ATTENTION EVERYONE I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR…read more I got the number for Jason with Fishers Remodeling from my homeowner's association because they apparently do a lot of work in my neighborhood. The first project I needed done was some siding repair and a rebuild of a little gate out front, as well as repair of some rotted wood on my front steps. I obtained quotes from 5 different companies (well, tried to - two of the companies came, wrote down my information, and never sent an email or called). Jason responded with a very reasonable, professional, written quote within 48 hours (might have even been 24, it was a while ago, I can't remember now). He responded to every text message I sent immediately, showed up at EXACTLY the time he said he would, and the work was performed quickly and perfectly. Obviously I called him again for the next thing I needed done (overhead racks in the garage). Again, responded to every message and phone call, showed up when he said he would, did the work quickly and perfectly. Oh, and they are all super professional and nice and trustworthy and I literally took a nap in my room while they were working in the house, so there's that too. Not to sound overly effusive, but I am on project six with Fishers Remodeling and they have literally been flawless. Like, every other contractor is pretty much ruined for me. The one tragic part of this is now they are going to get super popular and start remodeling three million dollar mansions and I will never get them to assemble a Murphy bed for me again and then I'll have to start all over. But that's a problem for Future Me. Right Now Me is just enjoying the fact that YES I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR. I want them to do really great and stay around forever, so definitely call them for ALL THE PROJECTS. Just know that I will weep a tiny bit when they no longer have time for my non-3-million dollar undertakings. Happy remodeling!

Elk Roofing came highly recommended to me by a general contractor/handyman I have used for smaller…read morejobs around my home. I had a leak in the roof near my chimney flashing, and the job required more expertise than my handyman felt he had. I had a few larger roofing companies come out to give estimates, and all were either unwilling to do smaller jobs or had prices that seemed far too high for a relatively minor leak repair that was almost certainly caused by sealant failure. Elk came out within a couple days of my initial call (this was a minor leak and did not require immediate repair) and performed a thorough inspection of my roof. They agreed with my assessment that the leak was relatively minor and due to sealant failure, although they noted that some of the decking surrounding the leak would need replacement. They provided a very reasonable estimate, which included the full cost of materials. I hired Elk for the job and all work was completed within the week. Elk removed the shingles from the surrounding area and replaced the damaged decking with new plywood. They even took the time to match my shingles perfectly, ensuring that the repair would not be visible, and did a superior job flashing the chimney. It has been more than six months since the repair and I have had no further issues. After the job was complete, Elk took the time to help me store the excess shingles and plywood in my backyard shed, just in case they are needed for future repairs. As a bonus, they were less expensive than any of the big roofing companies I had out, and the contractor who did my job seemed far more experienced/knowledgeable than the technicians who provided my initial estimates. I was very pleased with the prompt, professional work I received and would definitely hire Elk again!

We called them due to an emergency; we had water over flow upstairs dripping down through the downstairs ceiling and within a few hours of being called they immediately began to set up equipment and dry out my home before any real damage like molds or rotting drywall could occur. Once it was all dry, they came back and did the proper repairs to the all the damaged drywall's and installed the new flooring upstairs and it looks absolutely amazing! I'll try to explain this "Not Good" rating as briefly as possible. If there was an option for…read more"Sucked" it would be more appropriate. In short, this man took my $2000 deposit, and over nearly two years (pre-COVID), failed to complete a single task in the contract. I asked for my money back and sent a demand letter. Dave gave excuses such as other jobs running over, personal injuries/limitations, family health issues, etc. He complained about how many times he had to come to my house to talk about the plans. While I admit that I did have an evolving vision that sometimes needed a face to face discussion, most of his trips were for his benefit, not mine (e.g., had to re-measure several times and even asked me to take measures to send). He stated that his right to keep the deposit was based on work already done. I never saw anything done. He also tried to withhold some of my items as "collateral" and in legal terms, that's called theft. I eventually had to make a trip to his workshop to pick up my property. I cannot speak to the quality of Dave's work, but I can share with you that he took advantage of someone in a state of grieving. I felt bad for each of his reasons as to why he couldn't finish the project because I was in a fragile state. In hindsight, I was manipulated. Dave may respond to this with unsubstantiated excuses. Near the end of my correspondence wit Dave, he sent me a final invoice that was $4000 over my quoted price stating that the job had caused him extra work and travel that was not anticipate. Again, I share with you that he NEVER DID ANYTHING in my house. Please choose a different carpenter to save yourself some time and money, and some very likely heartache.

So far...excellent !…read more Recently had a former employee liberate much of my belongings....mercifully being too damn stupid to steal the antiques... ...however...they did manage to damage. ..including cutting open seat cushions ?? Really ?? did ya think I was Tony Montana ??? cocaine stashed in the furniture ? ...anyway...called several restoration company's....who..apparently are all millionaires, lottery winners....or likely both....since no one bothered to call me back...even with several messages...helloooo ? Morons ? thousands to make !! ....except for Dave with FINIsmith... Dave came over the next day...looked at everything...made appropriate cooing noises....and said "yup...there is an app for that !" ....shocker of all shockers....he actually shot me an estimate later that day...in other words he exceeded what he said he would do...must be something wrong with him ?? The estimate was less than I expected...and..he showed up the next day to pick up the items....and....get this....ON TIME ! definitely something wrong with him....really....what contractor shows up on time ?? most have graduated summa cum laude from the Comcast school of rank non-professionalism. He is also going to build some custom cabinets to show off my beer coaster and matchbook collection. If ya need any restoration...refinishing...custom cabinets...give ol' Dave a shot at earning your business ! ....and...ladies...he is single...and a spittin' image of Ernest Borgnine !
