Literally so traumatized by the experience I had here I had my dentist take my buttons off for my invisalign and am looking elsewhere to have them done. I was extremely depressed after the unexpected passing of my father during COVID and having a hard time taking care of myself (my bad) but what really put me off was when Dr. Scherer told me that wasn't an excuse and I needed to "put my big girl pants on," same visit- some of the ortho assistants were huddled around a computer surrounded by MY picture talking about how disgusting & ugly I looked and making fun of me. The only reason I knew it was me is they surround a picture of yourself with your progress. Like imagine looking over and hearing that? What are you, high schoolers? Also- their treatment plans are super unorganized and they don't communicate with each other. Had Dr. Scherer tell me on a visit to only wear my bands at night, then on my next visit a dental assistant told me that I was lying, and continued to gaslight me when I showed her the notes I had taken from the previous appointment (which I started doing because this wasn't the first time it had happened) and another Dr- Amy then told me I needed to wear them all the time. I didn't have buttons that weren't changed on the invisalign plan removed and replaced and had tooth decay so bad under one I had to get a core & crown done (another $700 with insurance) This was just my experience- but they also messed up my little brother's teeth with his expander by giving him care too early so he now needs braces to fix the gap in his teeth they caused. My sister was called racial slurs by the assistants. I would not trust Dr. Wax to take care of your family's orthodontic work. My entire family had a horrible experience here and now needs even more work done- not just orthodontic, but dental that's costing even more. read more

Called them incessantly from 6am-9am. They "supposedly" open at 8am. I sat in an empty "Dr. Wax" office for TWO HOURS. No one there! From 8am-10am, I sat with bloody braces waiting for a single person to show up. They kept their office open for two hours with no one attending to it. If you want to steal from a place, this is the place to go! They are also extortionists. Exuberant amounts of money for sub-par service. I have had orthognathic surgery, arthroscopies, two rounds of braces, etc. etc. etc. and they had NO TRAINING in any of it! They told me my mouth was "too intense." The staff has been very patient, caring, and communicate well with me about my children's orthodontic plan.

After 3.5 years on braces we didn't get the results we wanted. They never undated me when my child was done with his appointment felt out of touch what was happening till the end when they told me he's not wearing his bands like he should. We also stated with dr.wax being the orthodontist I understand the business grow but I only choose this place to see her and after only 4 visit we never saw her again. My oldest completed treatment with Dr Wax in 2019, my son is in current treatment and my other daughter is scheduled to get her braces on in spring of 2023. It has been a pleasure coming to all the offices over the past 5 years. Staff is always welcoming, the front ladies are fun to chat with during appointments, the lovely clinic girls always explain the appointments in a way I understand and the doctors are always kind, funny but very professional. It has been six weeks since I came in for an appointment I had waited for for six months and I am still upset and traumatized about the way I was treated. I came for an appointment with Dr. Wax to discuss a treatment plan to adjust my invisalign and order retainers. I started out with a meeting with two women - I don't know the names as they did not introduce themselves. Everything went downhill when I asked the woman to wear a mask. I am 71 years old and I was protecting her by wearing mine. I found out that the office had never followed up to get my xrays from my doctor in Illinois! They only had six months! I never got to see Dr. Wax. When I got upset and started to cry the assistant stood up from her chair and stated "we are done now". In my whole life I have never been treated this way! Took my daughter here for an expander and braces. After paying for the expander they quoted me an extremely high price for braces. She still had a lot of baby teeth that needed to fall out. I took her for a second opinion. Where they said they wanted to wait until her baby teeth came out before doing any work on her. They did a consultation every 6 months watching her baby teeth come out. After they all came out and the adult teeth came in she didn't even need braces! All her teeth went into place and are perfectly straight. I am sure this is why Dr Wax puts braces on 7 year olds. Catch them early and tricks parents. read more

Super shady orthodontist! After my sons first phase with her office he was given the clear retainer knowing my son was still having adult teeth coming in. As the teeth came in they just cut a hole in the retainer to make room for the adult teeth. Well after a few holes it obviously broke. To replace the retainer it was going to cost us $200-$300 (I can't remember exactly) or I could of bought their retainer insurance that was around $800. Fast forward a month and getting another consultation from Dr Michalkow, it would cost us $50 to replace a retainer at his office Back to Wax's office... after explaining that cutting holes in his retainer comprises the structural integrity and that she should of given him a hawley retainer, she tries to tell me that he's ready for phase 2 of his orthodontic work. Obviously I left and went to Michalkow for a consultation. He informed me that he was no where ready for phase 2.... it was actually a year later that he ended up starting his second phase. Wax is a crook and since then I've heard numerous horror stories! read more

The office is very high energy. If you are an introvert, you will feel uncomfortable in this busy, loud, overly stimulating environment. If you have a child with autism or over-stimulation sensitivities, be aware that this may be too much for them. The office also frequently has fragrant candles burning, so people with breathing problems, asthma, or fragrance sensitivities may be uncomfortable also. Dr. Wax and all of the staff are extremely professional and relatable. We go in and they know my daughter by name, they know what sports she participates in and easily hold a conversation with her. We are always in and out at our visits, they have beverages and treats for while you wait. As well as a brushing station & homework area.
