I decided on Snow Mountain and am SO glad that I did. Everything was positive from my first communication with Rhoda through the entire process. Rhoda was timely in her responses when I had questions and was very empathetic to me during this difficult time. They picked my Ginni up from the vet in Bayonne, NJ and held her for a week until I had her service. I had about a 30 minute service for Ginni with a few of my friends. Rhoda presented Ginni beautifully and fulfilled all my requests as far as what to bury her in and how I wanted to see her. I played a song selection, read a beautiful prayer, and ended with a 2nd song selection. We then closed the casket and buried her with each of us pouring a shovel of dirt and I read a closing prayer. I received a paw print and a lock of her hair in a heart. The property itself is up in the mountains or as Rhoda says, "a little closer to heaven," and I really enjoyed the ride up. I feel that it is a good place for my dog to rest. The services provided were compassionate and affordable and I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone that has the unfortunate experience of losing a beloved pet.

They gave me my precious cat's ashes in a beautiful wooden box, a framed photo of her cat paw print and even a lock of pet hair if you like. Rhoda is compassionate and very gracious, told me I could bring her right over- or they also pick up, but I was so relieved as it was Sunday morning and I didn't expect to be able to find anywhere to bring her until Monday. Highly recommend them!

TLDR: If you need to cremate your pet, this is your place!…read more Our little boy Cian quickly decompensated over the process of two weeks. We made the difficult decision of transitioning him over the rainbow bridge. In the past, we had lost our dog and had used another cremation place in Clifton (which now has a different name, and we learned different owners). Our experience was okay, not great but fine, that time, so we were going to go back. When we called, their prices had increased substantially and the woman on the phone was not only not supportive, she was quite rude. We found the receipt from our last dog, who had passed two years prior and the cost was over $125 more from then. We had a funny feeling about waiting 3-5 days to pick up Cian and did not feel comfortable going with this place... so I went online and found Pet Rest in Peace. Kurt answered the phone, was extremely supportive and caring, and easily made us an appointment for a private viewing and a private cremation for our baby. Our pup left us on his own accord before his appointment with the vet, so I called back when Pet Rest in Peace was closed to see about moving the appointment earlier. I left a voicemail and Kurt called me back from his cellphone almost immediately and offered his condolences as well as making the appointment earlier. Not only did Kurt make us feel comfortable and comforted, the cost of their services were much cheaper than the other place we had used in the past. We brought Cian to Pet Rest in Peace and were a bit early for our appointment time. The two young ladies there came out to the car to meet us, complimented our boy and assured us we would be well taken care of. They took him and set him up beautifully on his bed in his blanket in a private viewing room and gave us time to say see you later to our boy. I cannot explain how beautiful this experience was (and it was absolutely nothing like our last experience at the other place where I laid my dog on a cold slab in a hallway and was told to come back later after paying them and filling out the paperwork). We elected to get memorial paw prints where we could choose a charm to attach to it. They took the paw prints in front of us and also shaved locks of hair for us to keep, in our presence. It is really comforting to know the things you are receiving are really your animal, again not something we experienced elsewhere. They offered for us to see the cremation oven they'd be using to ensure transparency, and explained the tag they would be attaching to Cian that would ensure he was who we were taking home. In a horribly depressing situation, they were exactly what we needed to feel supported and seen in our grief. They explained everything clearly, helped us fill out the paperwork and told us we could have as much time as we needed to think about what we wanted the plaque on his box to say. They gave us the timeline of two hours with the option to stay and wait for him (not an option we experienced elsewhere) or we could come get him when everything was complete in about 2 hours. They called us in an hour and a half and everything was truly perfect. They included a flower when he was presented to us, and we were able to take that flower home with us in his memory. They also gave us a stand for the paw prints for easy displaying! I would recommend this place 1000 x over. If you have any reservations, don't!

From the very beginning, it was clear this is a family-owned place run with compassion and integrity. They treated my cat with the utmost dignity and care, and they treated us, the grieving family, with patience and respect. Not once did we feel rushed or disregarded. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye, and they did it in the most humble and comforting way possible. In moments like these, emotions run high, and it is rare to find people who truly understand how to handle them. The team here made sure our grief was honored, our feelings were acknowledged, and that our cat's final journey was handled with gentleness. If you are ever in the painful position of needing these services, I cannot recommend them enough. They go far beyond just providing a service. They provide care, respect, and compassion when you need it most.

This place will make you feel like your baby died all over again, avoid them at all cost…read more I want to share my experience that took place today. I scheduled a visitation at 11 AM for my best friend of 12 1/2 years. After taking care of the payment and paperwork I was led to the visitation room, The moment I laid eyes on the deceased I turned and said that's not my dog to which I was met by that's not possible, I tapped my phone and said this is Eli that is not. I was left in the room with the unknown deceased dog until I went outside to collect myself. I was then told they were on the phone with the vet to figure out where Eli is. They finally said Eli was there but due to human error Eli was already cremated. I was supposed to see my best friend for the last time today, Instead I was traumatized for life and will never know who I actually brought home. I am disabled and unable to work Eli was my heart and world instead of seeing my best friend and kissing his head for the last time I will always question whether or not it was my baby I brought home. Final gift you should be ashamed of yourselves it feels like my baby boy died all over again today. Just so you can see this is my handsome boy that you stole the opportunity from me to say my final goodbye, this was my best friend, the damage you did is immeasurable.

I randomly came across Resting Pet's number and Justine came to our rescue. She just seemed so calming that we kept calling her back with questions and she respectfully answered everything. She said that they were an agency that will walk us through this process with whatever we chose. She gave us all of our options and worked with our budget. She came right away to pick up our baby and was just so incredibly comforting, respectful and grieved with us. She went to the cemetery, did all the necessary paperwork, picked out his plot, gravestone, and sent us pictures throughout the week so that we felt like we were in on the whole process without having to do any of the actual work. It gave us time to grieve fully without having to go through the details of how to bury him, which would've just broken us down even more. She was absolutely amazing. She even picked a plot with another girl fur baby next to him so that he wouldn't be alone. Even after paying the agency for their services, she attended his funeral and cried with us. She didn't have to come but she still came and truthfully she barely charged us anything for everything that she did. She even gifted us with any additional writings we wanted to engrave on his headstone. The burial was the most peaceful and respectful process. We left the burial feeling as if he was truly at peace. I couldn't recommend them enough. Her heart is truly in this and this isn't just for business. They truly hold your hand and walk you through this process. I can not recommend them enough. I have two more pets, and whenever their time may come, I know exactly who will be there for us, holding our hands through it all. Thank you so much for helping us.
