ECG quickly diagnosed my issue as a short circuit in a ribbon cable from the motherboard to the LCD. This essentially "fried" the screen. It was an issue that just comes about from opening and closing the screen, and I was unlucky enough for the odds to eventually "favor" my laptop. The repair was quick (less than a week to diagnose, order, receive, and install the part). ECG even seemed to optimize my startup, as the laptop seems to start up faster than it did previously, so that was a nice bonus. The final bill was about 30% UNDER the quoted estimate at drop-off, so how can anyone argue with that? Hopefully I won't need their services again anytime soon, but if I do, I plan on revisiting this "garage". :)

(Note: A repair of your Mac may void your Apple warranty. Mine had expired by the time I came to this shop.) Hundreds less than the Apple cost and not being without my work computer for a week was a huge blessing. I prefer to support small businesses, and I definitely recommend this shop!
