From these visits I can say it's a nice, clean and well established Chinese restaurant and takeaway with an impressive set of loyal dinners. Of course, it has a large varied menu of chicken, beef, pork and - my favourite - prawn dishes. All of which are served up in generous portions for decent prices. Another advantage is the Spar shop just next door. Hence, if you're treating yourself to a takeaway you can easily pick up some juice, desert or even a wee cheeky bottle of wine. Yum.

I felt like just telling her to stick the order up her a*se. However I got food, chick sweetcorn soup - very average with a lot of gloopy lumps in it. Next was beef Szechuan it was full of fatty lumps on the beef and rice was a all stuck together - vile! So with the staff attitude and minging food its safe to say I wont be ordering from them ever again! Save your money and try another Chinese, Ho-Wah or Fifteen.

The estimated delivery time was 60-70 mins however it actually arrived in 30 mins which was amazing! I ordered beef chow mein and salt and pepper squid. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were enough to feed 2 but I ate it all regardless. The food was also still steaming hot when it arrived. Their minimum order value is £5 which is surprisingly little but this works for people like me who want a meal for 1 although my order was £13 (including delivery). I will definitely order here again!

It's been so long since I've ordered a Chinese takeaway so having a quiet night in, I decided to…read moreorder from Wans Golden Corner. I'd heard pretty good things about this place and was keen to try it myself. I ordered a meal for one which for just under £6.00 (not including delivery which I'm sure was around the £2.50 mark) was amazing value. I got my choice of chicken noodle soup or chicken mushroom soup, a choice of starters (there was a few to pick from, I went for the spring rolls) and a choice of mains (that covered everything from curries to chow mein) that were served with either rice or chips. Oh, and a free portion of prawn crackers was thrown in which is never a bad thing. I ordered the chicken noodle soup, spring rolls and chicken curry with fried rice. Delivery took about 45 minutes but as it was the weekend, that is definitely expected (It arrived just at the point I was moving into the hangry zone). The soup was delicious, as were the spring rolls (there were 5 or 6, I can't quite remember) and the prawn crackers were really tasty. The curry was served in a long tray whilst the rice came in a smaller tray. The curry was nice; plenty of chicken, onions and the sauce was of the perfect consistency. It wasn't the best curry I have ever tasted but it was a nice meal and I was pleased with my meal. I ordered a 2 litre bottle of juice as well which was £2.50 but that's pretty standard if you're ordering juice from a take away!

This review may be slightly biased, despite my efforts to combat this. You see, I don't really like…read moreChinese food. I blame my folks for limiting me to Indian and chippy takeaways as 'treat' dinners. Nonetheless, I am trying to branch out and be that bit more adventurous. Thus, I do on occasion venture to this place. It's small but bright, clean, well lit and has clearly displayed menus. Something, most helpful considering my limited knowledge and experience. On the odd occasion when I've been in: the prices have been decent; the staff extremely pleasant, quick and efficient. Hence, the service has also been very good. Lastly, the food - I reckon - is pretty good but then, I don't have all that much to compare it too so don't take my word for it. Give it a go yourself.

Personally, I enjoy Chinese food, and this place is no exception (the ribs here are delicious), apart from the fact that my wallet isn't empty after I've been (waaay!) (also, it lacks those freaky waving cats, and other chinese-style accessories...eeep). Large portions for small prices, it's definately worth a trip. Sit in. Or take out. Or get a delivery. 'Chow' down...! (That was possibly the worst pun ever. Apologies).

And it's a great pity, because the food in Chow is superb. Situated in a tiny unit on Byres Road, the Chinese restaurant makes use of every inch of space to cram in as many people as possible, both on the bottom floor and the small mezzanine level. The reasonably priced menu is extensive but I'm afraid my stubbornness when it comes to the ordering of Chinese foods means I'm only in a position to recommend my old faithfuls, hot and sour soup and chicken chow mein, both of which are excellent in here. In actual fact, this could almost have been a five star review but there's no getting away from the abruptness of some staff members, which I find to be an all too common occurrence. I really shouldn't come back, but unfortunately the food is just too damn good.

The curry sauce tasted lovely and had a fantastic kick to it, definitely one for fans of a hotter chicken curry. The chicken was a bit too chunky but was still tasty - same amount in smaller chunks would've been perfect. The ribs were very tender and a little bit fatty; it's not like me to leave any ribs but these ones didn't impress me. Oh, and when I asked what bottles of soft-drink they had it turned out they only sell cans, which was disappointing and not all that practical given how spicy the curry was. The meal was nice enough. The curry sauce was just how I like it but what I've said about the meat let it down a little although this is just my personal tastes. It's reasonably priced and was delivered quickly, but with many other Chinese takeout places available in the area it's not my first choice.
