Had my inital appointment with Dr. Nelson today and I'm glad I didn't read these reviews beforehand. I think she is absolutely wonderful! As a two-time cancer survivor, I've seen my share of physicians...so I do not hand out compliments easily!!! When I entered office, I noticed rhe cutest yorkie sitting behind the reception desk. I thought it was a bit odd but, as a dog lover, I was amused. As I was called back, Dallas (the yorkie) led the way to the treatment room. It was then that Dr. Nelson introduced me to Dallas, the office's emotional support dog. Dallas stood on her hind legs to greet me, then promptly settled on my foot. She did not leave my side the entire time However, I was most impressed that Dr. Nelson took the time to read my medical history. She actually knew all about the reason for my visit and my history. Usually, I find myself getting angry during medical appointments because it soon becomes apparent that the doctor has not read thru my medical history...why make us fill out the forms it you are not going to review them! So, a big thank you to Dr. Nelson for doing her homework! Long story short, I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Nelson...and Dallas! read more

I was referred to Dr Nelson by my son who had foot surgery several years ago. I had similar surgery with another service last July and am still having some difficulties. Getting an appt was easy and my insurance was verified right away. Dr Nelson was very thorough. She asked questions about my prior experience, examined my feet and reviewed the medical notes I provided from the previous orthopedic services. She really took time understanding my concerns and explained further medical options. Very patient and personable. I would recommend her to other people needing her services. read more

I had such high hopes. Dr. Nelson quickly dashed them. She wouldn't listen, never even looked at my feet/ toes and I left in tears still hobbled with pain and dysfunctional feet. read more

My experience wasn't great. I feel like she didn't really care about us, everything had s $, I purchased molds for.my son at 600.00 a pop. I'm being told that they will.charge me a other 100.00 + to see if they fit properly. There's something really wrong with this. read more

Waste of time! $55 co payment just to be told they can't look at my toe nail because of polish. Why not tell the patient to remove it before coming in. They couldn't take a sample of the toe nail because it's too short but the nail won't grow. Told to come back in a month!!! Ummm no. I'm not wasting another $55 read more

Dr Nelson needs to work on her office staff, the receptionist and the office manager, because they are both rude. The receptionist treated me like I had the plague because I didn't have on a mask. I tried to stand at a safe distance and cover my face. Instead of offering me a mask and grabs a card and rudely says, "Can you just call us?" When I asked about the doctor's availability she was dismissive. The receptionist told me she needed my insurance card in order to set the appointment. I stepped away from the counter to retrieve my card. As I was standing at the counter, card in hand, a patient walked into the receptionist area (to closeout her visit). The receptionist told me, "Stand over there." So I left the office. I went back to talk to her office manager. The receptionist first said the woman at the desk was the office manager. Then she said she was the doctor. After talking to the office manager, who apparently witnessed the whole interaction, the receptionist sarcastically said, "Well if I did anything to offend you I apologize. I'll be the bigger person." She even accused me of being rude to her. As I left the office they both laughed. If this is how the office staff treats potiential patients, I'll pass. read more

Dr. Nelson is unprofessional and was very inconsiderate of my medical condition. She started a treatment plan with me and did not complete her services. Bad Podiatrist. read more

Dr. Nelson took care of my achy feet while I was on the East Coast for the inauguration. She is the best!

If you like Ghetto fabulous then this is the place to go...made appointment and received a call back an hour later just to tell me I hadn't reach my deductible yet on insurance (ok my bad - early in the year, geez!) and would therefore be "prepared" to pay $100 for the visit. As if this was a possible big issue...LOL! Ok not a problem.. Arrived 5 min early for appointment with paperwork already filled out. I'm a stickler for being on time and expect same, especially with a podiatrist... I mean come on, its a podiatrist. Therefore, I don't think it was unreasonable to expect to be seen within 5-10 mins of my appointment.. Alas, twas not to be...10 mins and nothing...then receptionist calls me up again to ask for my payment...haven't seen the doctor yet. I'm not one for spending a lot of time at DR offices however I must say that in all my years I've never had a physician's office expect payment before service is/was rendered. OK maybe she has had numerous folks come in and then make a mad dash for the door rather than give up ALL THAT MONEY! Just kidding - how fast could they possibly be after she's worked on their feet...then again maybe that's a good sign?!? How does the saga end...for $100 bucks got some skin trimmed off my toe - thought was ingrown toenail - she said was a callous which she trimmed. Mind you - kinda of expected an examination of my feet in general - nothing. Doctor personality - blah! and seems to have a problem looking directly at people when she speaks - as I'm hard of hearing I found that to be very irritating, even after telling her before we began and asking her to repeat herself several time. Am I cured...doc says well if pain continue come back and we will do a "procedure" (translation -MO MONEY!!!!). The Dog was cute though!!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Nelson for years. Even though I have moved out of state, I periodically travel back to Maryland because she is my podiatrist of choice. I trust her and am very pleased with her work. read more

Dr. Nelson and her staff are the best. Very pleasant and reliable, I have referred friends and family to her office.

After severely spraining an ankle, receiving urgent care treatment, and finding Dr. Nelson after being told to follow up with a doctor. I visited her one time, two week after the initial incident when I was able to put just a little bit of weight on it. It took forever for her to pull up the x-ray that I brought in. Her only advice was to just keep using the crutches, she said that next time I come in for a follow up she might put me in a boot. I asked for a prescription refill on my 600mg ibuprofen for pain, she had me waste time going to the pharmacy to see she prescribed me an over the counter 200mg instead. I ended up calling my primary care doctor for the actual refill. I was already scheduled to go on a trip 2 weeks later that included heavy walking and made an appt for the same day I planned to leave. That morning I get a voicemail that my appt was cancelled because she was sick, with it being too late to call around I had to proceed with my trip with just ace bandages and my ankle and foot were constantly swollen, which could have been prevented. I scheduled another appt with her for the day after I returned from my trip. When my flight landed at 5pm the day before I turned my phone on and had a voicemail that she had to CANCEL ONCE AGAIN. Ridiculous! I had wake up early to scramble to find another podiatrist because I knew I'm never going back to a doctor who would cancel twice.Found a great one who fit me in and put me in a boot that day and was disgusted because I wasn't placed in one initially. Now I have to stay in this boot for 3 weeks, when I could've been had one and probably have been healed by now. read more
