I was relying heavily on pain meds for many years to ease the sharp and biting pain that would radiate along the side of my face. Things gradually continued to get worse over the years and I was desperate for help. I came to see Dr. Chiu after having tried many doctors over the years without success: Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, my PCP, Neurologists, TMJ specialists, Massage therapists, Chinese medicine Doctors, etc. My expectation for him to help me was very low after seeing so many doctors and trying so many treatments that I only saw him without much else to lose. After my first visit with him, Dr. Chiu gave me hope! He explained to me that there was severe inflammation and nerve damage in my skull and neck that was creating the pain over my TMJ and producing the trigeminal neuralgia. His focus was to do treatment to diminish the inflammation and restore normal nerve activity to the area of nerve damage. He was very confident that he could help me not only relieve my terrible pain, but also resolve the problem! I was cautiously optimistic of course, but after a few treatments, I was able to open my mouth significantly wider than before with less pain! It took about 6 weeks of treatment for my jaw to open all the way with very little pain. Over the years I got used to opening my mouth about halfway open with a lot of jaw pain so my range of motion was very poor. This time, I could open it all the way for the first time in decades and with minimal pain! After further treatment for a few more weeks, my TMJ and trigeminal neuralgia had completely resolved! From that point on, I could eat without worrying about jaw pain on each bite of food, I could converse normally without struggling with jaw pain, and it just felt like I was freed from this chronic debilitating problem that was a huge stress in my life for so long. I never thought this could ever happen for me! Dr. Chiu's ability to diagnose this neurological condition of mine and to provide the effective treatment for it has been life-changing for me to say the least! I am forever grateful for his medical knowledge, experience, skill, and warm-heart behind it all. If you are struggling with chronic pain, TMJ problems, headaches, or any joint problems that are not going away, please give Dr. Chiu the opportunity to help you. I'm sure you wont be disappointed!

It's fantastic that so many people have gotten help from him. Unfortunately, my experience with his practice and treatment was not a positive one. I came to the practice with significant health issues and was very hopeful that I had finally found someone who could help. Before I committed to treatment, there were red flags and my intuition told me this was not a good fit. In retrospect, I wish I would have listened to myself, but I was so desperate for help. My treatment consisted of being placed on a very limited diet. I was already struggling with significant weight loss due to my condition, and lost additional weight all while still dealing with pain on an almost daily basis. Scheduling was also a source of frustration. Dr. Chiu would not make appointments on the spot. He would text his availability not taking the patient's schedule into account. So, not only would you have to sit around waiting for his text, but you also had to see if your schedule would work with his. I'm a super busy person, so this was always a challenge. Early on in the course of treatment, I knew the treatment wasn't working. Therefore, I requested a copy of my contract because I wanted to cancel further treatment. Unfortunately, I learned it was quite difficult to cancel without forfeiting a substantial amount of money already paid. I felt pressured when making the initial decision to commit to treatment. Statements such as "Let me prove that I can help you" and "I don't know what else you're going to do," along with being told that a "special" price was ending soon, created a sense of urgency when I was already vulnerable and looking for help. I would encourage anyone considering Dr. Chiu's practice to carefully review the contract and cancellation policy, understand the exact treatment plan, and ensure you are comfortable with the financial commitment before signing up. I truly regret my decision to undergo his treatment plan. Not only did it not work, but I lost a significant amount of money.

It was black, purple, and blue and the ankle was swollen when I arrive at Dr, Sheidayi. He took the time and went over many labs I have from various specialist over several years since. I also have Lupus, Sygrogen Syndrome, Rheumathoid Arthritis, High Blood Pressure, and High Cholesterol. My liver and kideny numbers were also high = ATS and ALT. Immediately he started me on Farxiga/Diapagliflozin and adjusted many of my other meds I was on. He started referring me to ALL new specilaist. I got a new Rheumatologist, Cardiologist, Gastroentrologist, Pulmanologist, Hemotologist, Nephrologist, etc. He actually calls them on my behalf in fornt of me at times to coordinate best treatments for me. While on the way, I called to inform them I would be about 5 minutes late, but I was told I had no appointment and that the doctor was not accepting new patients, despite the fact that I had already been scheduled and selected under my insurance. I want to mention that the office itself was clean, quiet, and well organized. There were two receptionists present, and both of them were respectful, kind, and did their best to assist us professionally. After insisting, I was told to come in. My father was in a wheelchair, weak and confused, and needed care. Unfortunately, Dr. Sheidaei's behavior was very unprofessional. He appeared impatient, dismissive, and spoke to us in a disrespectful manner. He also stated that he does not accept Medi-Cal patients, which was confusing given the prior confirmation. What was most upsetting was the tone and attitude we received during such a vulnerable moment. Instead of compassion, we felt judged and unwelcome. When I asked if he could also see my mother in the future, he responded in a very inappropriate and humiliating way, saying in a threatening tone that I should "not push things" or he might refuse to see my father as well. This was extremely distressing and unacceptable, especially given my father's condition. I understand that medical offices are busy, but basic respect and professionalism should always be present, especially when dealing with patients in critical conditions. Every request is met with resistance, suspicion, or refusal. She appears more concerned about protecting her license than actually helping her patients, which makes no sense when patients are simply asking for basic care--not anything illegal or inappropriate. As a primary care doctor, answering basic questions and assisting patients should be part of the job. Instead, she questions everything, dismisses concerns, and refuses to help unless something strictly requires her signature. This creates an uncomfortable and frustrating environment for patients who are simply seeking care. The office staff makes the experience even worse. The front office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. The physician assistant is also disrespectful and unhelpful. Phone calls are often unanswered, and when someone does pick up, staff members are rude, talk over you, or even yell. All they seem to care about is collecting co-pays and billing insurance, not patient care. The only positive person in this entire office is Mina, the Front receptionist. She is kind, respectful, and genuinely willing to help. Unfortunately, she is the only one. My wife and I have both been treated disrespectfully, and after this experience, we will never return. I strongly advise others to choose a different doctor--one who actually listens, respects patients, and is confident enough to provide care without fear. It seemed like no one took the time to put together my various symptoms and treat me as a whole person; they were only treating my individual symptoms. When I was admitted to the ER, they were shocked that as my PCP, he didn't prescribe ANY medication earlier to prevent my condition from getting worse. Through what I learned at the ER, I realized how improperly I was cared for. A few days before going to the ER, Dr. Tsai just told me to take something over the counter. He constantly brushed off my concerns. If I was cared for properly, I wouldn't have had to go through the ER and go through the pain I am going through every day from a condition that could have 100% been prevented. Through almost a year of working with him, Dr Tsai never informed me or conducted preventative care appropriately. When I signed up for his service, he stated that he was "pretty much always available." I trusted him, but this turned out to be far from true. I would try to contact him through the member portal and hope for a response from him. Sometimes I would have to message and follow up more than once to get a response. He doesn't have a proper scheduling system or calendar, so you need to call repeatedly and leave voicemails and just hope that he will return your inquiry. It was a ton of playing phone tag and inability to reach him or schedule appointments to follow up. Please do yourself a favor and keep searching for a different doctor. Update: I reached out to Dr Tsai directly to express these sentiments, but he never responded. It was through this constant negligence and lack of communication that prompted me to feel obligated to warn other people looking for care. He didn't respond to me, but he responded immediately to this Yelp review. It's really sad to see a doctor trying prioritizing a business Yelp review or the impact he had on his own patient.
