The space is big and generally well organized so finding seating and concessions is not too difficult. The experience can vary depending on the event since some are very crowded and loud. Inside temperatures and comfort can also feel inconsistent at times. Food and amenities are average but the venue is kept reasonably clean and functional. Overall it is a solid place for community events and large gatherings in Waco especially if you are prepared for crowds and a lively atmosphere.

Avoid the Waco Hippodrome theater if you desire to do a performance here…read more Our non-profit was going to be doing a performance sometime this summer 2025 and I reached out to this venue right after the holidays sometime in February I believe. I wasn't asking for much just to be able to come by and see the possible space that we would be using and get the particulars on how much it would cost us or if it would take a percentage of the ticket sales that kind of thing. Several days went by without a response. So I actually called and got The Lovable Miss Congeniality herself Michelle who was about as helpful as a snake bite in the desert with no medical. She explained to me there's only one person that can help me and that's aaron. Turns out it took another several days to total an exact week before he got back to me. I responded by both Facebook Messenger phone text email and it was still another 4 days. After that I gave him a few Choice words and said I would be looking elsewhere which I did. So I narrowed it down to a couple in the area but did not like the pricing from those other venues so I thought it would go back to Hippodrome one more time and give them a second chance...bad idea. This second time when I emailed unfortunately Aaron was up to his old tricks and after hours and hours from an email that I sent which I know we got cuz he's a younger guy he's younger people get their texts and emails instantly they look at them and then decide whether to respond or not. I'm quite certain he looked at it and decided again like he did back in February not to respond in a timely manner and thus we're pulling the plug on any hope with the hippodrome theater and leaving them this well-deserved bad review. As far as a spectator I saw the Eagles wanna group a few years ago... it's like a tribute group to the Eagles and we were up in the balcony and it wasn't very comfortable and you had to kind of see through either the beams or some of the hand railing. It wasn't a very pleasant experience up there in the balcony. Other reviews have said that the food really sucks and is horrible. I don't know about that I cannot comment on that. The physical location seems cool because its historic it is right downtown Waco but they're giving this Historic Landmark a huge black eye by having p*ss poor customer service, ...actually nonexistent customer service.

William, who was working…read moreduring our visit, was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made us feel right at home from the start. My family enjoyed exploring all of the exhibits, starting with the fun showcase of college fight songs that got everyone in the spirit. We wrapped up our visit at the Southwest Conference (SWC) display, which has something for fans of every university. The sports simulators were a big hit with our whole family -- especially trying to throw amazing pitches in the baseball game and shooting baskets into the space station-themed basketball hoop. It was the perfect blend of history, hands-on fun, and Texas sports pride. Highly recommend for families, sports fans, and anyone looking for something unique to do in Waco!

2.5 There wasn't…read moremuch to look at here. This is a smaller gallery that has some paintings and some small artist areas downstairs. There were a few folks there selling things but it was pretty deserted. There's a stairway up to a higher level where the artists work but being the holiday season it was also pretty empty. The employee was very nice and was giving recommendations about a certain artist to check out. The parking situation is limited and you'll have to find a street spot or pay to be in a lot.

One of the main reason my family wanted to drive to Waco was to visit the Martin Museum. The museum…read moreis presenting the mixed media arts of two artists, Salvatore Meo and Debbie Carlson. We really wanted to see their arts, especially those of Debbie Carlson. Martin Museum is a pocket art museum located on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. The small museum was sectioned off into two smaller galleries, one for each artist. All the art pieces were intriguing and though provoking. The pieces flowed well with their arrangement. A nice and informative employee manning the galleries was especially helpful in directing us to visit the Baylor University art classrooms hallway that was connected to the museum. She encouraged us to view student art pieces that were on exhibit in the hallway. There were dozens of expressive and enjoyable student arts. We absolutely loved and enjoyed the arts of the two mixed media artists. The unexpected student arts were icing on the cake, a very pleasant surprise. Admission and parking were free.
