I cannot even believe what I went through. I follow up with Dr. Daisy regarding my baby health as I was advised after taking my baby to the ER . When I took my baby with her she made assumptions without consulting me and next thing you know she walked me into my worst nightmare. She did not care or took in account that I was going through my postpartum. Never did she explain what she was about to do and she was unprofessional . Unable to figure out what was going on with my baby . I was expecting more from her since she has over 20yrs working most of her life with babies. At the beginning I was advised by my aunt to not take my baby with her because she was burn out . I regret not listening to her. Thank God, I have friends that work in the medical profession and they were able to help and explained to me what happens in those cases. Me as a Hispanic mother , I am sharing with other Hispanic women that sometimes you can get dragged into certain situations because of the lack of education, knowledge and can end up losing your baby. I strongly believe that we need physicians that are trained fully here in the U.S.A. , sometimes doctors that come from diff countries are not up to date with the protocols within the U. S.A. For her many years of experience and training I do not believe that she is a solid Peditrician. She lacks communication skills and does not explains things . We've been coming here for years and always had great prices and service. They just recently became part of Vista Community Clinic, check reviews of that place, and now are lying and gouging customers. My son needed 1 shot, no tests, just a 5 minute lookover and 1 shot. My wife was told by the receptionist when she first got there the visit would be anywhere from $150-260 INCLUDING THE SHOT. An hour and half later after having to fill out a bunch of forms because they couldn't pull anything over from the old system, she was told the total would be $535!!! Been taking our kids to her almost 2 years. But we have decided to take our kids elsewhere for numerous reasons. Our main reason is, she doesn't review our kids medical charts prior to appts. We spend more time going over the same things with her every single appt, than she does actually looking at our kids. Waste of time. Se are both in medical abc feel this should been done prior to seeing us. Not in room with us. Also, her bed side manner bothers us. Not only is she very knowledgeable, but her attitude is positive, encouraging, and comforting. Her staff is warm and welcoming. Dr Robinson is a great pediatrician and I can say this from experience because she was my Dr during my childhood and now attends both of my kids. I love how she takes her time during appts to make sure she knows what diagnosis and medications to prescribe. Also she is bilingual in English and Spanish which is a plus for a Pediatrician to communicate with parents and kids. The front staff is exceptional they always answer the phone and always get my kids in when I call for last minute appts. The front nurse, Maria is very sweet and cautious when administrating shots. We have had nothing but wonderful visits with Dr. Daisy. She is always very patient and we never feel rushed. I schedule both my kids appointments back to back so we have the entire office to ourselves for most of the visit. My daughter had to get numerous shots at her 4 yr old well check and they took all the time she needed to get through. Dr Daisy is the best pediatrician in town. She was my boys' pediatrician their whole lives, since they were born until they became adults they are now 21 and 20. My experience with her was the best ; she was always willing to meet the needs of my kids, booking appointments on my convince, when she was on call she would call me right after she got paged, she is very sensitive to the needs of the children and very ethical, trustworthy. The front desk staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I lost my kids insurance cards and called my insurance company to make sure my kids would still be able to get seen without cards. The insurance company told me that I shouldn't have any issues checking in for appointments. I call Dr. Robinsons office to make sure my son will be able to get seen without his insurance card. The clerk or nurse assistant answers the phone in Spanish then proceeds to ask what I want. I explain to her my situation and she cuts me off and transfers me to another rude staff member who starts yelling and telling me she doesn't have time to sit on he phone and explain to her why my son can't get seen due to no insurance card. Since seeing Dr. Robinson with our first baby through our second's 18th month visit, overall our visits have been great. Dr. Robinson is friendly and positive. She definitely errs on the cautious side if that's important to you. The office staff has also always been friendly with us and we feel welcomed. However, after my most recent experience with billing we will unfortunately will not be returning. I noticed the bill submitted to my insurance for my son's 4 year well child visit was over three times the price of his 3 year old well child visit. After investigating, this was due to more vaccinations given which were more expensive. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover them after the first year so we were left to pay for them. The most disconcerting finding was that the bill also included a $100 "sick visit" code which my insurance also doesn't cover. I asked why this was charged and was told it was because we talked about how our son is still wearing diapers to bed at night. The doctor asked us the question and we answered - it wasn't even a concern we brought up. Yet we still were charged for a conversation that we assumed was included with the well-child visit. So I learned two very important things - 1. Shop around for vaccinations - see if you can get them cheaper or ask for a cash price upfront. I'm sure I would have been able to pay less had I paid cash upfront. (After getting this bill I did pay cash for a couple shots for my daughter and they were FAR less than any vaccination on our bill). 2. Ask the doctor to let you know if she is asking you any questions that she will charge you more for answering! I would have liked to know that upfront. After these discussions about the bill the billing person said she would talk to the doctor about removing the sick charge and perhaps reducing the vaccinations as well. She took down my phone and email address and said she would get back to me. I never heard from her and instead continued to receive the full bills in the mail. I called several times and reminded her she said she was going to talk to the doctor about reducing the bill. She always said she remembered and said she'd get back to me. Unfortunately that never happened and I finally received a call saying they were going to send me to collections and when I explained I was waiting on them, she continued to insist on payment and that they couldn't offer more than a tiny discount due to waiting on payment for so long. I am the type of person to pay my bills as soon as they are due - I've paid several times immediately in the office even when they said I could pay later. So this added insult to injury to assert that I had been negligent in payment when I was waiting on them. Needless to say I have a bad taste in my mouth after this experience. If you can avoid these situations you may have a great experience with this office. However, I will be moving us elsewhere after feeling just too frustrated with this whole experience. read more
