I'm from Brownsville,TX. But when I'm in the McAllen area on the weekends and craving Chinese food, I always look forward to Dragon House! Simple, delicious, and affordable! The food is great itself, but the service that is provided is what makes this place great too! Hospitality is great, along with great staff that help you choose what to get if you don't know what to choose out of all the great choices they offer.

The food was flavorless and full of oil sadly. No one liked their plate and there was 6 of us. The honey shrimp and the orange chicken were extremely mushy and my general tsao just tasted like iron. The beef is an extra dollar since it's a specialty and it just tased like oily soy sauce. The soup was by far the worst it tasted like sink water. I'm not sure if it's because it was the last of it, but it was so disgusting. The ambiance is overwhelming because it's a small area with loud music and shouting constantly. The only nice thing about this place was the service. The workers were nice and attentive it's just the food and ambiance that ruined the experience.

Why is all Chinese food in the Valley bland? The Teriyaki chicken did have a flavor, and that flavor was burnt. Orange chicken was OK. Service was good and the price was low so, you get what you pay for. They were busy which might explain why the table I sat at was filthy. Might not eat here again but hey, you be the judge.

There was a friend that recommended this restaurant months ago. I decided to go and try it out today. As soon as you walk in you can tell they fashioned their whole aesthetic, menu and seating area after Panda Express. Even the three different plates they offer are closely related. As per the taste of the food, it was quite disappointing as my eyes seemed to be deceiving me. All the options looked great but when it came time to eat, it was quite the letdown. It tasted more like Buffet food rather than a sit down gourmet restaurant taste. The only winners for me were the fresh egg rolls, low prices and great customer service. If you all want a great tasting Chinese spot check out my restaurant reviews YouTube channel. It's called Lenny's Reviews. Here is a Chinese spot you will love: https://youtu.be/BbIWjm1RPqE

The food was delicious. We came in right as they opened so everything was hot and fresh. The honey shrimp tasted amazing! The teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For our family of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults) we all were completely stuffed with food to go all under $50. It's clean and inviting and the staff were all professional and helpful. Will definitely be back to curb our Chinese-food cravings!

Had high hopes for this place. It's kinda like a Panda Express. Only good thing is you get free hot and sour soup.

Horrible. From their advetisement, there was no soup or fruit on their bar. Will not ever return. A 1 is generous.

I noticed one of the cooks was using a dining room table to prepare vegetables while watching a video on her phone. The lady who took my order at the front counter also played the role of server. The counter was cluttered. When I walked in, no one acknowledged me for a few minutes. The lady was talking to someone - whether a friend or client I could not tell. When he left, she finally turned to me and asked if I wanted take-out or dine in. I can't say she was either welcoming nor friendly, but once I stated my intentions were to dine in she led me to a table and handed me the menu. Xin Xin does not have a buffet. But that ensures that everything is made fresh as you order it. They offer dine in, take out, and have a drive through window. Their menu is pretty extensive with Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese entrees.. some of which I have never heard and would need coaching to pronounce. I wanted something more familiar, and ordered the Triple Delight lunch special. The lunch special came with my choice of soup, and either white or fried rice. I ordered the hot and sour soup and fried rice. The lunch special portion was generous but I was hungry and finished it all. I can't say the food quality stood out as extra special, but it was very good and I enjoyed it. The Triple Delight was supposed to have beef, chicken, and shrimp, but I did not detect any beef. There was plenty of the chicken and shrimp. The menu lists beverages as canned soft drinks, a couple of juices like coconut or lychee, and hot or iced tea. I asked the server if the iced tea was fresh brewed and she assured me it was. When she brought out a bottle of Gold Peak sweet iced tea I wondered if she knew enough English to understand my question and what "fresh brewed" means... The Gold Peak was decent, but not the same as fresh brewed. My experience with the service and ambience was lacking. The drink was also a little disappointing. The food, however was very good and the prices were reasonable. Considering the competition, they need to up their game if they want my business.
