NEW OWNERSHIP SUCKS! I WAS a patient for over 43 years and started going to HTD when Dr. Fox…read morestarted the practice in the 1980's. Dr. Brayman took over keeping Bonnie (dental hygeniest) on board who were all10 stars! That's why I was a patient for so long. After the new owner took over they called me to try and reschedule my exam with Bonnie who said she didn't work there anymore. After pressing them and insisting on NOT changing my exam day they said I could come in and incredibly enough, Bonnie was still working there! I discovered they FIRED Bonnie after over 44 years and my exam date was her last day, don't know why. They actually cancelled many of her appointments to get her out the door ASAP. I got the feeling new management's "brand" of dentistry didn't include one of their most loyal, kindest and best employees and adopted lying to patients as a business practice. I suspect the true reason behind these changes but won't speculate publicly here. I was told they canned Bonnie without cause, cancelled as many of her scheduled appointments out from under her and LIED to me as a patient that she was no longer employed. The new management or office/counter staff is dishonest, terminates excellent employees and I won't do business with people like that. You can't get a better person or employee than Bonnie and she, along with their customers deserve much better. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO HTD WITH THAT STAFF IN PLACE. The new owner hijacked a wonderful practice started by Dr. Fox then carried on by Dr. Brayman but sadly that fantastic 45+ year plus legacy is GONE.

They ran X-Rays, and told me that they wanted to refer me to a "specialist" to look at it further. I let them know again that I didn't think the tooth would last that long, and that my pain was extreme. They still made the referral and swindled me into a teeth cleaning...which I needed, but it just made the pain worse. When I called the "specialist's" office, the receptionist set an appointment for me, but told me I'd need to bring an additional $250 for some "test/assessment" that insurance normally doesn't cover. This is when I knew this was a racket. No resolution on my tooth (which did break completely 24 hours later). Will NEVER go again nor do I recommend. They were nice enough, but did not listen to anything I said, and wanted to sale me cleaning services and refer me to their cohorts for some grift they're doing. Siiiiiiiigh.

They're professional and knowledgeable while maintaining a comfortable and friendly environment. The lady at the front desk (sorry I didn't catch her name) was welcoming and was helpful with my very specific scheduling needs as well as my insurance questions. Michelle, the hygienist was great. She was well knowledged in her work. (She confirmed for me that I don't have periodontal disease which the last dentist I was seeing said I do have) After my cleaning with Michelle, Dr. Kakos Came and did the followup work. You can tell she takes pride in her work and cares about her patients, which was confirmed because her cell phone # is on her business card. I'd highly recommend Dr. Kakos and her office and staff!

I'm sharing this review as a mother who invested thousands of dollars trying to ensure her daughter…read morereceived quality cosmetic dental care--only to be deeply disappointed by the outcome and then contacted by an attorney after voicing our experience. I'm writing this with caution and sincerity, as I believe consumers have the right to honest feedback and transparency, especially when it involves health care. My personal experience with Dr. Kakos and her team was frustrating and disheartening. After my daughter received dental implants, we trusted this office to handle the cosmetic restoration. What followed were multiple appointments filled with color mismatches, design issues, and blame placed on everything except the care provided--from my daughter's gum and tooth structure to previous orthodontic work, and even the implant surgeon's technique. None of these explanations changed the fact that the results simply did not look right. Despite staff repeatedly saying the teeth looked "beautiful," my daughter was left with gray-toned, short crowns that appeared unnatural. The only solutions offered were invasive and unnecessary, in my opinion, such as gum surgery or shaving down healthy teeth to compensate. This left us feeling stuck, pressured, and ultimately misled. Thankfully, we found another provider, Dr. Danyal at Berkley Dental, who corrected the work in under two hours. The difference was immediate and validating. It's important to note that after initially posting my experience, I was contacted by legal counsel representing Dr. Kakos. I was disheartened--but not surprised--that a professional response came in the form of legal threats rather than genuine concern for patient satisfaction. I believe in patients' rights to speak about their care without being silenced or intimidated. So here I am again, stating clearly and respectfully: based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice for advanced or cosmetic procedures. If you're considering more than a routine cleaning, I strongly suggest seeking a second opinion. This review reflects my own experience and opinion and is protected under federal and state consumer rights laws, including the First Amendment and the Consumer Review Fairness Act.
