Dr Beauchamp is very knowledgeable and helpful. He resolved my daughter's breathing issues. I highly recommend Dr Beauchamp.

Initially was refused when I was heavily pregnant just because my combined care was with a different medical Centre. I explained that the appointment wasn't for the baby but was for me as I was ill - too ill to make it to my usual doctor who was in Dublin City centre. I was again refused because I wasn't doing combined care with them and when I asked if I could switch to them -suddenly was told they were full. I rang back after my son was born and was told that once he had the 6 week check up I could then book in for an appointment. When I tried to book receptionist was so rude to me about me not being registered. I had to ask her to explain the process of how to register she exasperatedly told me to write an email as if I should have known this already. I was not told any of this info on how to register previously. I was made to feel like an outsider trying to get into some exclusive club rather than a mother trying to get a GP for her son.

The receptionist was extremely rude in her attitude when she told me that they were "not taking on new clients" and then immediately hung up the phone. It is disgraceful for a place that is made to help people can so easily deny them from a basic need. I would definitely recommend to not go here if this is how they treat a potential paying customer/patient.

With the waiting room entirely empty I was informed that I couldn't get any treatment as the staff were "incredible busy" and there was no doctor in the building! Is this what passes for a doctor's surgery these days?I know what you are thinking, but the surgery was in opening hours a full three days after the last holiday. Even after stating my case that I was in serious pain and have been for days I was told there is "nothing we can do". Dear Simon Harris, Mary Hearney, look no further for your ideal model of the American health system, absolutely zero stars never recommend to anyone. Deansgrange medical centre, I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire, and I have a feeling the conviction is mutual.

BMC has had a…read moremessage on the phone for several years saying they are experiencing an unusually high volume of calls - which recently changed to the Pippo message. Most of the admin staff are polite and helpful. Others are rude and approach you like they are doing you a great favour to assist or deal with you. One of my elderly friends, who was terminally ill, and who had been going there for years told me that his doctor was very rude to him, which surprised me as he used to sing her praises. The doctors always seem under pressure and never know your history without scrolling up and down their computer while they talk or "listen" to you. With one doctor, when I started to explain symptoms, he told me several times, that I only had 15 minutes and in the end told me I had to prioritize which symptom I wanted to discuss with him during the appointment. Having had the experience of several occasions over the years of being left waiting for over 30 mins, I found this interesting. Sometimes I found the doctors listening skills, diagnoses and proposals for treatment very good. Other times not so good. One time, I had to go elsewhere to find out the cause of my issue so that it could be treated with the right medication.

If you're going to the doctor's in Ireland, you had better be at death's door. Because otherwise…read moreyou won't have any money left to get yourself a prescription. Of course, this is no fault of the doctors themselves (at least not individually), but at something like €70 to just walk into the office, be sure that you're genuinely ill. That being said, Beechlawn is quite a nice place. Moved from Eton Square to a purpose-built location on the Carrickbrennan Road, it's bright and fresh and airy...the polar opposite of what you feel going in there usually. The staff are pleasant and proper local physicians (they will always ask after your family, school, hobbies etc), and they're good at squeezing you in if you need an appointment asap. But if you can get away with just going to the pharmacist, it's a whole lot easier on the pocket!
