Having grown up on a farm with a life long history of public and military service, I do like…read morehunting and fishing and I work very hard to stay proficient in safety in all of my endeavors. I do travel a bit and have the ability to take advantage of 5 outdoor and 4 indoor ranges including this one. They all have different rules and personalities along with different strengths and weaknesses. I am struggling between a 2 and 3 star rating for various reasons but will give benefit of the doubt for a 3 star due to the nature of the actual ranges. I do visit others with less resources and farther away more frequently. I have left reviews of this specific range in the past and felt like leaving another after visiting the public use portion of the range a couple of days in a row and it being post COVID for the most part. I decided not to renew my membership at this range this year for various reasons including the ability to zero rifles at the public range for $10 still. I still believe the public range is a good starting place for very new shooters since there is a lot of supervision and willingness to give pointers by the hard working volunteers. I also believe it is a good place to zero a hunting rifle or visit prior to hunting season for a once a year check or if you are an avid paper puncher/bench person. The member side has a lot of assets and there is hardly ever anyone else using them except for a group shoot every now and again. I do find it odd that such nice resources go so underutilized in an era of waiting lists and such at other ranges I am familiar with, but it is an advantage to being a member if you like the ability to shoot at ranges without much competition for range space. Btw it is also a requirement to be an NRA member to be a member of the shooting club and I believe it is best to hang out with a long term member for a bit if you do join. The staff there couldn't have been more gracious from renting us all the necessary equipment, teaching us the safety standards and guiding us through a beginners process. Shout out to Ken who gave us a mini tutorial (it wasn't an official lesson as those require pre-booking). He was generous, fun and encouraging. And we had a great time. So did the Clays as most of them survived-hahaha! I particularly appreciated the pink and purple gun they provided for us to share. so glad we made this impromptu stop. We went to the Big Five store there on Saturday, 10/25/2025 with the intention to buy an Everlast…read more100lb heavy boxing bag, an Everlast speed bag, and the Everlast stand for those two bags. We also intended to buy some other things. These items totaled over $300.00 that we were going to spend that day. When we asked about the boxing bags and stand we were referred to a young man that was in that department. The first thing he said was that his leg hurt, and he was having a bad day. We saw sales tags on the bag and stand, but the tag was on the wrong bag. He didn't seem to know which bag was on sale, so we showed him an ad, and found the right bag. We then asked about the stand which had a sales tag on it for $144.49 but he said it was $150.00. When we asked why 150.00 instead of 144.99 he flew into a rage, and said in a very very loud voice: Jesus Christ, I only a rounded up a penny (not recognizing that it was a difference of over $5.00 not one penny) Then he turned around, and stomped off, not speaking to us anymore. We called out after him, (and I know he heard us) but he wouldn't acknowledge us. We then went up to the checkout desk and told them what happened, and asked to speak to a manager, They said the person we talked to was a department manager, but they would have the store manager contact us when he came in the next day. They also said that the person who helped us seems to have bad days every day, and there had been previous complaints about him. The store manager still has not called back. We have called the store three days in a row now, and the store manager still has not contacted us. We just get the the promise that he was looking into it, and would call us back. We find this totally unacceptable, as we have been loyal customers since this store branch opened years ago, but no more.
