve out. Not only so, every morning now I would find myself waking up with a lion head with layers curled in different directions. In addition, when he was washing my hair for me, the entire process was very rough and careless. He was not even looking when he towel dried my hair and was rubbing my eyes with the towel at one point. I know myself the best and what kind of hair would look good on me. Yet Jack was very disrespectful to my askings and pressed his old-fashioned opinions over my own. If he pays attention to trendy girl hairstyles in recent years, he would notice that NO ONE CUT SO MANY LAYERS ANYMORE. He really needs to update his fashion sense from 20 years ago. When he decided to still go ahead and cut the hairstyle for me, he ignored very important factors such as my hair texture and quantity. This haircut genuinely led to many inconveniences in my life. I have to wash my hair every morning and tie my hair up in a bun with bobby pins whenever I go out. If you want a hairstylist that has a very old taste for hairstyles, forces his opinions over your own, and pulls very hard on your hair, go to this hair salon. I also had a more personal conversation with him, but I do not feel right to expose these info on a public platform. But let's just say we hold very different principles toward women and men in a relationship, and I dislike his values. I do not leave reviews normally, but this haircut experience really angered me. I left paying $35 with $10 tips because I understand life is hard during Covid. But I will NEVER come to this barbershop again. read more

For me I very like the way he cuts my hair, I just told him what I wanted him to do to cut my hair. Jack can't speak English ,but it was on Sunday and I didn't cut my hair for long periods of time, just gambled. I thought if I didn't like it, I wouldn't come back. But I very impressed with the time and the service that he gave me. He shampooed my hair, cut, blowdry after he cuts to check if every thing look nice like the way we want ,he spend more time to check and show me in the back of my head, if I was happy with my hair cut. Then he washed my hair again to remove all the small hair that he cuts. Then he blowdry and style my hair again, like he tried to impress me to make me want to come back again. Communicate is very important. Jack is one of an experienced hair dresser. You can show him the picture of the hair cut that you want, I know he can do it. Pros: my haircut looks nice and my hair is way more comfortable for the upcoming hot weather. Cons: They don't listen to anything you say and press their own opinions on what would look good regardless of personal wishes. I've been looking to get my split ends trimmed because they're getting terrible (colored hair troubles, amirite?) I went in and first off, the guy can only speak Chinese. That's fine; I can speak well enough to explain what I want: a trim for split ends. I don't want it cut too much, since I'm still growing out my hair. First thing he does is insist that I should get layers, because otherwise my hair will look too heavy. Sure, whatever, I agree to it. Then he says I should get my hair thinned out (I have very thick, dense hair.) Sure, sounds fine, but I request that he doesn't thin out my colored hair (It's colored so that only the bottom half is colored, so easy request, I thought. You could just thin the top.) Nope. He goes right on and thins the whole thing. Whatever, like I said, I have plenty of hair. In the meantime, we were talking about relationships and such, and he would continuously insist that I should be careful, I shouldn't go out dancing since my BF would get jealous, that you can't help cheating when you just CLICK with people, that you can't trust a relationship where you don't fight. I'm ok with having a friendly discussion with my hair stylist, but I draw the line at someone telling me that I can't be honest about my feelings unless I have regular screaming fights with my partner to get things off my chest. I find that really inappropriate for someone to lecture me about my relationship when they don't know anything about me. At the end, I paid 35, tipped 5, and left looking good, but when I got home...Yes, he preserved my length...BY NOT GETTING THE SPLIT ENDS. He essentially shaped my hair so it had more dimension and layers and such, but preserved the length by not snipping the longest ends. I'm STILL cutting off split ends. If you don't have any specific requirements or requests and are just looking for a generically good looking haircut, go for it. If you have any specific wishes, don't go unless it lines up exactly with what HE thinks is good, because he definitely won't respect your wishes. I gave it a try for this new hair salon, I had hair color and haircut together. Unfortunately, the hair color is not quite professionally due to my black hair inside still show up on my head. Honestly, I like my haircut, but not my hair color. Haircut is $35 per long hair over shoulder. The price compare to some hair salons, it is not the cheapest one. read more

This is a solid place to get a cut. I was turned away from other places because they were busy or not open on Sundays, but found jack and haven't looked anywhere else since. I've been losing a lot of hair (male baldness) recently, but Jack always gives me a cut that suits my current hairline without me even asking. Fortunately, everywhere else was closed for Christmas so I found this gem! I received a better haircut than that I wanted for myself! I could tell that the barber is very experienced and he has a pretty sick hairstyle.
