My dad worked for Dr. Pepper/Keurig for nearly 40 years, so this was so fun to see. So many cool artifacts from the beginning of Dr. Pepper to now. The gift shop is so cute with various souvenirs. The soda fountain building is fun! You can pre-book a make-your-own-soda event. We forgot to do that, but it looked really fun. The free soda was a plus. Fun with the kids at the museum. Had a 12, 8,and 7 year old and looking for summer adventures to keep them busy. The museum is very well organized with lots of nostalgic pieces and fun advertisements to see. Interesting to see the changes in design over the years. After the museum we got the floats and they were tasty and a perfect treat especially in the TX heat. They have some fun flavors of Dr. Pepper items you can also purchase like popcorn and cases of pop. Nice family time and place to escape the heat. Spent about 2.5 hours. My daughter has been a Dr Pepper fan her entire life, so while we were on vacation, we finally had the opportunity to visit the Dr Pepper Museum. It was a fun experience and much busier than we expected. We really didn't know what to expect going in, but the museum focuses more on the history of Dr Pepper and the soft drink industry than on interactive exhibits. One interesting thing we learned is that the museum is actually a nonprofit organization and is not operated by the Dr Pepper company. We also did the "Make Your Own Soda" experience. It was fun and unique, although it seemed to be geared more toward younger kids. Your general admission ticket also includes a free drink, which was a nice bonus. The gift shop was well stocked with some unique Dr Pepper merchandise that we hadn't seen anywhere else, although it was a little small and could get crowded. Parking was easy and conveniently located across the street for $10. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the experience. If you're already visiting Waco, I definitely recommend stopping by. I've visited Waco several times over the years, but this was my first opportunity to tour the Dr Pepper Museum--and I'm glad I finally did. As a longtime Dr Pepper enthusiast, I especially enjoyed learning about the brand's history and seeing how it has evolved over the years. The museum is well-maintained, clean, and organized across three floors of exhibits and historical displays. Since it's a self-guided experience, you can explore at your own pace. I'd estimate most visitors will spend about 1 to 1.5 hours here, though history buffs could easily spend closer to two hours. After touring the museum, be sure to stop by the gift shop, which offers a wide selection of Dr Pepper memorabilia and merchandise. Needless to say, I left with more than a few items. This was an excellent visit today. It was so great learning a little bit of history. I had no idea I would love this place so much. I went here strictly for my husband because he loves Dr Pepper! Everyone here was very kind and helpful. The history of Dr Pepper includes the founders collection and sharing of marbles and on each marble was the second Commandment. Just goes to show you -- "acknowledge God in all you do and he will make your path straight!" He was also very passionate about equal rights for all people and put people of color in his advertisements long before it was acceptable to much of the public. The fact that this soda pop was the first soda pop, even before Pepsi and Coke and was founded right here in our lovely state of Texas , where we're just a little bit closer to God, warms my heart There are lots of very interesting exhibits to see, including the largest Dr Pepper bottle. They have special packages where you can make your own soda pop. They give you a free Dr Pepper with your admittance ticket. The gift shop is very nice, I picked up a lot of nice things in there, including a Dr Pepper shirt. Everyone I saw seem to be having a good time. They have plenty of parking and parking cost $10. We decided on this stop last minute so we really didn't have enough time to fully enjoy it but as a huge Dr. Pepper fan it was neat to see and experience! We live about 15 hours away and made it a detour on our trip so not likely I'll have the chance to visit again so I couldn't pass it up! Lots of really cool history! You need about 1.5-2 hours to fully enjoy it all. The museum itself is reasonably priced. The overpriced part is the make your soda experience. It's definitely a neat experience I'm glad we did but the cost is too high for what you get! And I feel like you should be able to do the soda experience without the museum admission since it's a separate building. The gift shop was small but lots of fun Dr P stuff. My kids and I were on a road trip around Texas and Waco was definitely going to be a stop. It ended up being my favorite stop actually. My son's favorite soda is Dr. Pepper so we had to take a stop by the museum. We got there at opening on a weekday so there was plenty of free parking on the street. All of the staff was very friendly. There is a lot of information so be prepared for a lot of reading. There are 3 separate buildings...one is the exhibit, another is the gift store, and the third is the soda fountain, tasting experience, and some more exhibits. But it was a great exhibit about the history of soda, Dr. Pepper, and the executives. Make sure to stop by the soda fountain to get your free drink. We decided to upgrade to the float. I chose the strawberries and cream float and it was so tasty. It's a good thing I don't live closer. Great experience and your wristband gets you entry all day long. read more

We enjoyed our visit to the Dr Pepper Museum. The staff were very friendly. We went around 2 pm and it was busy! They need to sell timed tickets like some of the other museums. They have a lot of interesting information to read. There are 3 floors and the hallways are narrow so be prepared to walk close to the wall. They have an elevator too if you need it. Now my family are the fans, so we stood in a very long line to get a cup of free Dr. Pepper. It's a small cup of the regular flavors that you can get at the store. So we paid $4 extra for a specialty flavor that we couldn't get in a store. I got the diet Carmel cream and hubby got the vanilla cherry. We enjoyed those. A must-see when visiting Waco. The history of soda and Dr. Pepper is fascinating, but including the local history makes this trip personal. I enjoyed seeing the original, which had been well used, along with the equipment ads and stories of past company employees. The convenience store space for items sold during different decades. We had a blast at the Dr. Pepper Museum! It was so cool getting to learn the history and see all of the changes through the years. So much information that I didn't even know about. This was a must-see stop for me because My Daughter is the biggest Dr Pepper fan in the world so I had to drop in to shop for her. After a conference in Plano, I hopped on a bus and scheduled myself for less than 24 hours in Waco! I didn't realize that the #Magnolia properties are closed on Sunday, so I found other fun ways to get the Waco hospitality from the moment I arrived. After a fun afternoon with Waco Tours, where they talked a bit about the origins of Dr Pepper, they were kind enough to drop me off at the door of the Dr. Pepper Museum, knowing that I only had under an hour left to see the place that day. I decided to wait on the actual museum until I am able to come back with my daughter so I went straight to the gift shop and bought a few things for her, then I went in to taste a Dr Pepper float. But you have way more choices than just Dr Pepper! it's easy to get overwhelmed, plus I didn't know all the soda flavors so I asked the person at the register what is her favorite and she told me it was the Dr Pepper strawberries & cream so I said yes please! I love any kind of soda float, and this one was really cool because it tasted like a drink version of crunch berries. Despite the sweetness of the ice cream and the soda, it was still very refreshing. It was super cool too that I got to keep the red plastic cup. Perfect pick me up to keep me going that evening! My family and I had a great time at the Dr. Pepper Museum! As a fan of history and Dr. Pepper, the museum was very entertaining and informative. I enjoyed the old packaging that they display on-site, as well as the interactive aspects. Pricing was $12 per person (adult and child). Although the line was quite long upon entry, we never felt overcrowded by the amount of people walking around. The main portion is 3 stories tall, which each level showcasing different eras of the company. There's a gift shop where you can purchase various merch, including cane sugar Dr. Pepper. Let me start by saying this clearly: I LOVE Dr Pepper. I'm absolutely the target audience for a place like this, which honestly made the disappointment even stronger. We made a day trip out from Austin specifically to visit, and thankfully there's excellent BBQ nearby because otherwise the trip would have felt like a complete bust. The biggest issue is that the museum lacks soul. Ironically, the most interesting part of the experience was the historic building itself. Beyond that, everything felt strangely impersonal, overly polished in a corporate, manufactured kind of way rather than nostalgic or genuinely immersive. A lot of the exhibits came across as plastic, cheesy, and more gift-shop attraction than meaningful museum experience. For a brand with this much history and cultural identity, I expected something with more warmth, storytelling, and character. Instead, it felt more like a branded attraction than a place celebrating the legacy of Dr Pepper. If you already happen to be in Waco and are a huge fan, it may be worth a quick stop. But I definitely would not recommend making a dedicated drive from Austin for it. read more

Fun stop in Waco, Texas! I'm a Dr. Pepper enjoyer and many of the people in my group were too. Had no idea that this uniquely delicious carbonated beverage originated from here. There is a LOT to look at and read but we were speed running the museum as there was much to do later on in the day for us. It's about $12 for entry and each ticket comes with a free soda at the end. You can choose any of the standard flavors such as the classic Dr. Pepper (diet or sugared), Big Red (tastes a bit like the gum), IBC Root Beer, or 7UP. OR you can use your ticket to get $1 credit towards a menu upgrade. It's unfortunately one or the other, not both, but oh well! Nice to get a to go cup beverage at the end of our trip. We decided to add in some fall flavor to our diet Dr. Pepper, caramel and cranberry. Cranberry was quite good, but the caramel tasted disgustingly burnt and sweet, even after being mixed, so I'd skip that. The first floor is the entirety of Dr. Pepper's inception as well as the history of soda in general. There's information on the actual factor there, the well/pit where they would toss random trash and other things (lol), and the lives and duties of the workers that made the drink. The second floor is a mix of modern day Dr. Pepper, how Dr. Pepper did globally (huge spoiler alert, NOT VERY WELL LOL), the architecture of the building itself, other historical figures that allowed for success of the company, and a theater room showing various Dr. Pepper commercials asking people the meaning behind them. There is a separate building to the museum as well as a separate gift shop (unfortunately quite overpriced and the designs were a bit bland). In the separate building there's historical Dr. Pepper merchandise, 7UP's history, a room where they do an interactive show (gotta pay extra for this) and the actual fountain drink area. Overall a quick and fun stop with loads of information. PS. Imagine including Dr. Pepper history related to Japan and NOT have a Steins;Gate reference, kinda cringe. read more

When you pay $20/person to make a soda, it should be more than just pick a base Dr. Pepper syrup and add syrup flavor as if you were using a Soadstream machine. What really made it disappointing was the soda water was flat. When asked about this, the folks said they knew and could not figure out what was wrong with the machine. So, on this day we essentially made the base of a cough syrup. The place was over-run with tourists. It was a 30 minute wait to get a soda at the soda shop. It was a similar wait to get a ticket to the museum. There was a regulated 5 minute wait to get into the gift store. It is very telling that while you can purchase experiences online, you can't purchase a general admission ticket online. The folks that run the place should make it mandatory as it would really help them with crowd control. Perhaps because it was a Saturday, during the summer, the crowd was overwhelming, but truly it destroyed my desire to ever return. There is parking, right across the street. It is $10.50, the .50 is due to the fact that you must pay via a QR code and it is convenience charge. That was galling to me, I have to use it and they are going to charge me for doing so. There is parking, free, about a block away and there is some street parking around that is also free. This experience was just a great big disappointment. read more

This place is great altogether, but I really just want to give a shoutout here. I sprang for the "Extreme Pepper Experience" for my little brother (by "little" I mean younger than I - he's actually 6' tall and in his 40s!) who has special needs and a very wholesome, all-consuming obsession with Dr Pepper. I'm so glad I did! Our tour guide, Katherine, was a top-notch docent at baseline. What put her in the "above-and-beyond" category, however, was the fact that she clearly understood my brother and his differences immediately. She was so kind and patient with him, without being cloying or condescending. (She was also patient with my excessive jabbering, for that matter - but the Extreme Pepper experience was about my brother, not me!) I wish I had also gotten the names of the two young ladies hosting the soda-making segment of the visit. They were there on December 6 at around 3p-ish. They were fantastic, so fun and kept things moving. They ask for donations for building upkeep, why? You are charging for admission. Free small drink at end was different as they hand mix Dr Pepper syrup and carbohydrates water in cup. We just finished the paranormal tour. 0/10 - NOT RECOMMENDED! Giving 1 star is being generous. Tour guides were Sydney and her roommate. I don't remember the roommate's name: 20-something year old female with brown hair in a pony tail, and eye glasses. We were sooo excited to take this tour - it was my main reason for coming to Waco; and I cannot begin to tell you what a disappointment it was. We felt like we were witnessing a slumber party of the tour guides. The level of boredom skyrocketed quickly. They only have one spirit box for the entire group - not one for everyone. The spirit box they used is such a level of low quality, it was insulting they even chose to use it. It was nothing more than a shabby AM/FM radio on static mode. There are so many other grade-A devices on the market. Surely, they can do better. Given that the tour lacked substance, we saw no reason for it to be conducted in the dark. Since it was, we assumed it was to enhance the feeling of the tour being more than what it turned out to be (a complete flop and a total waste of money). On the flip side: for the parts that were dimly lit, it was interesting to see the history of the building and employees who used to work there. But, that's not the reason we booked the tour. Perhaps the guides lost site of the reason WE were ALL there... not just the two of them. The communications with "Jacob" and "Victor" were just about the tour guides being besties with them. Long story short: we couldn't wait for it to be over. What a shame; because it has potential to be SO much better. read more

Since this city have few things on our agenda, this Dr Pepper museum was one of the target. I cannot believe Dr. Pepper origin from this small town. A line around the block in the morning but it cleared up later in the day and I was able to see some of the history of Doctor Pepper. (I've already been to the Pepsi pharmacy in New Bern NC.)
