Dr. Alevisos changed my life. I cannot speak more highly about how knowledgeable he is and how much a truly cares about his patients.

Dr Alevizos is the best doctor I have ever spoken with. He's kind, knowledgeable and so caring. He makes me feel like I'm a special person and that makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Alevizos gave me my life back! I never imagined that feeling exhausted, foggy, and out of shape would become my daily reality in my late 30s. As a husband and father, it was terrifying to feel I wasn't my best self, the man my wife married, who woke up every day with a thirst for life, full of joy and passion, working hard and being there for his family. I was slipping away from that person. One day, while shopping for sneakers with my wife, I bent down on one knee to try on a pair, and the thigh of my jeans ripped right down the middle. I just stared at it in disbelief. When I looked up, my wife was looking right back at me. In that embarrassing moment, it hit me how much weight I'd gained, how out of shape I'd become, how exhausted and foggy I felt, and how far I had drifted from the person I once was. When I raised concerns about hormone testing with my general doctor, I was quickly dismissed and told, "That's just part of getting older, you'll have to get used to it." When I mentioned testosterone levels, instead of testing, I was offered antidepressants. I then saw an endocrinologist who ran lab work and prescribed thyroid and testosterone medication based on those results. However, their focus seemed mostly on numbers and checking boxes rather than listening to how I was still feeling. Even after almost two years of treatment, I was still exhausted, foggy, and struggling. When I brought this up repeatedly, I was told, "This is just part of getting older. You're adjusting to your new normal." Everything changed when I met Dr. John Alevizos. From my very first visit, he really listened and asked detailed questions about my work, sleep, diet, training, and family life. He ordered a comprehensive hormone panel and explained what the numbers actually meant for me. He adjusted my thyroid and testosterone medications, tailoring a plan that fit my body and lifestyle. Over the course of about a year, with regular blood work and medication adjustments, I gradually started to feel like myself again. Today, in my 40s, I wake up clear-headed, energized, focused, and passionate. I'm 50 pounds lighter than I was in my late 30s, and while I'm back to pushing myself in the gym and feeling strong, what matters most is that I feel like the best version of myself--the man my wife married, the father my son looks up to, and the provider my family depends on. Life is short, and the people we love deserve the best version of us. Dr. Alevizos helped give that back to me, and I'll always be grateful. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This doctor aggressively overmedicated me with thyroid hormones I did not need, despite clear lab results showing normal thyroid function. He prescribed dangerously high doses of progesterone that have caused me severe physical and mental distress, and ultimately shut down my thyroid, leading to hypothyroidism and ongoing health issues. When I called the office in distress, desperate for help, he was dismissive, condescending, and outright rude. He had the audacity to tell me, "I have paying customers in the office," as if my well-being and safety were an inconvenience. This doctor's reckless prescribing practices and complete lack of empathy put my health--and my life--at risk. I trusted him to support me through hormone therapy, but instead I was treated like a problem, not a person. Avoid at all costs. Your health is too important to leave in the hands of someone who clearly does not care. read more

Dr. Alevizos and his entire team are the absolute most caring, compassionate, amazing team. I've been a patient of Alevizos Medical for 8 or 9 years. If I could go to Dr. Alevizos for everything, I would. He and PA, Amy Neterer, represent what the field of healthcare should be. He goes above and beyond in terms of continued learning and listening to understand how he can help. He's also an ER Dr. He helped me and my sister with our genetic autoimmune issues and I am forever grateful. Also, while the front desk people are a little green, they are so sweet and do their best. read more

Very thorough first visit. Looking forward to my progress over the next year. Dealing with chronic fatigue.

Was looking for someone I could trust to help me navigate a desire to optimize health in mid life, and Dr. Alevizos has been exactly right. Increasingly I was feeling a decline in my afternoon energy, recovery from things I enjoy doing, and a general sense of deterioration of my body. I'm about 7 months into treatment and I feel like I did 10 years ago. My energy is great all day. I recover quickly from hard workouts. My joints and ligaments feel strong again. Very glad I found Dr. Alevizos. read more

After consulting 15 specialists I finally discovered Dr. Alevizos. He looked at the results of my blood tests and scans (that the other 15 doctors had dismissed as normal and/or in my head) and immediately recognized that it was totally treatable menopausal symptoms. So glad I decided to see him. I highly recommend that you skip the 15 specialists and go straight to Dr. Alevizos. Just wanted to add an update as I had a follow up visit last week.....All the joint ache and fatigue that I was experiencing completely disappeared within weeks after making the hormone changes suggested by Dr. Alevizos. I have just had a follow up visit where he tweaked a few of the hormones. This has been the best medical experience I have had in decades. Worth every penny!!!!!! read more

I have been a patient of Dr John Alevizos for over four almost five years. Dr Alevizos is a knowledgable doctor however his front office staff are young inexperienced and unprofessional. Dr Alevizos has raised his prices almost every year that I have been with him he charges $285 for a ten minute phone call in order to just renew my prescriptions with no blood work having been done to review. He's always seems rushed, he's never remembers me, after five years he has continued to confuse me with a different patient with the same name. I recently need an MRI after a breast ultrasound Dr Alevizos wrote the order incorrectly so my insurance did not cover it, once the results were sent to him he never reached out with the results, I have never had a medical professional fail to contact me ASAP once critical results were received. There are many other qualified physicians that provide HRT in the area for a price that makes sense. It is my opinion after five years with Alevizos, that he is arrogant and has a bit of a god complex, you can do better. read more

Dr Alevizos changed my life! My hormones were completely out of whack from bad shit Kaiser was giving me. No matter what I tried for lifestyle changes; diet and exercise, i still felt like shit. I gave my blood work to Dr. A and he prescribed me with different thyroid medication as well as TRT, and it completely changed my hormone levels for better. Weight loss, libido, just overall drive I can thank because of him. All my blood work came back normal. Fuck Kaiser get a specialist like Dr. Alevizos! It's priceless to save your health. Highly recommended if you need someone to save your life. read more

Alevizos Medical - The New and Improved me thanks to Dr. Alevizos! - Family Practice Near Me - Irvine, California

I am 40 years old and I was struggling with weight loss, depression, eczema, insomnia, fatigue, and hair loss after having 2 kids. I went to a regular doctor for blood work and he told me that everything was good. I have worked out and ate healthy but nothing was working. I struggle for 4 years until I found DR. Alevizos. All of the staff including Dr. Alvezios were very professional and welcoming. He put me on Hormone replacement therapy and I can't be more happy. I am losing my weigh, have more energy and I can finally sleep through the nights. One thing he told me the first time that I will never forget is " when you take this pill you will sleep like a baby". Yes!!!! After the first pill I could finally sleep through the night after 4 years. He explained everything to me and did not rush the appointment time. My hormones were all over the place. Nurses are also very kind and helped me to search where I can pay the lease amount for my medications. They really take the time. I am very happy that I found this doctor. Thank you!!! Hands down my favorite Doctor. I've been seeing Doctor A for almost a year. He's caring, compassionate, and a great listener. Also he goes above and beyond a typical doctor. He designed a treatment plan that incorporate my blood work but also took into account how I felt. I am 38 (almost 39) and I feel like I am 20, thanks in large part to Doctor A. His office staff is also awesome. Never have to wait for an appointment. You can typically get an appointment same day or next day. Both me and my wife use Doctor Alevizos as our primary care physician. Love him. read more

Dr. Alevizos is beyond amazing. We have been so lucky to have had him as a doctor in his previous practice and now his current practice. We have been seeing him for almost to 20 years now. He is compassionate and truly cares about your well being, your concerns and really listens to what you have to say. I highly recommend Dr. Alevizos. I have been seeing him for several years regarding TRT. He knows his stuff and the quality of my life has improved simply because I feel better, have more energy, lost weight, and increased libido. He's always upbeat, encouraging, engaging, and funny. The proof is in the results. If you are a man who is starting to feel the effects of aging, you owe it to yourself to go see Dr. Alevizos. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful an experience I have had with Dr. Alevizos and his staff. I was having so many hormonal issues (unbeknownst to me) and saw doctor after doctor with little to no results. I began seeing Dr. Alevizos about a month ago. Wasn't sleeping, high anxiety, no energy, gaining weight. Within one month of treatment I have lost 10 lbs, kicked my anti-anxiety medication, wake up with ease, sleep well throughout the night- I'm a new person. Please take the time to care for yourself and see Dr. Alevizos. I trust him so much, I scheduled an appointment for my 19 year old daughter. Completely professional and results-oriented. He gets it! read more

Before going to Alevizos I was constantly tired, depressed and overweight. Once I spoke with Dr. John and we completed various tests of all my hormones and blood work he let me know I wasn't where I was supposed to be for my age. After some adjustments with various vitamins and hormone therapy, I feel incredible with tons of energy. I am able to perform at work and at the gym with focus and stamina that I haven't felt in years. Thank you I will definitely recommend friends and family! read more

I have lived a very active life. With that I have had to see a lot of doctors. I have never meet a doctor that really... I mean REALLY cares as much as Dr. John!!! So I have to say my experience with Dr Alevizos has been amazing. I started with his weight loss on July 1 2021. I weighed in at almost 290 lbs. As of Sept 15 2021, I weighed in at 228lbs. His advice and treatment has made a diet and fitness struggle that I had for a long time, much easier and long lasting than other programs I have had before. I highly recommend that if you do want to make a life style change, don't wait to set up a consultation with Dr Alevizos. It will change everything for you. read more

Disappointed I expect a doctor to care for the patient...not a corporation. I realize that in an insurance driven industry (like medicine), $'s are important. The optimist in me hopes that people come before profit, but the realist in me doesn't have enough evidence to prove otherwise. Dr. Alevizos proved to me that $ are first. My fiance broke her foot at work. If you're familiar with Workers Comp, and all the BS that goes with it, sigh here. So check it out. On the initial office visit (the day of the injury), she was seen by Dr. Alevizos. He released her for work the next day (with a broken foot). But...she also had an appointment to see an ortho specialist the next day. As she was checking out the first day, she was told that her company offered a "work from home" option so that there was no reportable time lost and there wouldn't be lost wages. My fiance agreed to the arrangement. The Ortho specialist prescribed "work from home" for 3 weeks. One week later she got an email from her company informing her that she needed to "report" to Dr. Alevizos. When she called, she was informed that an appointment had been made for her for that day, even though no one from the company or from Dr. Alevizos office had bothered to reach out...hmmmm...maybe if she had an email address or a cell phone...OH Wait..She Does. At that emergency visit Dr. Alevizos charged that the "work from home" program didn't exist. He accused her of misleading the clinic in regard to the "work from home" program, which was odd, because it was the clinic that informed her about the program from her companies HR department to begin with. Lastly, when Dr. Alevizos examined my fiance, he was checking her ankle. It was her foot that was broken. He had seen the x-rays on two previous occasions and advised her on the diagnosis, but on this last visit apparently that had escaped him. He didn't even examine the correct area. Disappointed. read more

I have been extremely happy with Dr. Alevizos and his team. Dr. Alevizos is truly HANDS DOWN one of THE BEST physicians I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has changed my life for the better in a multitude of ways and helped to restore my self-confidence, my pizzazz, the sparkle in my eyes, and the joy in my life that I thought I would never get back after horrible experiences with several other physicians. Originally, my fiance and mother-in-law discovered Dr. A and began raving about him since day 1- so much so that I knew I had to see the miracle of a doc he is for myself. Let me tell you- I was not disappointed!!! Dr. A has the best bedside manners and unlike many other physicians, he cares genuinely about the well-being of his patients on a level that is far superior than most. His treatment practices reflect his progressive ideology. Dr. A believes in optimization of the body rather than just mediocrity. He is extremely knowledgable, always on the cutting edge of the latest technologies, and his dedication to his craft is reflected in his encounters with his patients. It is clear that Dr. A is passionate about transforming his patients into the best versions of themselves. I am living proof :) Before I saw Dr. A, I was debating seeing a therapist to deal with my unstable mood fluctuations, my constant exhaustion, and my sudden excessive weight gain. I felt hopeless and as though I would never be able to be the "old me." I adjusted my sleep, my diet, my workouts, my environment- yet nothing seemed to work. One of the hardest things for me to deal with was my changing body image since I have always been petite. After I saw Dr. A, my life changed for the better. I am more energetic, more joyful, more confident, my body is better than it has ever been, my mood is stable, and I feel as though I could conquer the world again! Dr. A took the time to talk to me and really address my concerns. He was not judgmental and understood the issues I was dealing with on a deeper level and was very eager to resolve them. My life would not be the same, had it not been for being introduced to Dr. Alevizos. I know my mother-in-law and fiance would say the same ten times over :) To top things off, his staff is extremely kind and accommodating, his office has been newly renovated and is beyond elegant, and there is hardly ever a wait when I visit his office. Ginger, at the front, is so kind and accommodating. Jennifer, his back office Nurse/PA, is extremely sweet and helpful. I cannot thank Dr. Alevizos and his staff enough for changing my life and reigniting the flame within me. I could literally rave on forever and ever about Dr. A and his staff- rather, I encourage anyone and everyone reading this to call his office NOW and get in to see Dr. A the wonderful splendor! I love his office and the care I have received so much so that my brother and mom already have appointments with him this month- with my dad and other family members soon to pay him a visit! I thank my lucky stars that my fiance discovered Dr. A! I am forever grateful for the care I have received at Alevizos Medical and will be continuing to see Dr. A and sending people his way :) THANK YOU ALEVIZOS MEDICAL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!! read more

I made an appointment to discuss a weight loss program with Doctor Alevizos based on a recommendation of a friend. I have lost and gained 10 - 30 lbs for years even though I eat healthy, whole foods and exercise regularly. I already had a good start of an eight pound loss before my appointment. I watched all of the doctors videos and read his articles before my phone appointment. I found Dr. Alevizos very positive, patient and informative. He ordered extensive labs to determine my health and weight loss plan before our in person appointment. Dr. Alevizos spent 45 minutes with me reviewing my lab results and treatment plan. Over the last 10 weeks I have lost an additional 26 pounds and I feel great! I look forward to losing at least 12 more pound to get to a healthy BMI and I know this time the weight will not come back because I have a solid plan of exercise (HIIT exercise), healthy, satisfying nutrition, and prescription vitamins and hormones.
