Reviewing as a 2nd gen Taiwanese American, this place is yummy and offers interesting daily specials! I'm sure my parents would have nitpick comments but my friends and I enjoyed our meal. * chicken ginseng soup (5/5) - incredible homey flavor made w organic ingredients * popcorn chicken (4/5) * stinky tofu (4/5) * idiot noodle (5/5) * pork belly bento (5/5) I would recommend trying the daily specials, it seems like the ingredients are fresh and interesting (like 3 cup rabbit). Service was very attentive and kind. Decor is fashionable. Loved the smell of incense right when we walked in.

VIBES FUCKING GREAT , security fucking immaculate owner was vibing with us all . They was letting us sing our hearts out and super understandable

Friends visiting from Hawaii were craving some karaoke time, and when our original spot was fully booked, we wandered just a few doors down and discovered Dragon Gate Karaoke Lounge. At the entrance, security checks IDs and has everyone walk through a magnetometer before entering the lounge. Once inside, the whole vibe completely changes -- you're suddenly surrounded by Asian-inspired décor, neon lights, and a cozy atmosphere that feels almost cinematic. The lounge area looks great for groups, and for a moment, it truly felt like stepping onto a movie set. The private rooms were just as impressive -- clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. Now for the downside: the YouTube connectivity. We tried using our phones to pull up songs, but the system was very glitchy. It kept switching to random tracks instead of the ones we selected. We moved to two different rooms, hoping for better luck, but the issue followed us until we finally found a room with a system that worked. Our host, Sherry, could see how frustrated we were and did her best to help, which we really appreciated. Overall, the ambiance and décor are genuinely impressive, but the tech issues definitely took away from the fun. I'm not sure if I'll be back, but if you decide to try this place, I hope you land in one of the rooms with a smooth connection -- because when it works, the vibe here has real potential.

    Overview of dinner

Came by for a dinner gathering with friends and it was a very average experience. We came in around 7:30pm and the place was empty, so we were already worried it wasn't going to be best. The place was very well and ascetically decorated with vintage Taiwanese decors to give it a homey feeling. They had a medium sized menu of Taiwanese food so we went with 3 cup chicken, oyster omelette, beef stew over rice, stinky tofu, and beef shank soup. Food came out quickly and looked great, but everything was a little too salty. They were also not very authentic Taiwanese, and catering more to the western crowd. Service was minimal, but the server was great and interactive. As one of our friend was Taiwanese, she recommended dishes that would resemble what he'd order at home. Unfortunately they were far from what he expected, and were unlikely to come back again.

Dragon Gate Karaoke Restaurant is a stellar find in Las Vegas--even better than I expected! Their food is flavorful, bold, and generous--with standout dishes like stinky tofu, popcorn chicken, and bento boxes that truly remind you of Taiwanese night market classics. Drinks at the bar pair effortlessly with the salty, savory flavors. The karaoke rooms are absolutely beautiful--super comfy sofas, a powerful sound system, and lighting that elevates the party vibe. Whether you're here for dinner or to sing into the early hours, you'll enjoy stylish decor, fun energy, and a late-night scene that comes alive. As long as you don't mind occasionally salty seasoning and are ready for some volume in service during peak times, Dragon Gate delivers an experience that's well worth the hype.

Came here for Sunday lunch and was eerie to see that there was only 1 other party eating besides me. I wanted to like this place as a Taiwanese as some of the pieces are there but can only bring myself to give 3 stars. Staff are friendly and the place is clean albeit on the colder side. The furniture and ambiance is filled with Chinese touches such as carved wood. In the background a ton of Taiwanese songs from Jay Chou are playing. I decided to order stinky tofu big size as well as minced pork rice bowl. Minced pork rice bowl was $6 so the price is attractive but it's not really that tasty because only a tiny bit of meat atop a ton of rice. Also, the sauce is supposed to permeate the rice so this one did not pass the test. The stinky tofu big size means whole tofu fried then cut up rather than fried cut up tofu. The tofu is not too strong which I don't mind and the garlic soy dip tastes right. The pickled veggies on side taste a bit too young - need more pickling. Hard to try more dishes since I was solo diner but compared with Taiwanese food in my home state of California, this one lags a bit. They do happen to open late with what seems like a club atmosphere so this could be a nice place to have some drinks and eat Taiwanese snacks!

This was my second takeout order from this Taiwanese restaurant, and it didn't go as well as the first time. I ordered the water spinach stir-fried regular noodles (with beef), but kitchen told me I couldn't substitute with rice noodles -- even though they're usually cheaper. When I opened the box, there were only a few strands of water spinach, while noodles made up most of the dish, and even there was more meat than vegetables that I want. If it's labeled a "water spinach" dish on your menu at the first order, i think most of the customers will agree the vegetable should be the focus than noodles. I also found their online menu outdated -- several dishes listed on Yelp were no longer available, which was frustrating. Lastly, I had asked for non-spicy dishes, but all three came with green chili peppers. For someone who can't tolerate spice, this was disappointing. I hope the kitchen can be more careful with spice levels and the owner should update their online menu as well. Also, if you pay for credit card, it will have some few % surcharge. After this visit, I understand why the dining room was empty both times that I came. I'm not sure if I will visit the third time, should I give them a try again? What do you guys think?

    Cucumbers so good (5/5)

Wow! Taiwanese food in Vegas! Vegas is known for Taiwanese food desert lol. We practically don't have any good Taiwanese restaurants at this time. Very happy they opened one. Atmosphere: (5/5) wow! They decorated so nicely as if you are walking into the old Chinese movie set. Dragon Gate name is so perfect for the theme. Service: (5/5) it wasn't busy when we went and the service was attentive. Food: (4/5) some items are very authentic while a few were just ok. -Cucumbers (5/5): it was so delicious! Definitely I will order again. -Stinky tofu (5/5): authentic taste except kimchi can be better. -Popcorn chicken (4/5): we got popcorn chicken, chicken cutlet, chicken gizzard. Our favorite was popcorn chicken. -Three cups with intestines and pork stomach (4/5): intestine was really good but pork stomach was so tough to eat. -Sacha beef noodles (3/5): flavor is good but the beef is so tough. -Shrimp omelet (3/5): it was decent but maybe oyster ones would be better. The batter was not thick enough. -Hot Marinated items (3/5): beef quality was not good. We ordered tofu but we got fish tofu. Chicken heart didn't taste very fresh. Overall, the food is quite tasty. I would have given five stars if it wasn't for lots of msg in the food. Everyone was super thirsty after the dinner. Please adjust this off your recipes! However, I will be back and get some of my Taiwanese food fix soon!

This is my third visit to Dragon Gate Chinese Restaurant, and I keep coming back for their incredibly authentic Taiwanese food. This time, I ordered the **Sha cha Squid vermicelli Soup**, **Braised Platter**, and **Stinky Tofu**. Their stinky tofu and Sha Cha squid vermicelli soup taste just like what you'd find in Taiwan! The flavors are spot-on and absolutely delicious. The lu Wei platter is another standout--rich, flavorful, and packed with depth. Every time I visit, I make it a point to try something new from their menu, and I've never been disappointed. Dragon Gate has truly mastered the art of Taiwanese cuisine, and I can't recommend it enough. Five stars all the way--I'll definitely be back for more!

Lunch date with the girlies and Taiwanese cuisine is on the agenda. Not too busy Sunday lunch so we were seated right away. The decor was very cozy and clean. We ordered the beef noodle soup, dumplings, picked three items for stir fry - stinky tofu, fish cakes and duck blood- and the 3 cup chicken. Food came out pretty quick. The beef noodle soup was very good. Chewy noodles, good broth and tender beef and tendon. Delicious three cup chicken tho the chicken was a bit dry. There was an after taste on the dumplings so I wasn't too keen on it. The stir fry has good flavor though we should have chosen the fried stinky tofu by itself instead of stir fry. It was way too stinky for me. Despite the lack of business - there were only a handful of people dining in - service was spotty. We had to flag down the servers several times because of missing items. It was just ok.

What I did try was quite good, and I was beyond appreciative that the staff took the time to answer questions and explain things as asked. I ended up ordering the radish cake omelet, the rice roll, and the classic minced pork over rice for a well rounded Taiwanese comfort food feast fit for way more than one. Everything was fantastic, with particular preference for the rice roll, which was an entirely new experience for me. I was grateful it was large enough to pack half of it out for the plane later! Since visiting, I've recommended this place to numerous friends. I sincerely wish we'd get something like it in Reno! Taiwanese noodle soup type place = lighter broths, usually not heavy intense mainstream noodle soup…read moretastes. But they are a bit oily than liked. I remember they were better for noodle soups vs dry dishes. We ordered takeout at 850pmish (close at 9pm). Good portion size. 10-15min, takes credit card $20min. Speaks mandarin. We'll visit again for just noodle soup cravings. If in LA, I think we could consider this place maybe once a year or so but not as a place to visit often due to price (and so much more variety/better in 626). #2 for $17.95 Beef and tendon noodle soup (I asked for no spicy). Noodles were fresh. Broth was light but still tasty. Meat and tendons were perfect texture of not overly cooked, or too chewy. Think we got lucky, since there are reviewers complaining on tendon texture. Broth had a tiny tad bit of spice. I normally can handle mild of medium spicy but due to gut issues unwanted something more simple. #12 for $17.95 Salty Duck soup with noodles. I asked the staff between this or duck noodles with sauce and she said salty duck soup with noodles was better. Light but tasty. Good someone going through gut issues/feeling sick. For 2 hungry people, these 2 item's portion size was satisfying to overeating capacity. Maybe good for 3 people. -- We visited in 2022 when I now consider us still local newbs. Meaning alot of things in life were still new and great until actually staying longer or experiencing really local life. Then you're stuck with only what you have around Vegas, which mostly sucks in Chinese, Vietnamese, Tacos/Burritos (horrible here and cost more than LA). 2022 Old Orders -- #42. Simmered Beef Tripe $9.95. #25. Beef roll (comes with 2 rolls) $11.99. - the egg and roll makes it soft vs the crispy type. I won't be getting again. Reminds me more of taiwanese breakfast rolled eggs dish? #17. Rice noodle soup with duck blood $12.95 - broth was amazing. Duck blood was fresh. Light meal. #29. Fried pork chop with rice $12.95 - they aren't good for the rice dishes. I'd imagine go steps away to their plaza neighbor shop for that.
