Dr Wendy Lynch is everything you could want from a dermatologist. I first saw her on referral from my GP (and a recommendation) for a suspected melanoma. After an excision it was confirmed, which resulted in a full removal. It was completely painless at all stages, with an excellent and reassuring follow up process. Dr Lynch couldn't have been more professional. She is straightforward, tells you what you need to know and is an expert in her field. I went to Wendy several years ago. I had already been diagnosed with Rosacea and one or two other skin conditions on my face but I felt there was more to it as I couldnt get it under control. I had to wait months to for my appointment as it was booked up and it cost a fortune to see her - even though my appointment would last about 20mins max. Wendy didnt give the impression that she was taken me seriously. Didnt listen to me and didnt seem to care. She reminded me of the DJ from Waynes World. She wasnt listening to me. She had her mind made up and seemed more interested in the prescription she was writing. I had done a lot of research into Rosacea etc and suggested it might be Demodex mites setting it off & had to convince her to test for them. She continued writing and insisted that wasnt the problem but eventually and reluctantly she agreed to test for them but in a flippant "yeah yeah Ill test for them" manner. Then she finished her prescription and instead of prescribing me with the tried and tested ROSEX, she put me on a "new cream" called Protopic which cost a massive 160e. I googled it and saw it was untested but was desperate so used it for a couple of weeks. Initially it worked but fairly quickly it started to make me flush bright red (something that never happened before) so I had to stop using it. Unfortunately it left me looking red all the time, especially my neck area. So I was worse than when I went into see her. Im convinced she was on commission to get people to use that drug and that that is why she prescribed it. It was new to the market and yet she was very keen to recommend it before any other cream. She didnt help me at all. In fact she set me back years due to the cost and time it took to get appointments (I went back two or three times over the years) and the product she prescribed. No one from her clinic ever came back to me with the results of my demodox test so when I saw her next I asked if she got them, she replied (as if she was waffling) that she had the test results and they came back negative. I asked for a copy of the results & was promised them but again they were never sent to me. I doubted she followed thru on the test even tho I paid for it. About a month later my skin was terrible and, by chance, I met her in a lift in Blackrock hospital, she didnt even make a comment about it. I could of killed her. Anyway its years later now, years of terrible skin and Im just back from my (new & equally expensive) Dermatologist today and guess what? Im been treated for Demodex as he says,Im infested with them and thats a massive part of whats been causing me problems all these years. Oh really, who would of guessed ....(besides me of course)!!!....... Wendy could & should of helped me with this years ago but she didnt seem bothered. I felt at the time she didnt bother to do that test as asked and now Im sure. She was just happy to collect her money & recommend the most expensive untested product - that she was probably on commission for. I was angry with her then for been so cold and unhelpful with something that was destroying my life but now Im furious with her. This could of been sorted years ago. (I actually wrote this about 5months ago but didnt publish it. I mainly just wanted to vent as I was so annoyed with Wendy for making my condition worse. Im publishing it now as my skin is back to normal again and has been since I saw that new Dermatologist months ago. All he prescribed was Rosex and a cream to kill demodox mites. I saw him ONCE and he had it diagnosed correctly within 10mins. If I could give her minus stars I would. Im sure she has helped others (although I have a friend who had similar problems with her) but she was utterly useless for me,.... In fact worse that useless.. She was harmful.) read more

I went to visit Dr. Lynch regarding acne that I had suffered with for 11 years. I was at my wits end trying to tackle the problem and didn't know what to do. I am so happy I found her ! She examined me and suggested Roaccutane as it would be the most effective and long term solution. She talked me through all the side effects, and explained in detail exactly what's involved. She was completely understanding of my stressful situation and I was so grateful that she was able to help. Her instructions were very precise so when I left my first appointment I was happy to begin the medication. Now I am acne free! Since the last 12 months I have come to realise that long term permanent side effects are on the menu when it comes to the chemo drug Roaccutane, Wendy Lynch's favourite acne medication. I have developed horrible stomach problems and stiffness throughout my body all for the sake of a few spots on my face. I was prescribed Roaccutane, I was vulnerable, a self-concious teenager with no access to sources of information on the drug, other than Wendy Lynch. Roaccutane is pure poison. I attended Dr Lynch for the treatment of acne. I had acne from teenage years and it still persisted into my late twenties, despite intervention from various GP's. I tried several different contraceptive pills, acne creams, RetinA, antibiotics over the years, all to no avail. I was frustrated and felt nothing was working for me and the older I got the harder I found it to manage as it was affecting my self confidence. Dr Lynch recommended Roaccutane, my initial reaction to this was uncertain as there seemed to be some negativity attached to this medication, this was evident from the very mixed (yet dated) reviews online. Dr Lynch instantly put me at ease with her kind and caring manner, she explained the medication in detail, in an honest, informative and clear way. She spoke about the side effects very openly but also about the positive results. I spoke with peers who had tried the medication and were also successful, after much consideration I commenced Roaccutane. My experience with Roaccutane was extremely positive, I had never seen my skin as clear and fresh looking, my skin was glowing and people were commenting on it. My lips were constantly dry and chapped throughout the treatment, Dr Lynch had told me they would be so this was expected, I always had vaseline at hand to manage this and it wasn't a problem. Other than that I genuinely had no issues or problems. My only qualm with it was that I didn't start it sooner! Dr Lynch monitors you throughout treatment with regular review appointments, blood testing and she is only a phone call away and keenly encourages you to call her staff if you face any problems, which again is very comforting. Dr Lynch is very personable, she makes you feel completely comfortable and is really friendly and approachable. I would recommend Dr Lynch to anyone, her treatment and care has given me so much self confidence back. I know she is an expert in the area of Dermatology and would highly recommend her as she is definitely the best in the business!! read more
